DAPHNE GREENGRASS
BLOOD STATUS: pure-blood HOGWARTS HOUSE: Slytherin BIRTHDAY: 4 October 1979 (40) OCCUPATION: Translator STATUS: UNINFECTED
Most people would say Knockturn Alley was no place for children, but to Daphne, it was simply home. She spent her early years young and fearless: running down cobblestone streets, dodging hags, admiring the dark artifacts her father sold, spying on the illicit clinic her mother ran. Perhaps it warped her perspective a bit; perhaps she doesn’t always fear things that she should; but no one can deny that it’s blessed her with nerves of steel. She needed those nerves to first marry and then divorce a man she never loved, to start her life over on her own with a child in tow...and to cope when her sister fell ill. Wasn’t living through one Dark Lord enough trouble for a lifetime? It seems like the sky will never stop crashing down on her. Daphne has always been the sturdy one, and she’s trying to be that now: to care for her sister, her daughter, her nephew, her brother-in-law... but the things that Astoria sees are beyond even Daphne’s ability to translate. She tells herself that’s because they’re all nonsense, not true...but sometimes she can’t help but wonder.

GINNY WEASLEY
BLOOD STATUS: pure-blood HOGWARTS HOUSE: Gryffindor BIRTHDAY: 11 August 1981 (39) OCCUPATION: Quidditch Coach, Holyhead Harpies STATUS: UNINFECTED
Growing up, Ginny didn’t think much about life after school. Like any little girl she had her dreams and passions, but her family was pulled into a war when she was fourteen and from then on, her main focus was the fight. Fortunately Ginny was never shy or meek and ever since clawing her way back from the darkness that Tom Riddle tried to smear across her soul she’d been ready for some payback. Ginny fought every way she could in the years that followed -- but the horrors she saw changed her. After losing Fred, there was a seriousness about her that she’d lacked before... but Ginny was tough, and came back from grief, and built a family with her childhood sweetheart-turned-soulmate. (Did the fact that they’d both had Voldemort inside their heads help forge that bond?) The Potter family was happy, finally free from darkness and fear, full of light and life and love. Little did they know what was coming to threaten it all. Ginny knows little about this vampiric pandemic, but she is ready to fight to protect those dear to her.

Rumor Has It...
Send rumor has it to my inbox to receive two true things...one rumor...and one lie that your character could believe about my character.
Example: I play Seamus, I send "Rumor Has It..." to Draco's inbox. Draco’s player provides two facts about their character, one rumor that Seamus may have heard, and one lie that Draco could/would have told him (for a total of four).

Welcome, Zelda, please grab your stake on your way to your tumblr to play Hermione Granger-Weasley here at Pandemons. We loved how you decided to take us up on make this your own by giving Hermione a new role as Head Healer of the Janus Thickery Ward in Saint Mungos. We can’t wait to see how Hermione deals with the new strangeness building in the magical world and all the past (and present!) relationships she can build here.

IN CHARACTER INFORMATION
Character’s Name: Hermione Jean Ganger-Weasley
Bloodstatus: Muggleborn
Birthday: 19 September, 1979 ( 40 years old )
Gender and Sexuality: cis female & pansexual
Every where she looked Hermione always saw a man and a woman, there was never anything different and when something out of the ordinary came about she didn’t know what to think. For the longest time she always thought that love was supposed to between a man and a woman, it’s what she was raised to believe. But the older she got it didn’t matter the gender of your significant other so long as you were happy in the end. Hermione doesn’t find herself attracted to whether someone is male or female. In fact Hermione is more attracted to someone’s intelligence and personality over what body parts they have. Hermione is seen as someone who is pansexual.

SHORT HEADCANON TOPICS (PLEASE PROVIDE AT LEAST ONE PARAGRAPH PER TOPIC)
Occupation (title and one paragraph explanation): Head Healer of the Janus Thickey Ward at St. Mungos
Ever since she started at Hogwarts Hermione had always thought about fighting the good fight to free magical creatures and letting them have the chance to live lives. She always wanted to make a change in the wizarding world and she was determined to. She first started with S.P.E.W. a movement to free house elves and give them a free life. When she returned for her seventh year and finished Hogwarts she wasted no time in getting a job at the ministry and worked on her plan. She tried for years to get bills passed but nothing would happen.
