I thought of drawing her propaganda poster as a closer likeness, but decided it was funnier if it was obviously retouched to look more healthy and saintly.

Do you ever think about the fact that if they had made the six of crows spin off then in this version on top of the inherit romantic elements that were already there now Jesper helping Genya to recreate Wylan's face -and him remembering all the little details- would have served as a beautiful conclusion from when he forgot what Wylan looked like after the first time they met, or are you normal?

I think that we collectively as a fandom forget that Kaz loved Nina like a sister and showed it in the most subtle ways possible. After Nina took parem, he was the FIRST ONE to ask what the effects of it were and how long she had. He took the parem from Matthias and willingly kept it so she would be okay. Kaz was the one who she told about what happened with Matthias and he didn’t care. Literally the first scene that she appears in, he admired her and respected her. And when Matthias died, he asked about what happened, he checked on Nina he picked a tulip, knelt down next to her, laid it on his chest, and helped form a circle around her. AND NINA LOVES HIM BACK. During the Ice Court Heist, she went back for him bc she couldn’t bear the thought of him dying. She continuously spoke of him like he was her brother. She snarkily made fun of him but she said good things about him too.

the crows are so young. they're so young. they make fun of wylan for playing the flute and being a bad criminal. they love waffles. they mock kaz's bad haircut. matthias mentally addresses kaz only with insults for nearly the whole two books. they have all been jealous of each other showing other people attention at some point -- jesper is jealous of anyone kaz gives attention to. matthias is jealous of anyone nina gives attention to. kaz is jealous of how comfortable the others are with each other. wylan is jealous of kuwei flirting with jesper -- they're all insecure at some point. nina gets mad at them for eating her cookies. they're all horny and fantasize about their crushes while actively running for their lives. they all want to kill the woman they kidnapped because she's whiny. they tease inej for sounding philosophical. they have secret hand signals. jesper and nina make sex jokes all the time and love to make others blush. they spite each other. they threatened to tattletale on each other to each other. they compete over who has the biggest bounty on his head. inej uses "being a matthias" as an insult. kaz and jesper have a physical scrap and have to be pulled apart by an Adult. i adore them so much

anyways the genius thing about the way john gaius has set up his empire - and the genius thing about the way TM has structured the books - is that there are multiple ways to view him. gideon the ninth starts by painting him as this unknowable and inscrutable god figure - the King Undying, the Kindly Prince of Death! - and through most of that book he is more of an emblem than anything. a symbol of dominicus, the patriarch of the nine houses, the divine being of whom the eighth house has a massive fucking portrait for some reason, and ultimately the key to what sets this version of the solar system apart from our own.

harrow the ninth strips him down. he’s not just a god anymore. he’s a cool god. he makes shitty jokes. he eats peanuts. he fucks his friends on the dining room table. he tells our main character that he sees her as a daughter figure. he shows emotion; he makes mistakes; there are things that he cannot do. if gideon the ninth introduces him as the wizard of oz’s huge and intimidating head, then harrow the ninth is john pulling back his own curtain to show the man behind it. see! he’s kind of pathetic! he’s Just Like You!

and both of these images of john ultimately serve the same purpose, because they both play to his favor. whether you fear him or you woobify him, you have fallen into the trap he has set for you. because nona shows us an even truer john, a john who doomed the world and fucked it all up, a john convinced he was in the right even as his friends killed themselves in front of him. if harrow pulls back the curtain, nona peels off his face.

it does make me wonder whether there is a secret, smaller, fourth john gaius that will be explored in alecto the ninth. alecto is the only being in the universe who really and truly knows him. she knows what he’s done and why he did it. she chose him for a reason. beneath the god and beneath the god pretending to be a man and beneath the man pretending to be a god - is there truly just a man? is there anything left?

tl;dr version: john gaius is like an onion. john gaius has layers too

Honestly I just kind of was going for whimsical but with a gothic twist, and at that point was identifying as bisexual — and at this point I’m too tired to change it so here we are

For my name it was a nickname I was giving back in middleschool! One of our teacher had a system where we worked with 'wifi' eachtime we talked in class we lost a bar of the "wifi" (was a weird joke and we never held count on that) All the kids usually joked if they needed 'wifi' , they would borrow mine if they wanted to talk more. (I was incredibly shy in middle school, I only talked to like 3 people at school;^;)

They called me Ms. Wifi because of that. I just thought it would be funny if I put 'miss' instead of 'ms' because of my terrible actual wifi connection I have at home lol.
