Im a 34 year old substitute teacher who also Cosplays. One of the most important things in my life is my faith. I've been a Christian pretty much since I was born, and its a huge part of my life. I've said this before and I'll say it again: I wont push my beliefs onto you...but I'll definitely have things to say. If you have questions, feel free to ask me. I tend to tumble alot of things. It might be cosplay related stuff, Doctor Who, Final Fantasy, or just anything nerdy in that regard. Oh, and I have a weakness for cute things like Corgis.

Quick Review of Sega Genesis Classics
So a massive collection of Genesis games came out a few months go. So I want to give a brief take on all the games of this collection. Brace yourself, we’re in for a long haul. Alex Kidd in Enchanted Castle: I grew up playing this game, but I have to say, it has not aged well. Its not as good as Alex Kidd in Miracle World. It has its charm with the items, but the actual platfrming and attacking is a bit wonky. I wont say its bad, but there better games in this collection (2.5/5) Alien Soldier I...haven’t played this game yet.....so, no grade Alien Storm Another port of an arcade game. This port sadly lost some of the content from the Arcade version, but i still dig it as a quick little arcade port. I like the changes in the game play (switching from a general beat-em up to a FPS gallery, to a side scrolling shooter). Its a bit short, and can be a bit challenging, but honestly, its pretty decent. 3/5 Altered Beast Oh Altered Beast....so infamous. This was a pack in release title for the genesis, and it definitely shows. Very short, barely any replay value. I still like it...in a cheesy sort of way. You can beat it in like 15 minutes if you know what you’re doing. 2/5 Beyond Oasis This is a pretty good action/adventure game that has some nice gameplay similar to Streets of Rage. Also, Yuzo Koshiro does the music...but IMO its not his best word. Definitely a fun title. 4/5 Bio-Hazard Battle Haven’t played this yet either... Columns A challenging puzzle game that is once again an arcade port. It is pretty basic though with only a few variations of game modes, and no “Vs. Computer” option. Not to say its bad, but its very bare bones. 3/5 Columns III Having a Vs. Computer mode for this game was a great idea...in practice. Playing it is very slow paced and matches can take a long time. It does have up to 5 players which is cool...but im not sure if thats even possible now. None-the-less, too little too late. 2/5 Comix Zone. Now we get onto the heavy hitters. This is a creative action game where you’re literally playing through a comic book. Its brutally hard though, but rewarding. IF you can get past the difficulty curve, you’re in for a good time 4/5 Crack Down Shoot enemies, stop bombs. Rinse, repeat. Another arcade port. Its a bit ambitious for its time, but a bit too repetitive at times. Not bad, not good IMO. 2/5 Decap Attack A unique platformer that sadly got Americanized with its localization. Instead of a cutesy platformer, you get this horror themed game. I never quite got into it, but honestly its not abad game. Its probably just the theme that I never liked. If you can get past that, you will find a decently unique platformer. 3/5 Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine The game that introduced me to Puyo Puyo. I love Puyo Puyo. This game however is frustrating because of its difficulty. A shame considering that Puyo Puyo is a fun series. Considering that there are multiple puyo puyo games other places (Puyo Puyo Tetris comes to mind) I can only recommend this one mildly. 3/5 Dynamite Heady Another creative platformer. This game is challenging, but its also very fun and has catchy music. This one gets a high recommendation because of its uniqueness. 4/5 ESWAT: City Under Siege Rather than porting the Rolling Thunder like arcade game, we get an original game thats a platformer. Its not bad, but it can get pretty hard at times. You have to utilize the weapons that you have to effectively beat it. Challenging, a bit short, but still worth playing IMO. 3.5/5 Fatal Labyrinth An often overlooked Rogue-Like RPG that can be unintentionally hilarious at times. Its simple, a bit difficult, but imo fun. Be prepared to die...alot! 3/5 Flicky Another arcade port...a cutesy one at that. Simple, harmless, and not much else to be said about it. 3/5 Gain Ground Hey, another arcade port. One thats pretty unique too. You have to be strategic with how you are going to go through each level with your characters. Not too bad to be honest. 3/5 Galaxy Force II I love this game...in the arcade (or on 3DS). On genesis however...not so much. This is a very bad port that waters down everything from the speed, the graphics, and the music. If anything play it on 3DS and skip this one. 1/5 Golden Axe An arcade port that actually ADDs to the game with a few extra levels. Its a decent port, but having that extra stuff makes it a bit better IMO.  4/5 Golden Axe II More of the same, but with a few better graphics and music. While the arcade was reveling in the awesomeness that was Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder, we sadly got this game that couldn’t measure up to it.  3/5 Golden Axe III Add more characters, and change the formula. Good way to try keep the formula fresh...at least on paper. But in practice, it was bland, ugly, and just not good. 1/5 Gunstar Heroes This could be said as Sega’s answer to Contra, and it definitely shows. In your face action, fast paced greatness. Its challenging, but rewarding, and definitely one of the best games in the collection. 