I never forgot, either.
Those words earn a little grin from him as he continues to strum his guitar and walk down memory lane with her. Even if it had taken her a moment to recognize him through the forest of hair he sported now and the numerous tattoos painting his body like a canvas, he fully believed her when she said she hadn't forgotten. Especially when she was able to name drop his band when it did click. On the other hand, he had always known she was that Chrissy but he had thought that maybe popularity had stolen her to the dark side. It wasn't uncommon as popularity could be a hell of a drug but she had quickly proven to him that day in the forest that she was the same kindhearted girl from the middle school talent show.
"Oh?" He stops playing then as he lifts his gaze to meet hers and catches the almost shy look she had on her face as if she were about to admit the most embarrassing story ever. It was adorable and he was completely intrigued as he carefully sets his guitar back in its case to give his full attention while she fishes for something in her purse. "I think I left an impression on most people, hence my reputation," he teases knowing full well that whatever impression he had left on her would be positive as opposed to the more negative one other kids and their parents had taken away from his performance and overall person. When she finds what she's looking for and comes to sit by his side, he eyes the shoe box with interest; wondering what could possibly be hidden inside that sparked this whole revisit to the past.
The contents contained within the box immediately remind him of one of those shoe box dioramas they'd all made at least once for a school project. Except this one was incredibly well crafted and obviously had a lot of thought and care invested into it's construction. It doesn't fully sink in what the inspiration is or what it is representing until Chrissy begins to explain the story behind it's creation. Then he's left a little stunned because while they were a couple now, he never would have expected she reciprocated feelings back then and he was certainly surprised to hear that she sat around hoping that Eddie specifically would show up at the Snow Ball. "You waited... for me?" School functions had never really been his thing, especially not after the overly dramatic response from the parents that had followed his performance at the talent show. Now he was wishing he had gone and not only just in spite of his fellow classmates. "Shit, I wish I knew. I would've happily broken a few of your mom's rules to dance with you." Laura would have loved that about as much as she loved their current relationship he was sure.
Knowing the context now and as his eyes further pick apart the smaller details of her creation, he more clearly sees the vision and he can't help the laugh that leaves him upon noticing the little snowman with the guitar that represents him. It's not a mean spirited laugh in any way, it's just adorable to see himself in a way that he had never considered himself to be. Plus he was struck again by the detail and just how much she had paid attention to him back then to know the guitar and vocals were his main gig in his band. He really had made as much an impression on her as she had with him. "Not going to lie, I'm a little speechless right now. Which... bravo to you because that's not an easy task the manage." Another good natured laugh sounds from him because everyone that knew him knew that he often didn't know when to shut up. "I mean, this is... Wow. It's very cool."
Still examining all the little details of her project, he smiles softly as he accepts her gift to him; being careful of how he's handling it so that he doesn't accidentally break something. He recognizes the nervous little laugh that escapes her after and raises his gaze to meet hers before setting the box briefly on lap and reaching out one of his hands to set it gently over her knee in a gesture meant to be reassuring. "Hey, don't be embarrassed. This is the coolest thing I've ever seen. I mean, you should have seen my notebook back in middle. Pretty sure there were more scribbles of E + C and cringey song lyrics in there than actual notes for any of my classes." He laughs at himself to make her feel less embarrassed about the whole thing because he himself had also been guilty of having a crush on her while not speaking to her following the talent show.
"Anyway, this is going on our dresser at the new place," he informs her with a little grin before carefully lifting the box again and neatly packing it away into one of the smaller moving boxes. Grabbing some old newspapers, he wrinkles them up and stuffs it into the sides of the box to be some extra padding and project it from any possible damage while they were moving everything. Then he quickly tapes up the box and turns fully back to her so he can sweep in and catch her lips in a sweet tender kiss to express how he felt about her and her gift to him. "Mm, I love you. You know that?"

Penelope once told Chrissy: Eddie? Munson, Eddie? Girl, he’s sickenly obsessed with you. And, that was the very first month in with their rendezvous. Now? With the couple in a serious relationship, she tended to make her voice heard on the occasion when they invited her along to help with shopping for the apartment. Sick, both of you — no cure to it! Eddie learned the hard way that Penelope had her own way of being supportive. She was the friend who wasn’t mean, just the one who dished it how it was.