She couldn’t make a difference when people didn’t want to try. She felt defeated and knew that she couldn’t continue on like this so she left the Ministry and went to train as a healer. It wasn’t long before Hermione soon discovered that she really enjoyed the work. She enjoyed mixing the potions and helping people when they needed it. She discovered that she excelled in this profession and she didn’t want to do anything but. Over the years she raised in the ranks and before she knew it she was the head healer of the Janus Thickey Ward, the ward that deals with permanent spell damage, such as permanent jinxes, hexes, and incorrectly-applied spells.
Marital Status/Ships: Married to Ron Weasley
When it comes to Ron Weasley, Hermione can remember their first meeting clear as day. She always thought of him as the frumpy boy who didn’t know how to take care of himself. Yet over the years as they grew closer as best friends she soon realized that her feelings weren’t just those of friendship. She found him loyal and caring and could always be there for a good laugh if needed. She found his personality that attractable and she loved it, plus it did help that his eyes always held a slight air of mischief to them. But all in all he was her best friend, companion and husband all in one. He was someone she could always lean on and talk to about everything. He was always there for her when she needed him. Even when he left on their hunt she knew that she could never forget him no matter how angry she was. He is her person as much as Harry is.
Ships: When it comes to shipping I do ship Ron & Hermione but at the same time I do have a few crackships that have stolen my heart. But I am open to other things and exploring her sexuality and what could of happened and what could of been. I’m not here to force something on someone, so long as the chemistry is there then lets go! If anyone is every curious about anything message me and we’ll plot.
MULTIPARAGRAPH OR MULTI POINT TOPICS
Family:
Being raised in a family of muggles Hermione did kind of feel a bit left out, especially when her parents put a bit more attention into their work than they did learning about her life. She always knew she didn’t fit in the muggle world, she just wasn’t normal enough. When she found out she was a witch that only pushed her further away from her family. When she erased the memories of her parents she knew it was for the right cause but at the same time she felt a small pang of loss enter her. She vowed to return their memories when everything was safe, yet when she went off to look for them she couldn’t bring herself to take them from the happy life they created. She just couldn’t ruin them again. So she left them and moved on with her life, she never told anyone that she didn’t reverse it in fact she never told anyone that she set out to find them.
Childhood/Hogwarts:  anorexic tw
Growing up Hermione as a bit frightened when she discovered that she that she could make things move. When she wanted a cookie and her mother said no? Well Hermione made it float on over. Things didn’t start making sense for Hermione until a man named Professor Dumbledore came along and explained everything. She was ecstatic to learn that she wasn’t abnormal but in fact very normal. She was a witch and everything that was happening was supposed to happen.
When she arrived at Hogwarts, like every other child she could only stare in awe at the beauty. The little bookworm had truly found her home at last or so she thought. She wasn’t welcomed very much due to her blood status and her know-it-all attitude. In fact it wasn’t until Harry and Ron saved her from the Troll that she truly made real friends. Over the years she became very close with the two of them, they were three peas in a pod.
As the years flew by she knew that dark times were coming and she refused to let Harry go through it all alone. She knew that if she didn’t lend a hand that he could end up dead somewhere. She refused to lose two of the most important people in her life. She was a very strong and hard headed girl that took charge when things looked dark. She was always quick on her feet and knew exactly what to do before someone else could form a thought.
When Harry stated that he was going on the hunt Hermione knew in a split second that she would go with him. He was her best friend and she refused to let him go alone. She was brave but also over thought a lot, there were even times when she would let her thoughts get ahead of her and she couldn’t think straight. It wasn’t until the trio were caught and taken to Malfoy Manor that Hermione knew her time was coming to an end.