5/5 Kid Chameleon This game is very divisive. Its an interesting platformer that has alot of secrets traps, and frustration. Its long (unless you know what you’re doing). Some like it, some dont. Im one of the few that like it and its brutality, but I can understand why people dont like it. 3/5 Landstalker Climax made this game, and you can tell because it has alot of the things that make it like Shining Force. And so far, I dig it. No grade yet. Light Crusader Haven’t played it yet   Phantasy Star II This game...hasn’t aged well. I really like it. I think it has a great story, but has not aged well. Somewhat grindy at parts, and the third act can be very slow. If you can get past these parts, its a great JRPG. But mileage may vary.  *notice: If playing on PC, try to find a modernization patch through the steamworkshop that’ll fix those issues* 3/5 Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom Great on paper with the generation system that essentially makes possible multiple endings, but everything else is bland and confusing. The weakest of the series none-the-less. 2/5 Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millenium HOLY CRAP, without question one of the best RPGs on Genesis. This game would fully be appreciated if you played PS, and PSII, but even so, its a great game with an excellent story, great music. The total package...and considering how much this game cost on Genesis (up to $100!) you’re getting a great deal. 5/5 The Revenge of Shinobi IMO, one of the original killer apps for Genesis. Great action, excellent Yuzo Koshiro soundtrack, and overall great package. Some of the controls are a bit stiff, but overall well worth it. 4/5 Ristar Another unique platformer that I feel kinda got forgotten about. Its very creative, and has alot of fun moments. A bit slower than something like Sonic, but still very fun. 4/5 Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi Not a direct sequel to Revenge of Shinobi, but more of a side story. Plays more arcadey like classic Shinobi. One hit and your dead. Might be a bit of a turn off, but the challenge is balanced. Not as good as Revenge, but still good IMO. 4/5 Shining Force If Phantasy Star filled the traditional RPG niche for Genesis, then Shining Force filled in the strategy RPG niche, and it did it darn well. Simple strategic gameplay, but still deep enough strategy to be challenging. A great start for a series that sadly has gone by the wayside. 4/5 Shining Force II More of the same with Shining Force one, but in my opinion a bit more balanced and better.  If you enjoyed the game above, you’ll enjoy this one even more. 5/5 Shining in the Darkness Another traditional JRPG on this collection. The plot is very simple and the gameplay is pretty basic for a dungeon crawler RPG, but the charm is there with the characters and the art of the game. 4/5 Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Masters The pinnacle of the Shinobi series. The gameplay is vastly improved from Revenge of Shinobi, adding in new moves, and stage variety (surfing on a jet board). The music rocks. Definitely one of the best games on the collection.  5/5 Sonic the Hedgehog The game that started the Blue Blur craze is still one of the best. Laid the foundation for a (2D) series that made fans out of many people. 4/5 Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Took everything that made Sonic 1 great, and made it twenty times better. More levels, a new companion, and....a halfpipe bonus stage. YUCK. Regardless, a great sequel. 5/5 Sonic Spinball More of an experimental phase for sonic. This game is decent, but frustrating and short. Not the best of the experimental phase, but you could do much worse. 3/5 Sonic 3D Blast If this were the saturn version, I would have rated it higher (for the better bonus stages, graphics, and music) but sadly, you get the bland version in the collection. Its not a bad game, but is a bit boring taking away the speed from past games.  2/5 Space Harrier II We didn’t get a proper port of Space Harrier on consoles until 32X, so instead we got this sequel, which isn’t as good as the first game, but IMO still has some memorable bosses.  It runs a bit slower and is a bit short. Then again this was a launch title. 3/5 Streets of Rage Sega’s answer to Final Fight with some kickin tunes by Yuzo Koshiro. This game started the series with some good gameplay, but definitely had some annoying enemies (I’m looking at you Mona and Lisa!). Still a good start to the series. 4/5 Streets of Rage 2 Taking everything that was great about the first game, and making it better. Though im sad they got rid of the car attacks. This game has smoother gameplay with some tweaked fighting engine. 5/5 Streets of Rage 3 IMO best game in the series...if you’re playing the Japanese version (which you can do, but untranslated). But if its the american version, its a good game thats frustratingly difficult because of its American restrictions and difficulty tweaking. Its sad because this game plays very well other than those issues. 