❪  *  𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒉𝒚𝒖𝒌𝒎𝒊𝒏

     hyukmin remains still as the class was dismissed, letting everyone move around him and laugh with friends. as he watched them, he felt like they were all moving so fast and he was sluggish as he began packing up his own items. lightly shaking his head, there’s the faintest hint of a scoff that leaves his lips. “i could maybe accept it as a joke if they only did it once. but they don’t,” he responds, shoving a book into his bag before standing and looking down at the other. “it’s not a joke anymore if they do it repeatedly and it hurts someone.”

     he wasn’t going to lie, looking donghyuk in the eye had his heart aching. it was a feeling he was used to but it only intensified when their eyes met. honestly hyukmin couldn’t stand to look at him for too long. even just the thought of saying the other’s name left a knot in his throat and a bitter taste in his mouth.

     “look, i can just do the project if you want. that way i don’t get my hopes up and you don’t ruin your image by being seen with me,” he spits out, shaky grip on the strap of his bag only tightening. his heart was heavy, dull heart beats hitting his ribs and causing his chest to ache.

     “i’m sure you have somewhere else you’d rather be anyway.”

       he   was   expecting   a   lot   to   be   said   to   him   now   that   they   had   time   to   talk   (   as   if   the   reason   they   couldn’t   wasn’t   himself   )   but   those   words   ended   up   hitting   him   more   than   he   thought.   hyukmin   had   every   right   to   hate   him   for   how   he   treats   him   now   ,   especially   since   they’ve   known   each   other   longer   than   him   &.   his   new   friends.   there   was   no   rebuttal   towards   the   other   ,   for   donghyuk   knew   every   word   he   said   was   true.

       yet   it   was   the   eye   contact   that   got   him   feeling   the   worst.   something   about   staring   into   those   eyes   at   this   moment   made   him   freeze   up   like   a   criminal   being   surrounded   after   pulling   off   a   crime.   hyukmin   was   someone   he   swore   he’d   go   to   the  ends   of   the   earth   for.   too   bad   he   accidentally   pushed   him   off   the   edge.

      “   i   deserve   that   . . .    ”   donghyuk   nodded   his   head   ,   still   staring   him   in   the   eye   ,   “   you   have   every   right   to   feel   this   way   but   please   don’t   think   i   don’t   care   ,  ”   he   slowly   stood   up   ,   looking   at   the   other   male   with   regret.   “   i   fucked   up   ,  yes   but   you’re   always   in   my   heart.   let   me   make   this   to   you   ---   please.  let   me   show   you   i   still   care.  ”

it  was  hard  to  listen  to  the  other  explain  themselves.  during  the  entire  time  she  spoke  the  younger  did  his  best  to  hold  back  a  scoff.  there  was  no  way  anything  she  said  was  true.  sure  cyrus  had  a  tendency  to  be  rather  conceited  but  he  knew  how  yebin  was.  she  was  sneaky.  there  were  no  coincidences  when  it  came  to  her.  cyrus’s  eyebrows  drew  together  as  he  reached  into  his  front  pocket  to  check  the  time  and  surprisingly  there  were  no  missed  calls  or  messages.  his  date  had  definitely  bailed  on  him.  “  no  ,  you  cannot  be  curious  when  it  comes  to  an  ex.  i  think  that’s  borderline  stalking  if  you  ask  me.”  he  hissed  ,  simply  annoyed  by  the  other’s  words  as  he  pushed  his  phone  back  into  his  pocket.  once  she  leaned  in  to  test  him  cyrus  couldn’t  help  it  ,  his  lips  curved  into  a  smile.  her  pushing  back  at  him  with  her  venomous  words  were  what  drew  him  to  her  in  the  first  place.  she  was  unpredictable  and  intriguing.  but  this  wasn’t  the  time  to  let  his  thoughts  run  rampant.  he  was  pissed.  “  i  don’t  believe  in  destiny.  this  is  more  like  ,  you  meddling  in  my  life.”  his  smile  quickly  faded.  as  if  it  were  never  there  to  begin  with.  moving  back  down  in  his  seat  ,  he  glanced  up  at  the  other  dangerously.  “  yebin  ,  i’m  not  fucking  around.”  he  paused  ,  ignoring  her  question.  “  what  do  you  want  ?  why  are  you  here  ?  ” 

