New God
Tumblr media
Amenhotep lV, Akhenaten, Pharaoh the reformer, Pharaoh the heretic... How many riddles have gathered around this far-ambiguous personality. The king, who changed his name in the sixth year of his reign, carried out the greatest religious reform. Canceling the entire Pantheon, he left one God–the God of the evening Sun, Aton, depicted as a disk with rays. The cult of the God Amon was banned, and the priests were killed. The Pharaoh delivered the throne of Egypt from the harmful influence of the priesthood, which plunged their hands into the Affairs of the state, and although a lot of blood was shed, it was worth the highest goal, akhnaton the Reformer began a new round in Egyptian history.
Whatever differences there may be about this king, something cannot be denied. To encroach on religion, customs and culture-you need to have iron strength of spirit and unbending will.
On art, I depicted the Pharaoh looking confidently ahead and the priests lying motionless at his feet, now they are dead and will not be able to interfere with the king in his plans.
