the normal ending has me so sad. bruh what do you mean Ying waited for Ming before drinking Meng Po's soup. Like, she knows she's going to forget everything once she drinks it

She doesn't even know if he's coming back. But he did and they reunite?

Lowkey I fold so easily for these stories but what gets me is that they are at the point where they must lose their memories and be reborn.

this makes the good ending hit harder because it turns out, Tree Sage used to be Sage, Moon's husband. The reason why he's stuck in the Underworld is that he's waiting for Moon (who tbh is at the point of no return in the normal ending) So by Rewinding and saving him, she doesn't turn into a yaoguai.

Ming wasn't killed. and he returns home to Ying. I love that.
