jolyene simmons, 24 years old, journalist, filipino/british
works for a newspaper publisher in london. she often roams around london always searching for new material to write her next article. she tends to take whatever story she finds, then stretches and twists it to make it what she calls “headline worthy”. she’s gaudy and eccentric, but she’s also a pretty amiable person and is hardly outright-rude

layton and luke aren’t very fond of her. they’re aware of her mischief - she once wrote an article on luke’s ability to talk to animals in a distasteful light. she dgaf vro. she finds they seem to be the centre of a lot of action, especially with the professor’s reputation of going on adventures and puzzle solving, so she often tries to approach and pester with questions and interviews, sometimes resorting to bribery to have them comply. they never do though

in her free time, she likes to make desserts, and shes GOOD at it, her specialty being baked goods.
she likes to use unnecessary honourifics and nicknames. she calls layton “missus professor” and luke “bellboy” (because he’s always by layton’s side running errands and such)