She never expected to make it out alive from Malfoy Manor, she expected to bleed out on their perfect floors. She expected Bellatrix to torture her until her mind was a puddle of goo and hand her over to Greyback so he could have his fun. She never expected for Harry and Ron to break out and save her in the end. She never expected her boys to bring her to safety at shell cottage. All in all that would be a night that would leave Hermione scarred physically, emotionally and mentally.
She never expected for herself and her peers to go through a war that would tear their innocence away and leave them all tortured and scarred. She didn’t expect for them all to suffer and lose so much. Yet with the end of it all it brought a sort of peace to them. A sense of peace to the wizarding world. Something that she could hold on to and actually see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Post Hogwarts:
After everything Hermione was not okay. She was the furthest thing from being okay. There were many nights that Hermione would wake up screaming and crying due to terrors she had gone through. There were times that she’d lay in bed sobbing for those that lost their lives far too soon. There were times that Hermione would stay up for hours worrying that someone would break in. She constantly slept with her wand gripped tightly in her hand. There were even times that Hermione would go a couple of days with absolutely zero sleep, sometimes to the point where someone would have to shove a sleeping potion down her throat so she could get some sleep.
Along with this Hermione also has a very hard time eating, with being on the run for so long Hermione learned that she needed very little food to survive and focused on drinking lots of water. At family meals in the burrow she would find it very hard to eat a full plate of food. Sometimes the smell of the food would make her stomach churn. There were times that she could eat a few biscuits and be done. Other times she could eat a few bites and that would be it. It took Hermione a good year until she was able to get her eating habits back to normal. She was almost to the point of being anorexic
Hermione also suffers from PTSD and has a very hard time letting herself be touched by others. There are only two people that can lay a hand on her shoulder her without her knowing and she wouldn’t jump one bit, Harry and Ron. She has gained a bit of trust issues from everything that has happened and tries to work on it but at the same time it’s hard for her and she can’t bring herself around.
Current:
Hermione is far better today than what she was. She has turned her life around and is the head healer of a department at St. Mungos. She has found peace in her life and has come to terms with a lot of things. With the help of the Weasley family and Harry, Hermione has been able to overcome so much.
Though there are still times when the terrors will plague her dreams some taking the form of Bellatrix the other’s taking the form of Voldemort himself. All in all Hermione will always have trouble getting the proper amount of sleep and can’t stop her worrying and constant protection. Even in this very moment she will continue to strengthen the wards placed around her home, wards so strong that only those invited can get through.
With what’s stirring up now Hermione can’t shake the feeling that something bad will happen. It’s bring back old feelings about the first war she went through and she hopes that nothing ends the same. That the children of today don’t go through what they did. That they do not lose their innocence as quickly as Hermione and her friends did.
Plots
The Past - I would love to explore threads of the past, get a chance to dive a bit deeper into Hermione’s character and what she was like in Hogwarts. To see what friends she could of had or enemies because that’s always fun to play out.
Relationships - I feel like Hermione wasn’t so strict about studies and that she would of had a bit of adventure every now and then. I feel like she would of explored a bit and dated some. That she would of dated some and let her self live a bit more than what we saw. Also maybe we can even figure something out for current time and maybe she has affections for someone that’s not her husband or maybe someone is brought into their relationship. It’s all exciting to explore.
Occupation - I would love for her to either have co-workers that she can interact with and form friendships with or maybe even patients that she had for long periods of time that she grew close with. Ouu or maybe even an enemy that she had to tolerate due to her job.
Family - Family is very important to Hermione and I would love to explore the bonds she has with each remaining Weasley member and the bond she has with Harry. I feel like there’s so much that can be touched on that wasn’t and we can make it all such a beautiful thing.

