The TamaTV YouTube channel has just been updated with new M!X footage! In the video above you will see a little game where the girl has to guess the parents and grandparents based on each character presented (and boy are there some interesting mixes). The most exciting part though is that the young girl gets a chance to play with the all new M!X, and we get a sneak peek at some of the features!

First off the menu has changed, as we have reported before. Another notable change is that the characters are in fact larger and they do seem to roam around the screen more, you can see the baby in the video come up close and even get smaller as the baby plays in the back.

Not much else was revealed in this video, but have no fear, the launch is almost two weeks away! We should have a bunch more photos and videos following the launch of July 16! Stay tuned, and of course follow all our M!X articles here!

Bandai Japan Releases Tamagotchi M!X Details

Bandai Japan has just released some information on the upcoming release of the Tamagotchi M!X! TamaTV.com has just been updated with lots of details on the newest Tamagotchi set to launch on July 16, 2016.

First of the new Tamagotchi M!X design is very cute as we have reported before, it has what looks like a (removable?) faceplate and cracked egg design above the buttons. Now there are two different versions of the Tamagotchi M!X, there are three Spacy MIX designs and three Melody M!X designs. Each version features a pink, blue, and purple shell with either waves (Spacy M!X) or bubbles (Melody M!X). Another interesting point here is that the Tamagotchi M!X not only features an IR port like previous versions but the port is in fact the same color as the Tamagotchi shell!

The Tamagotchi M!X has a whole new game play, and the most exciting one yet! On the Tamagotchi M!X your Tamagotchi gets married, and has a child, and this child will actually slowly inherit genes and traits of its parents and grandparents allowing you to grow a whole new Tamagotchi! There are apparently tens of millions of possibilities! Your Tamagotchi’s baby will inherit its color as a child, their head and tail in puberty, and lastly other elements such as wings and face during adulthood. You can see an example in the image below of the mixed genes.

Another exciting feature that we can see in a recent video Bandai Japan posted on their YouTube channel is that the parents of the Tamagotchi child appear to stick around for a bit longer than in previous generations, and perhaps until adulthood. There will also be a family tree feature which can show up to 20 generations, which will also show the 3 generation family photo of the Tamagotchi that are growing now. You can even trade family portraits and even forecast the next generation.

Each Tamagotchi M!X features 25 characters, and the Spacy M!X and Melody M!X versions both feature 2 additional exclusive characters. The Spacy M!X will feature Himespetchi and Speplanetchi, and the Melody M!X will feature Melodytchi and Orchestrotchi.

Bandai Japan hasn’t yet released all the information on the Tamagotchi M!X, more information is expected to follow before the release on July 16, 2016. Bandai Japan will be showcasing the Tamagotchi M!X at the Bandai booth at the Tokyo Toy Show 2016 from June 9-12.

News Flash! New Tamagotchi Is Coming This Summer!

An article was published on “Tamagotchi Scoop!” page of Monthly Pucchigumi (ぷっちぐみ), a magazine for little girls. It reads that a new version of tamagotchi is going to be released this summer!

The following is my own translations.

It’s a game to care delightful tamagotchis living in Tamagotchi Planet who is good friends with The Earth. The first tamagotchi appeared 20 years ago. In the new version, tamagotchis are said to do “something” after their marriage!! We will report the “something” in our next issue!

This is literally all of the information - No further info at all. The article did NOT refer to when exactly the new version is going to be released, what features it has, whether it is “Tamagotchi M!X” that Bandai and Wiz recently applied for trademark registration or not, and anything.

The new white fluffy character on the top of the page reads “Nijifuwatchi.” I think this must have something to do with Rainbow Hills in Rainbow Island that suddenly appeared in Bandai Japan’s official site. 

I have searched for Bandai’s official statement as I did when Tamagotchi 4U+ came to public for the first time, but I didn’t find any. This article is the first to talk about the new tama. Pucchigumi is a zine whose readers are mainly under 10, so it was friendly for ME to translate, but it doesn’t have much information - The half of the page is a simple quiz.

What do you feel about the new version of tamagotchi on this article?

First, I feel that the new tama will be very girlish again - If so, I’m a little worried. Tamagotchi is really potential, so I personally don’t find any reason to make a brand new girlish world on Tamagotchi Planet. My long-time opinion is that Tamagotchi should keep its uniqueness by some leaders who have artistic and creative senses.  The new tama looks and sounds straightly girlish - At this moment, it doen’t seem to go along with my tastes very much. Second, in my opinion, the “something” must be “transfigure” - Do you agree with me?

Tamagotchi M!X (Mix) Launching Summer 2016!

Bandai Japan has just recently filed for a trademark of the name “Tamagotchi M!X” (also known as Tamagotchi Mix) and it set the Tamagotchi community off into a frenzy. It’ll be almost one year since the Tamagotchi 4U+ was released, and that certainly means another Tamagotchi is on its way. A picture of the new Tamagotchi M!X has been spotted in a Japanese magazine with a little glimpse of whats to come as Bandai celebrates the 20th anniversary of Tamagotchi.

As you can see from the image above there is an all new design. It appears that the cracked egg shell appearance has made its way back onto the front for the first time since the connection releases. We’re pretty sure there will be a few different designs and colors to come when the device is fully launched this Summer.

There is no official information on why this Tamagotchi is being named Tamagotchi M!X, however it is notable that this Tamagotchi does feature the older IR technology to connect with previous generation devices. It is not yet known if it always has NFC technology like the Tamagotchi 4U/4U+ series. If it has both IR and NFC that would definitely explain the M!X name.

The advertisement introduces a completely new character, Nijjifuwatchi (who has an angelic appearance), and of course a few familiar faces. It appears that this device will a new location that has been added to Tamagotchi Channel, Rainbow Hills (pictured below). This seems to be the theme of this new Tamagotchi such as the Dream Town theme of the Tamagotchi P’s. Some notable destinations in Rainbow Hills include a cloud store, a big castle, and a family home.

The most remarkable feature of this new Tamagotchi is when you marry two Tamagotchi’s, which will result in a special transformation. There is huge emphasis on marriage in this version, would this be similar to the families on the V5 Familitchi? It is unknown right now how the marriage feature differs from previous versions of Tamagotchi, but we can’t wait to find out! More information will be available next month (June) on this new Tamagotchi, such as more information on upcoming features, and of course a launch date. It is assumed that this version will most likely only be available in Japan. Stay tuned!