3/5 (American), 5/5 (Japanese) Super Thunder Blade The infamous Super Thunder Blade. SLow, clunky, and with a second level that is infamous for being brutally hard. I have owned this game in the past (still do I believe), and believe it or not, its not the worst game ive played. Its not as bad as people make it out to be, but still not good. 2/5 Sword of Vermillion UGH. A great soundtrack can’t help this slouch of a game. Slow paced, battle system thats confusing and bland, and just not a fun game overall. 1/5 ToeJam & Earl This quirky game is a very fun co-op rogue-like game. Its simple to learn, but mastering it is crucial to going through the brutal upper levels. Its hilarious, fun, and definitely memorable. 4/5 ToeJam & Earl 2: Panic on Funkatron Still haven’t had the chance to play this one yet... Vectorman For the time I thought this game had great graphics and fast paced gameplay. Its got a good challenge too. Its too bad we only got 2 games in this series, because I feel like a new game would be welcome. Nevertheless, I think this game is worth checking out. 4/5 Vectorman 2 More or less the same as Vectorman 1, but a bit more polished. So if you liked the first one, you’ll like this one. 4/5 Virtua Fighter 2 *breathes* I love Virtua Fighter 2. This is NOT Virtua Fighter 2. Why even port this game on Genesis. The hardware cant handle it. making a 3d fighter a 2D fighter is a bad idea. Furthermore, it doesn’t even have the 2 new characters, so why is this even VF2. Its more like VF1.5...and thats being generous. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! 0/5 Wonder Boy III: Dragon’s Lair I have mixed feelings on this game. I feel like they tried to take classic wonder boy (SMS), and make it a side scrolling shooter. If you were expecting a true sequel to Wonder boy in Monster Land, you’d be disappointed. That being said, its not a bad game, but definitely a disappointment considering what we should have gotten (Dragon’s Trap) 2.5/5 Wonder Boy in Monster World A true Gem of a Genesis game. Has a few issues with its attack structure, and its also been Americanized (Last Boss is unnecessarily harder because of a conveyer belt) but still one of the better games on Genesis. Sadly we didn’t get Monster World IV which is just as good, if not better, than this game. 4/5
*Note: The Wonder Boy games are oddly absent on the Switch version. Notable Omissions: Sonic 3 & Knuckles From what I hear its because of the Michael Jackson music samples. Regardless, the omission of this game is a shame because its probably (IMO) the best in the series. Ecco the Dolphin and Ecco 2: The Tides of Time Another series that kinda went by the wayside, these games were kind of a staple of the Genesis. Challenging, yet very unique in gameplay and story. Just...leave Ecco Jr out of this. Thats about it. If i can think of anymore stuff, I’ll add it onto this collection.

Thoughts on the Smash Bros Ultimate DLC Leaks
So i guess the recent rounds of leaks have talked about the all of the SSBU characters. I want to give my thoughts on this.  Erdrick/Dragon Quest character This I could see possibily happening. The Dragon Quest games have been on Nintendo consoles since the beginning of the series. They’re constantly being ported to 3DS and other Nintendo Systems. So it would make perfect sense for a character to appear. ANd I would definitely like seeing them show up too.  Minecraft Steve This one I could definitely see happening...but there are some details that make it seem iffy. For one, the leak mentioned that one of its alternative costumes would be Master Chief. I know that there is alot of crossovers from other gaming studios, but I highly doubt that Microsoft would allow their first party mascot into a first party nintendo game. So, idk, part of that seems a bit odd. But on the other hand, there is a new Minecraft gaming coming out for switch, so it would be great cross promotion. Though the Master Chief stuff seems iffy to me, so we’ll see.
Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden/DoA) Another series that has been around since Nintendo’s early days. Apparently the anniversary of the original Ninja Gaiden game is coming up, and this would be another cross promotion for it. Yes, Ryu Hayabusa has been in DoA, but it would be much cooler having him use his Ninja Gaiden arsenal rather than just normal martial arts. Sure, add in a few of his DoA moves (that spinning drop is still my favorite), but make it a Ninja Gaiden list of attacks. So, if this one is true, i would definitely like to see it happen...though I think they might just have to call him Hayabusa since theres already another character named Ryu... Doomguy/Sarge (Doom) And then we get to the one that really makes me feel conflicted. Yes, Doom Eternal is coming to switch, and once again, another great bit of cross promotion. I could also see how Doom Guy could use his arsenal of weapons to fight (i even see a BFG being his final smash). However...considering that Doom deals with demons from hell, how would you fit that with a family friendly(ish) game. What stage would you have in the game, a part from Hell? IDK, it could work, but it just seems like it would be a bad idea to me. If I missed one, please let me know. Also let me know your thoughts in a response.

