i wonder how Sky feels that Wren, who is older than him in years, who is the one that raised him yet isn’t his mom, his only friend for almost his entire life, the one who he has grown up with his entire life, is technically younger than him. Sky is an adult dragon (8). Wren is a teenager (15).
i wonder how he feels about humans aging so much slower and yet so much quicker than dragons. i wonder how he’ll feel decades from now, when he is now aging slower than her yet in the past he aged faster. how will he feel a century from now.
Wren is older than him by 7 years and yet she is still a child and he is not and she is the one that raised him.
i wonder how he feels

My initial sketches of some of the Dragonslayer main charecters, I’m trying to make them all very distinct and still interesting, I can’t wait to draw undauntable being smothered by his cat

Preach!
Sky is a character I think is utterly wasted potential in favour of making him a comedic relief character, where in his comedy only appeals to little, little kids as his jokes are pretty much obsessing over snails and being all cutesy like a toddler character.
He's an adult. He's the same age as his twin sister, Peril. I get that it's to contrast with her firey, traumatized, and rather mature nature, but still. He feels like a character that should've been so much more.
Think about it for a sec: a character who is raised outside of dragon culture. By a little scavenger girl no less. As he grows, he's an oddity. He'll never fully be a part of the scavenger world due to being, well, a dragon, but he's also so far removed from dragon society that he's virtually an outsider who has zero idea what to do or say. He's been told over and over again that the other dragons are dangerous by Wren. It's only until he's captured by the SandWings to be brought to Burn when he really gets a glimpse of dragon culture.
It's...fascinating. Sky has always been a curious soul, and right now he's learning so much about how dragons operate. Sure, yeah, the cage sucks and so does the constant looming dread of being killed and stuffed for being visibly disabled, but it's intoxicating how at home he feels. Once he's freed, a part of him misses that. The sights of watching the other dragons sit around and talk. They shared stories, opinions, and talked of things Sky never knew existed before.
More than ever, he feels like he's caught between two worlds. He doesn't want to leave Wren– or worse, bring her along and put her in danger, but a part of him likes the dragon society. He wants more. He wants to be friends with somebody other than a fourteen year old girl. He feels like a stranger to everyone around him. His interests and behaviour towards dragons is off-putting, but he only wants to be liked.
I'm spit-balling ideas, but honestly I would genuinely love for Sky to be treated with a crumb of care and appreciation for what his character could've been, cause right now, he's just a toddler character masquerading as an adult. I'm so sick of the baby characters at this point, especially when they come at the expense of tension, tone, and, in Sky's case, actually interesting character writing.

Whoever you are, let's be friends. I 100% agree on this idea and I now have the perfect idea to write a fanfic of this idea. Thank you.
It sounds kind of mean but I lowk want Sky to go through something at least a little bit traumatic and mind changing so he gets a little more depth to his character. Like yeah I know he was throw off a cliff or something along those lines as a baby but he def doesn't remember that shit, and if he does it's probably not a lot. I want something terrible to happen to him that gives him some new perspectives to the world and how people think. I want to see how he copes with a life changing event that leaves his life more difficult. I want to see how Wren helps him through his worst moments and how he grows. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love his fun and whimsy, and they don't need to take that away at all, I love his silliness!! But I want to see how he handles thing that seem like too much, I want to watch him struggle and climb his way back on top.

Sky showin’ his sister a snail :)
Lil sketchy drawing I threw together. Wanted to make them look similar, but totally different at the same time. Sky’s got much rounder shapes, whereas Peril is pointy. They’re both kinda thin and lanky and share a little bit of the same face and smile. Sky isn’t blushing, I just wanted to give him rosy cheeks.

I think Loid has successfully fooled the audience because why do some people still think he’s in it for the mission? He tried to punch someone for making Anya cry and he barley even knew her at that point
