A FATHER and son camping trip was one of the many things Red had never had growing up. So of course he was excited, but this. Well-- wasn’t going as planned. Snow lined his sneakers; crept through his gloves, flakes landing and melting against pallid skin. Their chilling presence against his face coming with a warmth of familiarity. One he knew, both loved and hated. However, Lance refused to step foot out of the tent ever since the snow began to fall. Peculiar.

KNEELING DOWN in front of the zipped tent door; knuckles batted against the fabric; a make shift knock, perhaps he could coax his father from the shelter. Maybe he just loathed the cold. It wasn’t exactly an uncommon thing. Yet, Red couldn’t help but think that his father had been acting strange ever since the snow reached the ground, prior to that; he seemed fine. This was-- worrying.

                      ‘ Dad? Come on, are you just going to sit in the tent the whole time? ’