Con Adviser: Fighting Discrimination in the Con Community
Tumblr media
*notice* This article has been posted on a previous website. I am simply reblogging it here for storage purposes. Enjoy
So, I was at Indiana Comic Con a few  weekends ago, and overall I had a fun time. Got to see some cool people, meet some new friends, and get lots of photos as the 10th Doctor. However, there was this one moment at the con however that definitely stuck out for me. Sadly, it wasn’t my time meeting Jenna Coleman or any of the photos I took with my friends. Instead, it was a rather off-color comment that was made to me.
As I walked up to some people get some photos of their costumes, another person came up to me and said, “Hey look, it’s “The Blocter”, or the Black Doctor.” My response: “Not funny. Don’t do that.” I then proceeded to give him a mini lecture about how saying things like that are rude and how most people find it very offensive. So, why do I bring this up? Well…take a look at this article below.
http://m.columbiachronicle.com/arts_and_culture/article_38eb8c4a-c108-11e4-a5ad-efe0ea0e90a5.html?mode=jqm
Here’s my question: Why do we have to add labels to cosplay? As a country, we already have to deal with so much hatred and negativity. Why do we have to bring it into the cosplay and conventions? These are things that allow us to express ourselves artistically and celebrate the series that we love (whether it be art, anime, sci-fi, comics or whatever). The characters in each of these settings inspire us to make our own interpretation of the character through cosplay. Why do we need to once again bring the problems of the world into what should be a celebration?
When you give a cosplayer a title like “black” or “fat”, you are saying two things. Firstly, that their version of the character is indeed ethnic. Actually, unless the cosplay is specifically going for that, this is inaccurate. If I were a hipster Doctor, my costume would contain elements typical for a ‘hipster’. For me, if I said I were the ‘black’ Doctor, I’m not sure how I would even portray that. Being “black” has so many meanings that it’s hard to pinpoint what that would mean for a cosplay. Does it mean it’s African themed? Is it urban themed? Hip-Hop themed? It makes no sense.
This brings me to my second point: giving someone a title is more or less labeling them. As a cosplayer, I cosplay Ness, or Crono, or Captain Malcolm Reynolds. Some people feel the need to add ‘black’ to those. Why should someone be labeled that way? When you do that, you tell me, that that’s all that you see when you look at me: me being black. You don’t see my craftsmanship or how I am as the character. Yes, I am black, but it’s not all that there is about me. It’s similar to calling someone a “fat” version of a character. It just shows that you see them as fat, and not as an individual. It’s also very rude. I should also note that I’m not just talking about minorities cosplaying Caucasian characters. It can go the other way too, with Caucasians cosplaying minority characters. Going through Tumblr, I happened to find a photo of a Korra cosplayer who was Caucasian, and she wasn’t tan enough to cosplay the character, she was ‘whitewashing’, or she’s cosplaying white Korra. There really is no reason why we should label someone.
Tumblr media

In another sense, this sort of discrimination can happen with body types. Let’s be honest with ourselves: a lot of anime and comic book characters have body proportions that are unobtainable without some sort of surgery or lots of exercise. We shouldn’t have to deal with people saying things like “you’re too big to play this character” or “Your boobs are too small for this character.” It’s not only uncivilized, but it can be considered harassment as well. In the end, the person who decides who you should or shouldn’t cosplay is you. If you think you can pull it off, then do it. If you can’t then don’t let anyone else force you to do it.
Tumblr media

Is it ever ok to use these labels? Well…to an extent. As I said before, if I were ever to cosplay a version of The Doctor that had elements of black culture in it (once again I can’t even think of how that would look) then I think it would be appropriate to call him The Black Doctor. The same could be said for adding the ‘Fem’ label to a costume. I’ve had female friends who dress up as The Doctor and instead of the costume being a suit its a dress. This would be an ok time to call their costume The Fem Doctor. I’m sure out there some where there is a genderbent version of Sailor Moon too and it would be ok to call them male sailor scouts. As far as saying someone is a ‘fat’ version of a character…I think I would avoid that all together….unless you absolutely know that’s the version that they’re going for like Sailor Bubba.
