House of the Dragon part ten, final - Silverwing.
Honestly the best for last! She's my absolute top for all the designs shown so far. Simple color scheme, gorgeous crown of horns, spiked throat pouch and very defined personality despite very short screen time 🫀 EDIT: I know there is plenty more dragons in the show and the story, but for now I'm gonna pause. We will be back to it with the next season! :D

Quick little video tutorial! This is a method I use to block in shapes when I’m fighting the urge to polish my lineart at an early stage, especially in rough concept art that doesn’t actually need polished lineart.
I group two layers in photoshop—a rough sketch, and a flat color—and then carve out the negative space by painting into a mask on the group, instead of filling in the positive shapes. From there I can start painting and adding shading into that group, knowing that I’ve already locked down a good initial silhouette for the object/character:
It feels like oil painting, and I end up finding silhouettes/shapes in a way I wouldn’t if I was obsessively cleaning up the linework first. Digital art has a tendency to veer towards cleanliness/polish, so I love finding little opportunities for happy accidents and a bit of mess!
I used it on my unicorn piece last month, for instance, which I think would have lost a lot of its dynamism and charm if I had worried too much about doing a full ink pass:

Hope this is at all helpful! It’s not a method I use 100% of the time, but it really helps move my process along when I do need it 👍🏼

Hello 👋
I follow your art for a little while now. I think it's so extremely cool to have someone who worked on Castlevania the animated serie (aka the most gorgeous to me!) that do fanart for my fav game (and maybe my fav BG companion? Very close to Gale anyway)
I think your Oc is gorgeous too. I just adore red hair with thick wavy hair... He's so delicate!
I want to binge everything I can find on them, but from the beginning. I admit I skipped a bit of their lore to focus on your art, but I'm interested!
What's the very iteration of them? Their first drawing? Do you have a place were you stock informations about them? Do you recommend to be followed here on tumblr or twitter or other?
Thank you!
This is so sweet to hear, thank you ;; Clover made his appearance last year:

It's always interesting looking back on how I first draw a character. I can see myself feeling it out because I don't know them very well yet.
I'm endlessly touched by you all who have shown interest in him as a person ❤️ I can't communicate the depth of happiness that makes me feel. I have to work my tail off before my trip at the end of the month, but after that the plan is to make like a Clover lore masterpost that I update as needed.
In the meantime please feel free to look through my bg3 tag because I'm pretty good about tagging his text posts, if you don't mind sorting through the art.

Drawtober day 13: -? ???
No prompt for this one, just honoring my recent identity crisis with some art. Some melodramatic context under the cut:
This past week I discovered that I am autistic, and I spent my entire life covering up most of my personhood to keep those around me happy.
smiling constantly, keeping a "polite" tone of voice, saying what I believe is most agreeable rather than what I actually believe, "dumbing" myself down... all of these actions have led to detrimental impacts on my mental and physical wellbeing. My entire life, I felt like I was playing the role of a human, rather than accepting that I too, am a person. Just wired differently.
I have always seen it as "safer" to isolate myself from society at large, to the point of moving to the middle of absolute nowhere. The older I got, the more I felt like a pacing, caged circus animal made to perform. My hatred and resentment for society(tm) at large grew, and many times I sought to completely abandon every good person in my life, so I did not have to "pretend" anymore.
There are so many roles in life I do not understand the point of. Why am I expected to do and say certain things because of the parts I was born with? Why must I fit the narrative of what makes other people comfortable? Why must I make eye contact for my words to be taken seriously? Why do I have to change myself to be accepted? Why don't I feel things the same way as other people do?
I can't do it anymore. If people are made uncomfortable by my lack of polite, agreeable femininity, then they are welcome to pound sand. Looking at my life through the lens of being autistic felt like the final missing piece. The keystone to my sense of self worth. I am not bad or wrong. I do not owe anyone an explanation of who I am in order to exist and be happy.
For the first time in my entire adult life, I am not pretending, and nobody can take this from me.

Some of y’all’s games sound like they go like this:
DM: a strange glowing rune floats in the air
Wizard: i roll arcana to see if it’s magical *natural 1*
DM: the mystical glowing rune floating in the air appears perfectly natural and mundane