SHORT HEADCANON TOPICS
Occupation:
translator.
daphne has always been a bright girl, though she was never the type to flaunt it. she was never the type to draw unnecessary attention to herself, preferring to slip by in the shadows - she was perfectly content to let others take the spotlight, and the blame.
still, she did love to know things. she was quite fond of history, and loved to know the stories behind mysterious artifacts and lost treasures. on sleepless nights, she has always been found curled up in the corner of a library, reading whatever happened to catch her eye.
it was her desire to read books and inscriptions that lead to the discovery of her talent for languages. she taught herself what she could for awhile, and then she turned to her parents, begging for lessons in any language that could be taught. her parents shrugged their shoulders, and let their daughter do as she pleased. unsatisfied with simply learning french and german and russian and latin, she threw herself into the study of ancient and beast languages, and found herself among one of the few with an affinity for such things.
daphne dreamed of putting her talent to good use - of traveling the world writing journals, or translating ancient inscriptions for cursebreakers. but then her parents announced that they’d found her a husband, and daphne put her dreams on the shelf to be the lovely, loyal housewife she was expected to be.
one of the first things she did after her divorce was finalized was dust off those dreams of hers. daphne has translated ancient texts and read the inscriptions of golden sarcophagi. she has translated for ministry officials as they delicately negotiated peace with magical beings, and been the helping hand to reunite frightened tourists with their lost children. she’s quite proud of her skill and of her work.
Marital Status/Ships:
daphne remembers clearly how it felt, to sit in the common room surrounded by happy, giggling girls and not understand. whenever her friends would gossip about boys, or gush over an attractive stranger, daphne would sit in silence. she learned fairly quickly that her friends found it odd that she didn’t seem to like boys, so she learned to smile and pretend to get it, but most of the time she just didn’t. when one of her friends had confided in her that she liked girls, daphne wondered if that was perhaps why she didn’t get it … but then, she found she didn’t really understand when her friends gossiped about girls, either.
pansy would talk about draco more often than anyone wanted to hear, and for long time, it went in one ear and out the other for daphne. but then she met him, and an offhand remark became the odd conversation became a friendship. and daphne finally started to get it. because she liked draco. more than she liked anyone - or, more accurately, differently than she liked anyone else. the trouble was that pansy liked draco, and pansy was the leader of their little clique. daphne had always been taught the importance of social circles, and so she never said a word.
daphne met a girl in the library in her fifth year; a ravenclaw with a thirst for knowledge that rivaled her own and a delightfully snarky attitude. they started dating in sixth year, and their relationship held strong through the turmoil and tragedy of the war and it’s aftermath. but then her parents reminded her that she wasn’t a child anymore, and it was time she started looking for an appropriate match. daphne crushed her own heart in her hands and ended the relationship, and she quietly fears that she’ll never recover.
daphne is still raw and aching when she finds out about astoria and draco. it brings a flash of old feelings to the surface, but once more, she stomps it down. she puts on a smile, and she supports her sister at every turn. it isn’t too long after that her parents nudge her in the direction of the wizard they’ve deemed her proper match - a frenchman with a handsome face and a flawless pedigree. daphne hopes something will spark between them, but it never really does. she marries him anyway, because it’s what her parents want.
the marriage is a disaster. they have nothing in common, except for regrets. they argue over what restaurants to visit, how daphne should do her hair, whether daphne should be allowed to work. he sleeps around, but truthfully, she couldn’t care less. the moment she finds out she’s pregnant, she’s more than happy to kick him out of her bed entirely. she’s only obligated to supply him one heir, after all.
their daughter is born, and daphne falls in love. cynthia instantly becomes the center of her whole world. her husband is not so impressed. he insists he wants a son, but daphne isn’t having any of it. the relationship devolves even further, and daphne sees less and less of her husband as the months roll by. cynthia is three years old when things hit a boiling point. her husband strikes her during an argument, and daphne is enraged. she draws her wand and forcibly hurls him out of the house, and sends his things flying after him. daphne will put up with a lot of things for the sake of her family’s reputation, but not this. he returns to france, and daphne at last feels free.
romance is the last thing on daphne’s mind these days. a single mother with a career doesn’t have much time to fuss about those things, especially when they’ve never been particularly fussed in the first place. now that her sister has fallen ill, she has even less time to think about it. she has to be there for her daughter, her sister, her nephew, and for draco. just because she isn’t thinking about it, though, doesn’t mean it might not surprise her. old flames and new could be hiding around any corner.