Especially when she was friends with Chrissy since middle school, therefore was the only one who knew of Chrissy’s little interest on the boy who was nice to her during The Talent Show. Fate had a funny way of playing things out, or so she thought. “I never forgot, either. Just for a little while…” Years was more like it, both had changed in appearance and though she knew his name, she didn’t put two and two together to realize he was that Eddie. “There’s part of that story I never told you about, which is why I’m asking.” She says this with a bit of a shy look over at him, before she abandons the box she was helping pack up (which contained all of his music collection), to retrieve something out of her purse that was left in the corner behind the door.
“I guess you could say you left a bit of an impression on 12 year old me.” While she had changed in appearance much like him, the one thing that remained the same about her was the height. “Mom would never allow me to have a boyfriend at that age, let alone a friend who is a boy, but I was still allowed to attend the annual Snow Ball, and every other dance they had then. The box in her hands is a small shoe box, left over from a pair of shoes she had then, and she’s taking a seat beside him to open the box and show its most random contents. “You never went, but I sat at the table hoping you would show up. I don’t know why, it’s not like I ever spoke to you after The Talent Show for you to know to be there.”
She was shifting the contents around, keeping the box low so he could look inside. Confetti shaped like snowflakes were twinkling silver and white at the bottom of the box, with a paper machete snow globe with the name of the dance, the year, and their initials at the bottom. Snow Ball ‘81, C + E. “The confetti came from the dance and I made these for you.” Art class was clearly one of her favorite subjects, something her mother possibly blessed her with genetically due to how Laura was a talented seamstress and had quite a vision it’s clothing. The other contents had styrofoam snowmen, made to represent them as a snow boy and girl, with respective talents as the snow boy was holding a guitar and the snow girl with pom poms.
“Seeing as we’re moving in together, I thought it’s time to finally give this to you.” She tells him, all but letting out that tiny laughter when she was a tad bit embarrassed. “Maybe I didn’t know it then, I think there was a part of me that knew it would be you. I don’t know how…” With a little shrug, she gives him a sweet smile. “Anyway, I’ll let you pack it.”

The sight of her looking so disheveled as she reaches the brink of climax with her hairline damp and her perfectly soft skin glistening with the perspiration of their activities was truly something majestic. Eddie wonders if she even realizes the power that she holds here because he is completely entranced as his eyes, glistening with desire and lust, continue to watch every little detail of her own pleasure unfold on top of him from the way her whole body trembles to the delighted moans. All the while he is just as breathless and disheveled as her as soft moans and desperate whimpers escape him when he feels the full force of her orgasm as she clenches tightly around him. His palm firmly squeezes her breast in response as he fights to keep himself in control which was increasingly difficult given the incredibly intense sensations of her inner walls contracting and squeezing around his dick in combination with the alluring way her features pinch together as she comes undone around him.
Then her upper body comes crashing down on top of his and her lips capture his in a searing kiss that earns a muffled moan from him as he reacts hungrily to her mouth on his. His arms shift from underneath her then, slipping around to settle along her sides before seizing the opportunity to grab her and swiftly flip their position over so that he's back on top now. "T-together this time?" He breathes out in a pant against her lips before wasting no time slamming his hips down into hers so he's re-buried to the hilt, his speed faster paced and his thrusts more erratic with desperation now as he chases after his own climax with the goal of earning a secondary one for her and hoping he could achieve it. Meanwhile he kisses her passionately and with great need while one of his hands slips firmly into hers with his fingers weaving through the empty spaces in hers. Her touch only heightening the pleasure that was steadily and swiftly increasing with each manic thrust of his hips as he grew closer.
It was like an electric shot of pleasure constantly buzzing through her when she felt the intensity on his ministrations on her body, back arching to his hand that was massaging her breast, causing her to moan louder. Her body language giving clear signs that she wanted to be overwhelmed by him, especially as she felt the way he was driving his hips firmly up into hers, causing her moans and whimpers to increase in volume and her body temperature run hot. She couldn’t imagine how ravished she was looking by his actions, skin glistening and hair sticking to her body, panting harder while wave after wave went through her while his thumb worked so good on her clit, she couldn’t stop the eye rolling pleasure. Never had she experienced sex to such an intense level, that he could get her to do anything he wanted from her with encouraging demands.
