pulling this info from the tags:
#futa and herm are slurs for intersex people also #just use the word bigenital #or dualsex #or salmacian
PSA post
Hello ao3 smut fanfiction omegaverse fanfiction tumblr.
Intersex does not mean bigenital. Please stop tagging bigenital characters as intersex, please and thank you
In fact, "intersex = penis & vagina" is a horrendously common fetishistic stereotype about us. Please stop perpetuating stereotypes that get us sexually assaulted. Tag your shit correctly.
- Sincerely, an intersex person who is completely unable to find anything in fandom spaces representative of ACTUALLY intersex bodies because intersex tags are filled with stereotype porn that isn't actually representative of our bodies or experiences

Going through my archives of ‘Star Trek: The Magazine’ I found all this great early concept art for Deep Space Nine. I love the eclectic, warn look of the station. It reminds me of the setting for my favorite Robert Heinlein novel, ‘The Moon is a Harsh Mistress

On a scale of Steve Rogers to Miles Vorkosigan:
How well do you balance your ambition to live up to your father's military career with your physical disabilities?
How well do you cope with finding out someone tried to replicate the process that made you who you are and failed miserably?
How invested are you in maintaining a secret identity?
How well do you handle waking up from cryogenic suspension?
How well do you handle people's assumption that you are from a much more unpleasant culture than the society they consider home?
How well can you out-stubborn beloved childhood friends who run after you to try to stop you from what they consider bad decisions?
How well do members of the gender you're attracted to react to seeing you shirtless, especially if they could wipe the floor with you?
How often do you find yourself gravitating to people trapped in torturous, abusive relationships?
How easily do you make friends with the outcomes of mad science?
How often do you self-medicate your mental health challenges with substances that would kill anyone else?

I know "60s housewives who invented slash fanfiction" has taken on a life of its own as a phrase, but Kirk/Spock didn't really exist until the 70s and THOSE WOMEN HAD JOBS. They were teachers and librarians and bookkeepers and scientists and they damn well spent their own money going to conventions, printing zines, buying fanart and making fandom happen. Put some respect on their names.
