⋆｡‧˚ʚ how to start an age regression / inner child healing journal ɞ˚‧｡

🌷 content warning: very brief, un-descriptive mentions of having trauma 🌷

1. find a notebook you'd like to use ! this can look different for everyone. I picked a journal at the craft store with a pretty design on the front, but you could also use a simple composition book, a notepad or you could even keep a digital journal ! I personally prefer to have two diaries, one is for everyday boring "big-kid" stuff, and the other one is my agere journal ! ૮꒰˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶꒱ა if you'd like, you can combine them, but i personaly find keeping my trauma-processing stuff off to the side is helpful to me. 💛

2. brainstorm what things you'd like to accomplish with your therapy journal ( if any ! ) and what you'd like to write in it. you could set light hearted goals to reconnect with your childhood, process scary things that happened / everyday stressors , or to just keep it for fun ! remember that you don't need to know everything right away, though ! 🧸

for me, my goals are to understand trauma and learn how to grow from it, but I also like to draw pictures, write about the tinier parts of my day, do some affirmations , and follow simple prompts I find online. I will also use it as a tool to track triggers , trauma responses and anxieties to help myself better understand why I felt that way and know how to ground myself better during those scary moments . I also use it to write down thoughts or things I'd like to bring up with my therapist. ( my parents finally got me set up to see a therapist !! yay ! I am a minor so she is a pediatric therapist so she's extra gentle which is so nice hehe )

3. If you'd like, you can decorate the inside pages and the cover with all sorts of fun craft materials ! I like to use stickers and wash tape, but if you don't have those, you can print some pictures out and glue or tape them in ! If you don't have access to a printer, you could use one for free at a local library or at your school. you can also use markers, crayons, colored pencils, or whatever else you'd like to decorate the inside with fun drawings or to make some little worksheets for yourself to paste inside . maybe if you have someone to look after you or a little friend, you can ask them to come up with some for you to do ! 🩷 I like to make notes for my best little friend, wimsy, through dms hehe ! ૮꒰ྀི∩´ ᵕ ` ꒱ྀིა

4. you could make lists of things, too ! I like to list my favorite songs, all of my toys names, what I wanna do when it gets warmer outside, anything !

5. I find it helpful to make charts for stuff that can be challenging when having an icky day or feeling mentally unwell, like brushing my teeth or making sure that my pet chores are all taken care of. ( don't worry !! if I forget to give my kitty treats she will ask my mom hehe ! /lh ) I like to use a reward system, like if I brush my teeth two times every day for a whole week, I can have two breaks during homeschool. 🖍️

Caregiver Tips: how to take care of an atypical regressor

Know what they need And what's the best way to find out? Asking them. What things do they like doing when they're little? What things make them feel bad? What would they like you to do? Some atypical regressors hate being reminded of how they're not their usual age, while some love it when you treat them like a little kid. Communicate with your little, and I assure you they'll be a lot happier.

What makes them atypical? Is it the age they regress to? Do they behave differently than most other regressors? Do they hate regressing? Do they not stand when people patronize them? Do they simply not like cutesy stuff? Depending on what it is, your little will need a different treatment. Talk to them, spend time with them, and see what makes them feel best.

Ask their boundaries What petnames can you call them? Do they want you to treat them like a baby, or like you do normally? Do they need strict rules, or they'd rather have more freedom? If you can, ask them this when they're big, just in case any question you make upsets them.

Make some rules Based on their boundaries and little age, they'll need different rules. Do Not use what typical caregivers use, because it'll likely be different. For example, when I'm little my cgs let me watch any horror movie, as long as it's not +18; this isn't because they're bad carers, but because I like horror and can handle it just fine even when little (although, I usually just watch Paw Patrol...XD). If your little likes something most other kids don't, and they won't get hurt by it, I say go ahead and let them do it! If you're concerned for their safety, you can be with them while they do. (Extra tip: if your little likes cursing, let them curse! It'll be worse to upset them by scolding them when they do (unless it makes You uncomfy ofc))

Reassure them Many atypical littles feel invalid, and really out of place in the agere community. You need to remind them how being different doesn't mean they're doing something wrong, and how you love them just the way they are. No matter what they like, how they talk, if their regressions helps them or triggers them...all littles are valid. No matter what<3

°×~.This post will be all about purchasing pacis, how to do it, how to pick the right kind, recommendations for shops, tips on what to look out for and terminology.~×°

Step 1. Terminology

Paci- adult pacifier. Teet- the mouthpiece

Centerpiece- a charm or image on the button of the pacifier

Gen 1/2 etc.- refers to the shape of the paci

Base- used with deco pacis to refer to kind of paci that will be decorated

Custom- a decorated pacifier made just for you

Deco level- how heavily the pacifier will be decorated

2. How to pick the right kind

°×~.There are lots of things to watch out for when choosing your pacifier, from shape to color to mouthpiece and brand. I explained all of the common ones here.~×°

Gen 1- these pacis are the ones you can see on top in the image with terminology, they have a comfortable sensory input and are the most common shape, you can get them almost anywhere and they are often the cheapest option, they can come in lots of colors and with a lot of teets

Gen 2- these pacifiers look a little like bones, and come in quite a few colors but not as many as gen 1 and they come exclusively with the clear teets

Gen 3- these pacifiers look a lot like classic mam pacifiers and come in quite a few colors but they are only sold by little for big which makes me recommend not to purchase them as to not support this brand