       when   he   pulled   out   his   phone   ,   yebin   had   a   urge   to   crack   a   shit  -  eating   grin   ,   but   his   next   statement   caught   her   off   guard.   “     borderline   stalking   ??   oh   ,   so   now   it’s   a   crime   that   i   care   about   you   after   we   broke   up   ?   ”    she   scoffed   ,   picking   up   her   wine   glass   and   nearly   downing   it.   there   were   no   lies   detected   in   her   words.   because   it   was   true.   cyrus   caught   her   eye   the   second   they   landed   on   him   &.   she   was   hoping   to   so   many   gods   out   there   that   maybe  he’d   give   her   a   chance.   of   course   things   didn’t   work   out   but   she  never   regretted   her   time   spent   with   him.   then   that   smile   appeared   during   their   stare   down   and   she   came   to  realize   that   there   was   a   reason   they   both   took   risky   chances   in  the   first   place.   “   meddling   ?   me   ?   i   would   never.   i   just   like   asking   questions.   is   that   a   problem   ?   ”   she  giggled  ,  shaking   her   head.   she   contained   a   dazzling   smile   even   with   the   intense   glare   he   was   giving   her.   “  why   am   i   here   ?   didn’t   i  just   tell   you   ?   the  fetticine   is   delicious   &.   i   craved   some.   you   should   really   try   it   ,   ”   she   slipped   the   last   part   in   ,   “   maybe   your   date   would’ve   liked   it.   ”

𝙹𝚄𝙿𝙸𝚃𝙴𝚁   𝚂𝙷𝚁𝚄𝙶𝚂   𝙸𝙽   𝚁𝙴𝚂𝙿𝙾𝙽𝚂𝙴.   ❛   well,   that’s   a   lot   better   than   sleeping   with   an   empty   stomach,   isn’t   it   ?   ❜   he   says   dryly.   but   it’s   not   like   he   can   actually   relate   to   that   situation.   he’s   been   rich   all   his   life   ;   even   if   his   dad   removed   him   from   the   family   trust   fund,   jupiter   wouldn’t   really   lose   anything   particularly   important.   besides,   he   married   rich.   ❛   it   is,   though,   ❜   he   snorts   out.   ❛   it   isn’t   a   walk   in   the   park.   but   yeah,   i   guess   you   can’t   really   get   rid   of   a   dream.   even   if   you   never   accomplish   what   you   wanted,   the   fact   that   you   want   it   doesn’t   change.   ❜   he   opens   up   his   own   soda   &   takes   a   sip.   jupiter   pauses   at   his   question,   unsure   whether   or   not   to   answer   when   it’s   such   a   personal   matter.   but   then   again,   he   figures   it’s   not   THAT   big   of   a   deal.   ❛   i   wouldn’t   really   call   it   failed,   ❜   he   offers,   ❛   but   i   do   want   to   start   a   family.   ❜

         his   chest   heaved   up   in   a   silent   laugh.   ❛   when   you   think   about   it   ,   both   are   equally   as   bad   ,   yeah   ?   ❜   having   to   live   through   both   when   he   was   younger   was   a   nightmare   within   itself   ,   but   thankfully   things   got   better   &.   he  never   seemed   to   be   returning   to   that   point   ever   again.   ❛   you   don’t  think  i   know   that   ?   ❜    he   rolled   his   eyes   ,   sipping   his   drink   once   more.   ❛   not   gonna   lie   ,   i   wish   it   was   easier   to   let   it   go.   guess   that’s   the   downfall   of   being   stubborn  . . .  ❜   he   let   out   a   dry   chuckle   ,   shaking   his   head   in   disbelief.   back   went   from   resting   against   the   furniture   to   being   hunched   over   ,   interests   now   peeked.   ❛   then   what’s   stopping   you   ?   i   think   you’d   be   a   pretty   kick   ass   dad   ,   ❜   the   male   shrugged.   ❛   what   ,   is   the   timing   not   right   ?   ❜

     she had noticed the item missing after searching for it the next day. looking behind her bed, in her drawers, kitchen, any place where it could be. but it was no where which left the young girl feeling both lost and confused. as her mind wandered back where she had it last the image of seungwoos face was the first to pop up. no, no way he could’ve taken it from her. he was too sweet for that. she dismissed the idea with the wave of her hand telling herself that it would turn up eventually. or at least she hoped it would. after many days of stress she decided maybe shopping for some new things for the house would relax her. she mindless scrolled through the pages of items being sold ,  stopping almost immediately when she sees the same piece of jewelry she had been missing for days was being sold. still she was in denial thinking to herself that maybe it was only a look-a-like of the one she was missing. that was until she clicked on the seller and his face appeared. “ no fucking way. ” she scoffed as she fell back into her chair into shock. it was after a few minutes of cursing him aloud and imagining strangling him that realized that she would need to buy her own necklace back before it was sold to someone else. without a second thought she clicked the purchase button and waited for a response for when to meet up, smiling wickedly when she finally received said message.   now here she was standing in front of the thief she once thought was a nice gentleman. she held her own smile back watching as the one on his began to fall. still keeping eye contact she grabbed the bag from him with a forced smile before sitting across from him. “ thank you. i think i’m going to really love this. “ she says while placing the bag onto her lap. “ do you mind telling me where you got it from? it looks awfully familiar! ”

