back in April 2024, I asked tumblr users to give me their opinions on AI Art / Generative Art for an assignment that I was working on at the time

since it is now 2025 and I am out of school, I would like to ask this again. I plan to rewrite my assignment because I do not enjoy how I wrote it originally. the assignment was me speaking about why AI Art is bad

I am mostly looking for opinions about why it's bad because that is exactly what I am writing about. I would prefer not to be given any positives about it since as mentioned multiple times, I am writing about why it's not a good thing. shrug

also if anyone could, I would love to get examples of AI I can use in the google doc since I only know so little

hey chat now that we're approaching artfight again, here's a reminder of something i dont see much

no, im not going to say anything like "update your profile" or "update your character refs"

im saying that its completely okay to not participate. in my last year, i only did it because i felt like i had to even though i genuinely didnt enjoy it. i did my best, but i just dont handle that kind of competition well- i cling too hard to the "competition" part and i put too much pressure on myself.

its okay if you dont like it. you dont have to be in artfight to make gift art for people, whether they're friends or strangers.

i dont know if anyone needs to hear this, but if anyone does, its okay. you dont have to participate. you dont have to force yourself to join. and if you do want to participate, then remember that you dont have to draw any more than you want to. you dont have to comment on attacks. you dont have to revenge.

sure, those are the "nice" things to do and those are expected, but there are no rules saying you have to and its quite frankly stupid for people to be throwing tantrums over it.

its a friendly competition fully centered around giving and receiving art.

even as someone who doesnt participate anymore, the #1 thing you can do to make it more enjoyable is remember that nobody has to revenge your attacks or comment on them and neither do you !!! its completely okay !!!!

yeah in college i played it and couldn't beat that spider woman level so i had to get my college girlfriend to beat it for me. unfortunately for me she was a pagan and after we broke up she hexed me and I was attacked by wild animals for nearly four months. but we're on okay terms now. I guess what I learned is to not mess with witch stuff and that polyamory is just not for me. I'd try undertale again though.
