There is something calming about the Cherokee Falls at Cloudland Canyon State Park in Georgia, USA, which drops 60 feet down a wide rock wall. Perhaps it was the quiet whispy white flow of water. The falls drops into a clear greenish hue Pool. It is tempting to go for a swim after a sweaty hike down but I was just happy squatting on a boulder and taking in the tranquillity. #cloudlandcanyonstatepark #georgia #usa #waterfall #outexploringagain #travelphotography #yourshotphotographer (at Cloudland Canyon State Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPIn0X5HYVi/?utm_medium=tumblr

Touring Potosi's Deadly Silver Mine
Touring Potosi's deadly silver mine was emotional. It felt almost cruel to visit a place where so many died making the world rich. There continues to be so much sacrifice, danger, and poverty. The tour give you a heightened sense of social awareness.
Touring Potosi’s deadly silver mine was emotional. It felt almost cruel to visit a place where there had been so much death and there continues to be so much sacrifice, danger, and poverty. Calling it an adventure tour would be inappropriate. It might be better to call it a social awakening tour. I did come out with a greater sense of social inequity awareness that abounds here and in the world…

Flying at Warp Speed on the Moruca
Flying at Warp Speed on the Moruca
This is one of my favorite pictures taken while zipping along the Moruca River in Northwest Guyana on the way to Charity, a town on the Pomeroon River. Sitting next to the boat captain, high above the sitting deck, your face and hair gets hammered by the wind, sun, and salt air of the ocean. And of course, be sure to mind the low handing tree branches. The Moruca River twists and turns through…

Tuma pot
There is something simple and hardy about a tuma pot. It is a traditional broth made in a clay pot, and sometimes in a metal pot, by many indigenous peoples in Guyana, South America. The broth is made with hot water, casreep, lot of hot peppers, and any catch of the day – fish and or wild and domestic meat. Casreep is a syrup made from boiling bitter cassava juice for a long time until it turn…

Petronas twin towers
The lights of the Petronas twin towers and the surrounding skyscrapers, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, dazzle the night sky around the KLCC park (Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre). The coloured musical fountains in the evening draw a big crowd to the park adding a festive mood. The Petronas twin towers cover a height of 451.9 meters and 88 stories. This picture was captured from the Traders Hotel on…

Why staying at hostels is a great way to travel
Why staying at hostels is a great way to travel and explore!
Staying at hostels is my favorite way to travel and explore. I often find myself looking for one on Hostel World, Booking.com, or Hostelling International. Yes, they may not have a fancy lobby, a nice restaurant, a swimming pool, luxuries like air conditioning or towels or toiletries, or in-suite bathrooms (though some do for an additional cost). But they compensate with a character that big…

Koniamman Temple car festival is an important annual event in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. Residents of Coimbatore consider Koniamman as the resident deity of the city with the history of the deity and temple dating back to 13th century CE. I wish there was more background on the deity itself, but the following website provides some basic history. http://www.kovaikoniamman.tnhrce.in/history.html (at Oppanakara Street) https://www.instagram.com/p/CL-64a4Ho16/?igshid=cv29fs9627rm