          there   were   plenty   of   times   where   seungwoo   regretted   stealing   from   certain   people   as   he   could   no   longer   show   his   face   around   them   unless   he   had   a   death   wish   and   a   confrontation   kink.   the   girl   in   particular   was   a   prime   example   of   ruining   your   chance   :    not   only   was   she   his   particular   type   but   he   grew   fond   of   her   of   the  little   time   spent   together.   however   ,   business   was   business   &.   some   sacrifices   just   had   to   be   made.   still   ,   third   was   right   when   he   told   seungwoo   that   he   was   an   idiot   for   posting   the   stolen   item   on   the   account   with   his   face   on   it.   he   couldn’t   contain   himself   once   getting   a   hand   on   the   item  as   dollar   signs   took   over   his   vision.   sometimes   he   should   really   listen   to   his   partner   ----  not   today   nor   tomorrow   but   one   day   he   will.   brown   ,   doe   eyes   locked   with   the   woman   ,   him   turning   his   body   to   fully   face   her   as   his   ears   took   in   her   words.   an   award - winning   smile   laced   with   mischief   was   given   in   response   ,   his   drink   being   tilted   in   her   direction   in   agreement.   “  you   have  a   very   sharp   eye   for   jewelry   ,   miss   ,   ”   he   acted.   he   held   a   thinking  face   for   a   second   before   snapping   his   fingers   in   delight.   “   that   is   a   good   question.   why   don’t   i   have   my  people   talk   to   your   people   about   where   i   found   it   ?   ”   he   hurried   to  stand   ,   maybe   if   he   sprinted   away   fast   enough   he   can   get   himself   about   of   this.

     the smile that spreads across pilgu’s lips was hard to hide as the male wiggles his finger at sinclair. “right you are! which reminds me, we’re going for your first lesson right now, so come on,” pilgu responds, wasting no time in taking hold of his friend’s hand and dragging him towards his bed room. “i can fit you with one of my old pairs of skates and i have a new costume i’ve been wanting to practice in before the competition,” he explains. pilgu lightly shoves the other onto the edge of his bed, soon turning to his closet and fishing out a pair of skates. kneeling down in front of the other, he points at sinclair’s foot before tapping on his own knee. “let’s make sure they fit first.”

          “   wait   ,   right   now   ?!   as   in   ,   as   soon   as   possible   ?   ”     sinclair   was   highly   aware   that   pilgu   was  going   to   take   initiative   soon   but   he   didn’t   think   he   meant   so   soon.   while   it   was   going   to   be   fun   doing   something  that   the  other   loved   ,   the   sheer   nervousness   of   messing   up   too   much  &.   annoying   him  did  sink   in   quite   suddenly.   “   your   passion   both   amazes   me   yet   scares   me   to   death   ,   ”   he   spoke   out   once   his   body   landed   on   the   bed.   an   eyebrow   quirked   up   in   curiosity   ,   him   placing   the   foot   the   other   was   pointing   to   on   his   knee.   “   i   wonder   if   this   is   how   cinderella   felt   ?   ”   a   bubbly   laugh   erupted   from   his   throat   but   soon   his   tone   flipped.   “   i   kinda   like   your   old   costume.   it   was   unique.   ”

                                               she’d   found   him   interesting   when   they   first   met   ,   curious   to   learn   more   about   him   and   fill   any   tedious   gaps   in   her   life   .   they   turned   out   to   get   closer   than   she   expected   :      friends     ,     though   she   wouldn’t   delude   herself   that   he   won’t   walk   out   of   her   life   one   day   ,   especially   now   that   he’s   come   across   a   lot   of   money   .   she   keeps   those   thoughts   at   the   back   of   her   mind   ,   though   ,   a   waste   of   time   worrying   about   it   .    “    should   i   bite   you   instead   ?     ”        humour   glitters   her   tone   ,   cherry   mouth   upturned   only   marred   by   her   surprised   expression   at   all   the   gifts   laid   out   on   the   floor   .        “     wait   ,   is   it   my   birthday   ??        are   these   all   for   me   ?     ”            shocked   incline   of   her   brows   and   widening   of   a   doe-eyed   gaze   ,   walking   in   circles   around   the   shopping   bags   as   she   cerebrates   over   the   reason   for   the   sudden   devoting   act   .        “   wah   ,   amazing   .   i   feel   like   you’re   about   to   propose   to   me   or   something   !   ”        joke   wanes   ,   crouching   down   next   to   the   bags   as   she   looks   up   at   him   with   a   grin   .

