Ok so just watched clips from the podcast interview with the mayor of Belleville and he reveals the two soldiers who bring the wheat on stage and try to kidnap Mikey are called 'the twins',, which reminded me heavily of the original Black Parade characters Fear and Regret who are portrayed as being twin girls.

Maybe it's some sort of parallel