Tumblr media
The legendary Sailor Bubba
So, in the end, what is it that we can do about these issue? Harassment and bullying might not ever go away, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t bring it up. As usual, it starts with us. I know sometimes I’ve unintentionally added a title to cosplayers, not meaning to offend. I definitely want to be more considerate of others, because the first person we can start with is ourselves. If someone actually offends you by saying something like this, let them know that it bugs you. If they still continue to harass you, tell con security and let them handle it. If you’re a friend of someone who’s being harassed, and they are visibly upset by it, stand up for them and be supportive. Every little bit helps out whether you know it or not. The cosplay community is one that should come together to celebrate anime, sci-fi, comics, etc. Rather than tearing each other down because of certain factors that we can’t control, why not be supportive and thankful for all of the uniqueness that we each bring to the community. In the end, discrimination might not ever fully go away, but we can definitely help to make it less of an issue.
Tumblr media
Adorable kids jumping on the Doctor Who cosplay train at an early age. Would you go up to them and call them “Black Doctors”?
So, don’t let yourself be limited by your skin tone, gender, or body type. Cosplay Storm if you don’t happen to be African or female, cosplay Captain American if you don’t happen to be Caucasian or male and if you wanna go that far, go ahead and cosplay Garrus (From Mass Effect) if you’re not a Turrian. To quote Ger Tysk, a cosplayer, photographer, and woodworker, “People ask me all the time if I need to look like the character to cosplay the character. “What does it matter? Make the costume and put yourself in it.” (The entire article that she was quoted in can be seen here: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2425583,00.asp)
There a lot of people I’d like to thank for the inspiration and help in writing this article. First off, my friend Alana and Antigone for helping me catch mistakes and suggestions for this. Luisa, Carole, and MJ for giving me some additional perspective for this article. Finally, Alena for giving me the opportunity to stay with her and go to Indiana Comic Con.
Like what you see? Have any suggestions on what you’d like to see me discuss? Something you’d wish to add? Leave a comment or a suggestion.

Looking Forward: Cosplaying in 2016
Ive been cosplaying now for 6 years. I’ve won 1 Masquerade award, and I’ve been given a Hall Cosplay award too.
2015 was...a year for cosplay. I performed in Cosplay Combat Chess for the third year. It went well. I got to perform at the beginning of the Masquerade for ACEN 2015. I made 4 cosplays. Two of them I made myself (Nephrite and Nightcrawler) and two of them I thrifted (Roman Reigns and Finn). Part of me feels like I did well (especially with Nightcrawler). Part of me feels more upset. The one character that I have been wanting to Cosplay for a while has been Welkin Gunther, and not once but twice I had to push it back (first time being due to personal issues). Another costume i had to scrap all together (For the time) because i couldn’t get a stupid cape to work. So, while I had some accomplishments last year, I felt more like i had disappointment.
Looking forward to 2016 part of me can’t help but get a bit frustrated already. I’ve been seeing people get their groups ready for the upcoming cons. What bugs me is that most of the time, its a character that I could pull off in said group, yet I just tend to get ignored. Its pretty frustrating. The groups that I have been part of in the past I have had lots of fun with, and the ones I have been asked to be a part of I will continue to take part in.
So where does this leave me for the upcoming year. Well, I’m going to take a gamble with a few things this year. Sadly, the odds of me making Anime Milwaukee this year are slim this year. Its because C2E2 is the week after and I’ve already gotten my badge for it. That being said...I’m contemplating not even premiering a new costume at C2E2. To be honest, I’m not too excited about the con this year which is sad because I usually look forward to it. I will bring Finn (which has gotten a lot of great feedback so far.), but i might bring back nightcrawler (because its AWESOME!)  There are three costumes that I want to make for ACEN. I think if I start them now, I can get them done. I’ll start with Rune Walsh (Phantasy Star IV). I have some stuff done for him....and he’s a bit easier...though his cape still pisses me off. Then I’ll take down Welkin. He’s the one thats been elading me the most, and I want to do it. Finally Auron will be the last one. I hope I can do these. I feel like for this year, I need to go back to me and actually go and push myself a bit better. Lots of research, and lots of determination.

