⚡️has a huge fear of spiders

⚡️called Doc “dad” during practice and was super embarrassed and kept spiraling the whole day meanwhile Doc was ecstatic but didn’t want to freak Lightning out by bringing it up

It’s been a while… I’ve been busy saving the city

He hates driving

Like he loves racing and driving around RS but when it comes to actual cities, he rather take a bus or have someone drive

Flo taught him to sew after he kept getting holes in his clothes from his adventures with Mater

Always has a damn knee brace on

Bed rots for one week after race season

Doc makes sure he eats tho and allows it

Just silly lil guy things

He needs the break after going months with constant cameras in his face

Sally plays guitar and taught him a bit

I like to imagine that Sally will play the guitar at Flo’s and everyone will force Lightning up there and they do a cute lil duet

I’ve mentioned it before, but I headcanon Lightning to be from the Midwest and he has an accent when he’s angry or talks really fast

Like imagine someone passing through the town goes to Flo’s and is a total dick and Lightning cusses him out but no one expects whatever Midwest slang he spits out

Anyway, the man storms out after being humbled and everyone is the diner who knows Lightning personally has to hold back their laughter

Lightning is embarrassed and Sally says it’s not bad

Secretly shes happy someone was recording because she was working that afternoon

Humanized Lightning McQueen headcanons: angst edition

Going insane chat idk

Secretly still feels like an outsider in radiator springs

It took him MONTHS before he finally became comfortable

He’s really good at hiding his emotions

Especially since Harv had him put on a cocky persona for the camera

Doesn’t feel like he deserves the love from the town

Still doesn’t handle loss well

Everyone will reassure him that they’re not disappointed with him if he loses but he struggles to believe them

Parents are divorced (his mom left when he was really young and his dad was abusive)

Racing was his only escape

Harv hired him when he was only 17

Has panic attacks but never knew what they were until Doc found him one day and explained after talking him through it

Doc recommended medication

It helped Lightning but he is embarrassed to talk about it

When he became friends with Cal, he opened up after Cal casually mentioned he takes them too

He will downplay injuries so he can still race

During his first few months in Radiator Springs, he ended up twisting his ankle and hid it from Doc

His recovery time was longer, which led him to spiral when he should’ve been resting

He can’t stand missing out on practice

He’s been putting on a cocky persona for so long that sometimes his cocky attitude will slip out and he will have to apologize immediately

Everyone reassures him that they never take it to heart (sometimes they get a good laugh out of it) but Lightning can’t help but feel guilty

It’s 4am and I have cars brain rot again !!
