In computing, WYSIWYG (/ˈwɪziwɪɡ/ WIZ-ee-wig), an acronym for What You See Is What You Get, is a system in which editing software allows content to be edited in a form that resembles its appearance when printed or displayed as a finished product, such as a printed document, web page, or slide presentation.

A WYSIWYG (pronounced "wiz-ee-wig") editor or program is one that allows a developer to see what the end result will look like while the interface or document is being created. WYSIWYG is an acronym for "what you see is what you get". A WYSIWYG editor can be contrasted with more traditional editors that require the developer to enter descriptive codes (or markup ) and do not permit an immediate way to see the results of the markup. The first true WYSIWYG editor was a word processing program called Bravo. Invented by Charles Simonyi at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center in the 1970s, it became the basis for Simonyi's work at Microsoft and evolved into two other WYSIWYG applications called Word and Excel .

An HTML WYSIWYG editor, such as Microsoft's FrontPage or Adobe's PageMill conceals the markup and allows the Web page developer to think entirely in terms of how the content should appear. One of the trade-offs, however, is that an HTML WYSIWYG editor sometimes inserts the markup code it thinks is needed all on its own. Then, the developer has to know enough about the markup language to go back into the source code and clean it up.

Imaging and Design for Online Environment is an online graphics and layouts that taught me many effective things in order for me to use image design and its advantages. In this lesson I had learned the basic principles of graphics and layouts. It has balance, emphasis, movement, pattern, repetition and rhythm, proportions, and variety.

The lesson taught me many effective things in order for me to use image design and its advantage. I understood that the basic principles of graphics and layout are so simple and it is easy to use. It helped me also on how to create a creative Infographic Information graphics or infographics are graphic visual representations of information, data or knowledge intended to present information quickly and clearly. They can improve cognition by utilizing graphics to enhance the human visual system’s ability to see patterns and trends. I can now understand and use several file formats used on the web namely jpeg, GIF, Png etc. It also taught me on how to easily manipulate images.

  Research Skills  “Research” sometimes just means finding out information about a topic. You can certainly develop advanced information retrieval skills in Working with Sources. However, in specific understandings of “research” carry a lot of weight. The classic definition is that “research” leads to an original contribution to knowledge in a particular field of inquiry by defining an important question or problem and then answering or solving it in a systematic way.  So you will need to read on to develop a relevant understanding of what research means in your subject.  

 Important aspects of research: Research design covers the key issues in developing a successful research project.  Research methods takes you to resources on essential techniques for carrying out convincing research.  Working with data will provide resources on the use of statistics and other numerical skills in research.