                          it  was  weird  to  try  &.  describe  just  how  she  makes  him  feel   ;   hearing  her  laugh  would  instantly  make  his  worst  days  seem  not  so  bad   ,   and  that  adoring  smile  of  hers  could  melt  his  heart  in  a  second.   so  maybe  ,  just   maybe  that  was  the  true  reason  he  racked  up  almost  an  entire  mall  for  her.   every  gift  he  saw  that  made  him  grin  immediately  linked  to  back  the  cheerful  girl  ,  &.  he  was  more  than  ecstatic  to  buy  it.      “    it    scares    me   that   the   first   thing   that   comes   to   your   mind   is   biting   me   ,   ”      slight  worry  with  a  hint  of  humor  hung  onto  his  words   ,   thick   lips   curling  up  into  a  mischievous  grin.   the  sight  before  him  filled  his  body  with  glee  ,  like  he  accomplished  a  goal  he  yearned  so  long  to  do.      “    i’m   already   stuck   with   you   for   life.   might  as   well   put   a  ring   on   it  ,  ”   he  shrugged  ,  still  grinning.      “   seriously   ,   i   just   saw   things   that   reminded   me   of   you   &.   got   it.   no   special   occasion   is   needed   for   me   to   make   you   happy.   ”

      JACKLYN  WAS  NEVER  THE  TYPE  of  person  to  allow  mere  gossip  to  get  to  her  but  this  time  was  different.  she  received  a  text  from  a  number  she  could’ve  sworn  she  blocked  but  still  messaged  back  anyway.  when  the  other  wanted  to  speak  in  person  ,  she  hesitated  but  still  went.  what  she  didn’t  expect  was  to  be  told  that  they  were  still  in  love  with  their  ex   ---   jacklyn’s  new  partner.  while  she  ignored  them  and  immediately  left  ,  the  strange  feeling  that  they’d  go  back  to  her  was  eating  her  up  inside.  they  were  in  love  ,  and  love  was  strong  no  matter  what.  so  as  soon  as  her  partner  came  back  ,  she  kept  her  attention  on  nothing  while  sat  on  the  couch  ,  light  sniffling  can  be  heard  from  the  sudden  urge  to  cry.  ❛  if  you  could  go  back  to  your  ex  . . .  would  you  ?  ❜

    ❛  THANKS  AGAIN  FOR  WANTING  TO  help  me  bake  these  cookies  from  scratch.  austin  is  too  much  of  a  clean  freak  to  do  it  ,  ❜  seungwoo  gave  a  genuine  smile  to  other  as  stood  beside  him  in  the  kitchen.  both  aprons  they  had  on  were  dirty  as  well  as  the  piled  up  dishes  in  the  sink  but  the  sweets  that  they  made  were  done  and  ready  for  eating.  ❛  i’m  really  happy  you  moved  in  with  us  ,  honestly.  plus  you  bring  more  beauty  to  the  apartment  ,  ❜  he  smirked  ,  grinning  at  the  other.  just  as  he  was  checking  out  the  male  (  with  no  intentions  of  hiding  it  )  ,  he  looked  closely  at  the  other’s  face  and  used  his  thumb  to  wipe  off  some  flour  on  their  cheek.  ❛  seems  you  missed  a  spot  . . .  ❜  he  mumbled  ,  head  leaned  in  a  lot  closer  than  expected.  suddenly  the  front  door  opened  and  he  glanced  over  ,  rolling  his  eyes  at  the  male  entering.

      IT  WAS  CHILDISH  ,  completely  ridiculous  for  austin  to  be  feeling  this  way  over  his  friend  &.  roommate.  since  introducing  the  two  and  allowing  the  other  to  move  in  with  them  ,  he’s  been  feeling  like  a  third  wheel.  they  got  along  quickly  ,  as  the  taller  male  expected  ,  but  he  didn’t  imagine  it  was  gonna  be  this  fast.  don’t  get  austin  wrong  ,  he  was  excited  to  have  two  people  he  cared  about  deeply  under  one  roof  but  at  times  he  did  regret  it.  like  now  for  instance.  he  never  got  upset  at  seungwoo  cooking  before  but  seeing  them  in  close  proximity  irked  his  nerves.  ❛  so  i  see  you  two  baked  without  me.  must  be  nice  . . .  ❜  he  whispered  the  last  part  to  himself  as  he  trudged  inside  with  a  bag  of  supplies  for  the  house.  ❛  well  thankfully  you  helped  him  with  it.  otherwise  they’d  suck.  ❜  he  smiled  brightly  as  he  placed  the  bag  on  the  couch.
