hey question. did you name your lovely oc laika after laika the russian space dog? bc while i dont know much of your ocs story, i remember seeing one of your pieces where theres a quote that says "i will die for a world i never got to see" and it reminded me of laika the dogs story with how she was sent to space. might be a reach on my end but just wanted to ask since im endlessly curious about your story and characters🫶

laika is born from a deal between a lonely immortal scientist and a god who’s very pissed that this scientist exists. This scientist, laikas father, was sure he’d die very soon and he begged the god to give him a companion so he wouldn’t live his last few years alone. This god gave him a baby. He would get to raise and love this baby, but the gods gift of life would have to be returned. If it wasn’t returned, there would be consequences. Laikas father makes this deal, selfishly. Laikas existence, and eventually her fate, was predetermined. She has no say on how things would play out. She gets no choice, but she loves her father very much.