2015 in Review
With the new year in full swing as tradition I would like to do a yearly review post.  As a whole, this year was...interesting. There were a lot of things that happened, both good and bad, but I feel like it was a step in the right direction. Sadly, my year started off on a bad note with me getting unfairly terminated from my job. I knew that I wasn’t going to be at the job forever because...well my boss was evil personified. But the fact that she succeeded in finding a way to get me fired really left a bad lasting impression. Moreover that they also suceeded in getting my unemployment taken away due to lies. So yeah, that really effected me...so much that when the hearing came up I literally lost two days of my life because of the results. It wasn’t all bad though...because I knew that I had a friend that would standby me during that time. Though I am happy to be gone...as well as the fact that apparently my boss got in trouble for laziness and other things...so, i guess all’s well that ends well.... Aside from that, I think the year was well. Lots of cons, new moments, growth, etc.  February was pretty quiet for me other than Anime Milwaukee. It had some memorable moments with cosplay combat chess as well as getting to meet Steve Blum. There was also a cool moment where I got to be a contestant on Press Your Luck. Sadly the episode never made it to youtube like they said it would. Sadface.
March didn’t really add any additional moments...but there was an impromptu trip to Indianapolis for Indiana Comic Con. I donned The Doctor once again with some friends for what i consider to be one of my most memorable photos:
Tumblr media
Also, I got the opportunity to meet Jenna Coleman (Clara from Doctor Who)
Tumblr media
So yeah, despite being out of work, still an eventful March. April brought on a new part-time job working as a photographer, and C2E2. At C2E2 I got to meet one of my biggest sci-fi crushes of all time.
Tumblr media
Along with Jewel Staite, i also got to meet Rikishi, Hailey Atwell, Al Snow, Scott Steiner, Tommy Dreamer and others. It was a good year...though I didn’t meet CM Punk or Stan Lee. May was all about ACEN. Granted the con itself was very busy...because well...take a look.
youtube
Best.Moment, Ever! June is when i started my new job as a paraprofessional at a school with special needs. and its been a great ride. The students are great to work with and (for the most part) the staff is very supportive. Pretty much tied up all of my summer...along with doing various volunteer events with Costumers with a Cause and some gaming days with a couple of friends. August did bring some fun events this way with Anime World Expo, Wizard World Chicago, and a few trips to the Ren Faire (one time as The Doctor and the other as a wood Elf). Anime World Expo brought a very familiar guest that many 90s children might recognize.
Tumblr media
Jason Narvy, aka Skull from Power Rangers. He actually is a teacher in Chicago. Pretty cool. Anywho, at wizard world, i got to meet yet another Firefly alumni.
Tumblr media
River from Firefly herself, Summer Glau with my friend Ashley. It wasn’t as big of a moment like it was with Jewel, but I was still glad to meet her. On my way out, I also ran into Jason David Frank (Tommy Oliver from Power Rangers) and i did get to chat with Jodie Sweetin (Steph from Full House) and Cerena Vincent (Maya from Power Rangers Lost Galaxy)
September - November pretty much was occupied with moving to a new house and the job. It was also around this time that I learned something. Ive met a lot of people at cons and other places. A lot of time, some people like to use me for what I have, and then toss me to the wolves. That happened in a very...well explicit way, and I finally realized it, and now I feel more aware of it. That being said, I feel a bit more ready to face the females of the world. Anywho, November had a double whammy of conventions with Daishocon and Chicago Tardis. More on the later. Daisho was super fun. The waterpark con is always a fun draw for me. Plus, this year I got to meet Korra’s Janet Varney...and we totally have each others backs.
Tumblr media
It was also great traveling down with my friend Natalie. She’s a fun traveling companion. My (pretty much) last con of the  year was Chicago Tardis. What was different about this was I got to be on staff as a last minute replacement. I would lead people into the autograph/photo line. The plus about this was, I got to meet all of the guests and take a photo with them. SO i got to meet Alex Kingston (River Song), Ingrid Oliver (Osgood), Katy Manning (Jo Grant), Samuel Anderson (Danny Pink), Paul McGann (The 8th Doctor) and others. I also had the opportunity to sit down with Ingrid Oliver and Alex Kingston and share some stories and questions with them (I sat next to Alex...in a very humorous moment). Yeah, awesome and I hope to staff again next year because I enjoyed working it. Finally, December was a more laid back month. I spent Christmas down with my family in Louisiana. So...a good way to end the year.
So what happens from here on? Well, continue all of my cosplay and my work awesomeness. Maybe take a few more risks and do something more. I can’t tell, but 2016 has the potential for greatness. Lets hope it does come to that.