She knew it was written all over her face, from her flushed cheeks to the look in her eyes, nothing but sounds of pleasure passing her lips now as she’s riding him with fevered urgency now that he’s getting her closer to that edge. As soon as she heard the deep hum of his words to cum for him, she was powerless to stop it from happening not a second later, causing her to reach a full fledged orgasm to where he had her whole body shaking right down to her legs. Her moans briefly formulated into a cry of sheer ecstasy, his name slipping in between whimpers as wave after wave followed while she came around his throbbing cock as the inner walls of her pussy tightened around him so much, it practically left her in tears. Her hips continued to move against his, palm of her hands sliding over his chest while her legs trembled as her upper body strength gave away a little, using the opportunity to have her lips crash down onto his for a heated yet extremely sensual kiss that would surely leave them breathless.

❛ do you remember when we first met? ❜
&. 𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬.
Time was seemingly moving at a lightning pace now that their application had been accepted by the landlord of their new place. They were already due to move in by the first of the month and he hadn't even started packing any of his belongings yet. Not like he owned all that much, of course, but if he kept putting off the task any longer, he'd be boxing everything up as they were moving it into his van to take all the way up to Indianapolis and that would be a headache for everyone. Fortunately Chrissy was always keen to keep him on track as she all but volunteered to come over and help him pack up his entire bedroom. Almost like one of their weekend movie dates except no movie and they would be working or rather trying to since the couple were known to be easily distracted around one another, especially if his Uncle Wayne wasn't home to keep them behaving.
The case in point shows itself when Eddie goes to pack his guitar away and instead ends up with his baby settled in his lap while he strums a few chords to Judas Priest's Breaking the Law which in turn captures Chrissy's full attention away from the box she was packing. The song apparently stirs a memory up within her as she poses her question and he answers her with a little smile tugging at the corners of his mouth because he does. "The Talent Show?" Technically not the first time they met but it was the first time they really connected and it was when he knew he liked this girl, even if they had branched off into completely different social groups later on. "I mean, how could I forget? I had that god awful buzz cut and got the ass chewing of a lifetime afterward by our lovely Principal for playing that 'devil's music' at a school show." A laugh sounds from him as he thinks back on it because it was the very song he was currently playing for them. Apparently some parents had complained it was inappropriate.
"I remember I was looking for my old man in the crowd," he reminisces as his fingers continue to strum away at the strings of his guitar, now playing much softer than usual. "When this cute little cheerleader walks up to me asking who I'm looking for. As usual, Al Munson was nowhere to be seen but I remember you had the opposite problem. Your mom was front and center." It made all the more sense now that he knew about their relationship and why it had made her anxious but regardless he had given his sympathy at the time just as she had expressed hers to him. "Then I had to go on and you said you'd cheer for me if he didn't show which I thought was very sweet. I never forgot that, you know."

The vulnerability of her words in response to him only further solidifies the certainty of this decision and their next big move as a young couple in love. Maybe it wouldn't always be all sunshine and rainbows as that was just the reality of adulthood but he was of the belief that no adventure worth experiencing came without it's own set of struggles along the way anyway. His faith in her abilities as well as their deeply devoted love for each other was completely unshakeable and he wholly believed they were going the distance together despite how much Laura Cunningham disapproved of their relationship. Mrs. Cunningham could hate him all she wanted but he wasn't going to let his girlfriend's mother deter him from loving her daughter and it certainly wasn't going to stop him from protecting her from Laura's attempts to control and bully her. Eddie was in this for the long haul now and while he had initially been a little nervous about the idea, he couldn't be more excited to find a place that they could call their own together.
"And mine has been yours," he murmurs back, feeling his heart flutter in reaction to her hand softly stroking where he held it just above his heart. An indicator if he has ever seen one that even his heart recognized it's home in a person. "I hope so too." Less nosy neighbors would be a nice change too but he figures there will always at least be one of those people in any neighborhood. "There's a duplex or two I found in the paper as well so we've got some options if we feel like the walls are too thin or whatever." At least then they would only have to consider one other neighbor but it truly didn't matter to him where they ended up living so long as they were together.