Bear bases- these bear shaped bases from land of genie are adorable, they have a great sensory input just like the others and come with a clear teet but only a selection of colors, plus they are very accessible as they can be found on Amazon

Butterfly bases- these bases are similar to hen 1 pacia but the little holes at the top of the shield resemble fairy/butterfly wings, they are also from land of genie and come with a clear teet

Moon bases- these bases from land of genie are some of my favorites, they come with a clear teet and resemble gen 3 bases but with a handle

Baby your doll bases- these round vintage looking bases are beautiful and come with a long beige silicone teet, they are exclusively sold by baby your doll and really comfortable

Silicone bear paci- this is a full silicone paco sold by baby your doll which comes in a few colors, has the same length mouth piece as the round ones and the "shield" part resembles bear

Round bases- these bases are the dupe version of the baby your doll pacifiers and visually very similar for the small detail of having 3 holes except 4 and some plastic dots on the handle, they also come with a different teet which is a lot shorter than the usual one

Smile pop bases- these bases look a little like a version of the gen 1 if it was drawn from memory and is super cute and very comfortable, they can be bought from smile pop or over resellers and come with a clear teet in a range of colors

No handle bases- these bases are sold by the same company as the smile pop bases and the same resellers, they come in the same colors and with a clear teet, they have a very unique shape and are very comfortable

Heart hole bases- these pacis look similar to grn 1 bases with a bigger button and heart shaped holes, they are very cute and comfortable and come with a clear teet which is different in shape to the normal clear ones, it doesn't deflate in these bases and is longer, they come in a range of colors and are sold by cutie plus you

Butterfly bases 2- these bases look like very classic baby pacifiers sized up, I have yet to try them but they come with lots of colors and prints and are very pretty and come with the same teet

Small shield bases 1- these bases resemble classic baby pacifiers in shape and size and come with a clear adult teet in lots of colors, they are comfortable and cute

Small shield bases 2- these bases look like classic baby pacifiers in shape and size, come in a range of colors and with a clear teet, some of them even have a print, you can get them on things like AliExpress and over resellers

Full silicone pacis- lil comforts sell full silicone pacis in two shapes and lots of colors, they are very pretty but u have yet to try them I do hear they are great for chewing

3. How to order a deco paci

°×~.Ordering a paci or other item can be overwhelming and scary so here is a small guide to walk you through the process.~×°

Step one- find a shop you like the style of, that has good reviews and the center pieces you like

Step two- message the shop about the pacifier you would like to purchase, if you want a custom make sure they are currently open for those kind of orders

Step three- now you and the seller will discuss details like shipping price, payment options and details if you are ordering a custom

Step four- now it's time to be patient, most shops are a small business so it may take some time to complete and/or ship out your order, it's okay to ask if you have waited longer than they said but be respectful, they are a person too

Step five- open up your package and enjoy, don't forget to leave a review and let the seller know you received your item

4. What to watch out for

°×~.when picking the shop you want to buy from you have to be careful about a few things, here is a list of important stuff to look out for. Don't be shy to ask people for their experience.~×°

Does the shop have good reviews?

Can you find photos of customers with their items?

Do you know someone who worked with the shop before, what was their experience?

Does the shop have a history of positive reviews and happy customers?

👑Tips for littles on a budget👑

This is some tips for tinies (or carers looking for gifts for kiddos) on a budget! Of course you don't need any gear to be a good regressor but a lot of us like toys etc. and it's okay to want them!

🧸thrift stores, a lot of thrift stores have toys and plushies, sometimes they are a bit broken or dirty but there are lots of tutorials on YouTube for cleaning and restoring plushies and toys🧸

🐾e-books, you can find kids books online as e-books which are often pretty cheap or you can watch tiktoks of people reading those books🐾

🩷diy onesies, a lot of regressors like onesies but the prices are pretty steep, if you can't afford them don't fret! Its super easy and affordable to make one yourself all you need is an old t-shirt and snap buttons plus a way to attach them, just get a big t-shirt, sweatshirt or even hoodie and add 2-4 snap buttons in the crotch, boom you have a super cute and discreet onesie!🩷

🧸diy toys, there are lots of toys you can make yourself either by sewing or crafting and there's lot soft videos on YouTube for it, or get creative🧸

🐾mobile games, I love to play video games when im regressed but game consoles are expensive so free mobile games are a great alternative🐾

🩷dollar store etc, while you shouldn't rely on stores or websites that use cheap labor for everything it's okay to make exceptions every now and then, especially for toys, pacis, sippy cups and similar🩷

🧸pull ups, instead of cute printed diapers get big kid pull-ups in the baby-section or medical diapers from a drugstore, they are less then half the price of a pack of adult diapers from brands like tears etc.🧸

🐾learn to diy, making things yourself is often the most affordable thing to do, not with everything obviously but with a lot of things, learn as much stuff as you can so you can make lots of gear yourself🐾

🩷look for affordable stores, lots of paci stores on Instagram are very affordable and the ones that aren't often have sales so keep an eye out for that, lots of shops also have promoter codes they are happy for you to use, for example with my code 'bunnybab' you get a small discount at pacisbybunnie and cozypacicorner🩷

🧸buy second hand, thrift stores are a great place but if you want little specific stuff looking on vinted, swoop or even insta is a great idea! Lots of people sell gear they no longer connect with🧸
