Evening in the field with the family, moving the sheep onto fresh grass.

The lambs are all grazing now, but not yet interested in the grain. The ewes are very appreciative of a bit of grain feed, though Soay don't need it and can thrive on grass alone. Training then to come to the bucket, as it's called, can be a very useful management tool. Which is not to minimize the joys of just sitting quietly surrounded by beautiful half-wild animals who trust you.