Matching her enthusiasm to get this show on the road, Eddie pops his own door open and leaps out of the van to meet her as she comes around to his side. Her arm slips comfortably into his and he starts leading the way toward the building to meet with the property manager he had spoken with over the phone a few days prior. Smirking with amusement all the while as Chrissy innocently suggests the idea that the walls could be thicker due to the brick exterior. "You think so?" He tosses back as he opens the door to the building and follows her inside, spotting the main office on the right side of the hallway. "It couldn't hurt to scout one out..." The idea definitely intrigued him especially since he had written a number of songs but only performed them at The Hideout to a bunch of drunks and the bar's owner. It was a lifelong dream of his to be able to pursue his music in a more professional manner but that was going to take a lot of work and he didn't want to be totally unrealistic about his chances of making it in the music industry. "Studios can be very pricey. I looked into that shitty one over in Lafayette like, I don't know, two years ago and..." He whistles as if to get his point across about the price they had been asking for to record a demo there. It definitely wasn't something a kid from the trailer park could afford but in the mean time he could maybe put away a little money each week to save up for it like he had done for his guitar.
Finally stepping into the main office of the building, they were eagerly greeted by the property manager who introduced herself as Marian before she was quickly gathering up some informational paperwork about the apartments to hand them and leading the way to an upper floor to give them a tour of one of their model units. Eddie with his arm still in hers looks her way and silently questions if she's ready before slowly nodding and walking into the unit as the manager steps aside to allow them to have a look around the inside. It was definitely on the smaller side from what he could see stepping into the main living room but still roomier than the trailer he was currently living in with his uncle. Plus there were two bedrooms, a big and small one as well as a bathroom and a kitchen according to the pamphlet Marian had given them to look over. "Shall we have a walk through?"
* continued // @outsidermunson.
It felt like only yesterday when she brought the idea of them moving in together as a possible option. Now here they were, parked in the parking lot of what could possibly be their first apartment together. Chrissy felt like the luckiest young woman, because her college friends always talked about her luck. How rare it was for any guy at their age to even want to think about settling down, let alone move in to a place that they shared, instead of living separately. She knew it was more than luck that was playing a hand with them, even with how nervous she was about the responsibilities that came with living independently while also being codependent, fate and their love would see see couple through. It also helped that she always found Eddie to be rather intelligent when it came to life and what the outside world had to offer, so her nerves were surprisingly quiet. Something she was sure he could feel just by how gentle her kisses were as they tended to find themselves stealing moments of intimacy with each other, no matter where they were or even the occasion. Even though this was quite the occasional, because it may have been the first time where she wasn't the least bit uncertain about living together. Not that she was before, because she was always certain of Eddie, but she expressed her emotions snd thoughts freely on everything with her boyfriend, which is why she appreciated the way he checked in on what may have been going on inside of her head.
As he responds to her words of devoted certainty, her heart does a little skip when he takes her hand to place over the area of his chest to feel the rhythm of his heartbeat, almost like her own was having a conversation with his. His words that tie into the action leaves her practically melting into the seat. Her mind and heart may have been certain, but her mother was a whole different story since before this decision. Laura Cunningham was the kind of woman who, for some time, could coerce her daughter to see the failure that would become of their relationship. All her mother’s opinion, of course. The woman rarely had a positive thought when it came to her daughter since the final grade of middle school, where the seed of popularity was planted by her own hand. Eddie had his own way to smite the coercion of Laura out of Chrissy, going out of his way for his girlfriend without so much as being told to, but simply because he wanted to. Because he loved her, really really loved her, and she deeply loved him too.
“I know.” Her response comes through a soft sigh of mere content, while her hand gently rubs at his chest. “My heart has been yours since the day I was born.” Not only did she really believe in that, but to speak so vulnerably was something she could only do around him and her best friend. Though, she found herself having more in depth conversations with her boyfriend these days, and she reckoned it had to do with this rather grown-up step they were taking in their relationship. After all, he was the one who compiled a list from all of the apartment listings in the newspaper. “I hope wherever we do call our home, the neighbors are lovely. It seems quiet here.” Yes, the meadow was missing, but the brick exterior added some cute without over doing it. “Come on, let’s give it a better look!” She’s beyond excited to tour the building and look through the units for showing. He could see the top of her head after she gets out and goes around the front of the van to meet him as he steps out of the vehicle. The aura around her was nothing short of positive as she latched onto his arm as she normally did when they were out. “Maybe the brick around the building means thicker walls.” Oh, how innocent she could sound and appear when she said that, while the smile suggested otherwise. “We should probably look into nearby recording studios after we narrow down a place… for your music.”