MULTIPARAGRAPH OR MULTI-POINT TOPICS
Family
Father | Nestor Greengrass. the greengrass family is one of the truest, purest bloodlines around, and sure, that’s something to be proud of - but more importantly, that’s something to take advantage of. nestor is as crafty as a salesman can be, and he knows how to market himself and the shop. he’s carefully crafted and maintained the ideal reputation; the perfect balance of shady and trustworthy. money is truly his main motivation for nearly everything he does. he’s always encouraged his children to be intelligent, sly, and greedy. he’s certainly a selfish man, but one that does care for his family. whether or not he cares about them more than he cares for himself, though, is rather hard to tell.
Mother | Meilin Greengrass. meilin has certain expectations. there are ways that people should and should not behave. there are obligations that people must fulfill, and duties they must complete. of course people are not perfect. little mistakes may be made from time to time. the young will stray from the path every now and again, but they simply need to be guided back into their place. she has always fully expected her daughters to fall perfectly in line - and the fact that things are so imperfect? that their perfect perfect reputation has been blemished? it infuriates her.
Sister | Astoria Malfoy. daphne’s relationship with her family is a bit … complicated, but she has always loved her little sister with all of her heart. from the time they were small, daphne has always tried to look after astoria, to be the best big sister she can be. she’s always wanted to be someone astoria could look up to, and it’s motivated her a lot in her life. when she found out her sister had fallen ill, she was devastated.
Daughter | Cynthia Greengrass. daphne never really thought much about being a mother. she supposes she’s always been a bit mother; she can recall the many times her sister would roll her eyes and say, “okay, mom” or the way pansy would sometimes groan and snap “you aren’t my mother.” she’s always known that she would have kids one day. it was one of her responsibilities, after all. continue the family line. but she still didn’t really think about it. even throughout her pregnancy, daphne didn’t really think of herself as a mother. she felt more like a bloated bus than anything else. but then she held her daughter in her arms for the first time, and it felt like the world shifted. her daughter is her sun and her sky and all of the stars. she would do anything to keep cynthia safe, and to make her happy. and if anyone were to threaten her sweet, wonderful little girl … she wouldn’t rest until they paid for it.
Childhood/Hogwarts
most people would say knockturn alley is no place for children, but to daphne, it’s simply home. she had spent her early years young and fearless, running down cobblestone streets, dodging the hags that often lurked in the crowds, admiring the dark artifacts her father sold, spying on the illicit clinic her mother ran. perhaps it warped her perspective a bit; perhaps she doesn’t always fear things that she should; but no one can deny that it’s blessed her with nerves of steel.
daphne is a little surprised to be sorted into slytherin. she had thought herself a bit more like her ravenclaw mother than her slytherin father, but she fits easily into the ranks. daphne attaches herself to pansy parkinson within the first few weeks of their first year. pansy is a bigot and a bully and a pureblood, and daphne knows immediately she wants to behind her and not in her way.
daphne makes friends and she gets good grades, but she’s never the center of attention, and that’s the way she likes it. it’s much easier to get away with breaking rules when people are paying more attention to the troublemakers; and people are much more forgiving when they have a worse example to compare you to.
hogwarts becomes a home away from home for her. she finds a sense of peace and simple joy there that she just doesn’t have at home. she loves her parents, she truly does, but that doesn’t mean they were truly good parents. her mother’s presence feels almost crushing sometimes; like her expectations have a physical weight and they’ve perched themselves right on daphne’s lungs and when she fails it feels like she can’t breathe. no one looks at her like they’re waiting for her to fail at hogwarts.
that peace is shattered by voldemort’s return. she watches the people around her change; sees the way the pressure warps and twists them, the way some of them just crack and chip away. suddenly it feels like everyone is watching everyone all the time; constantly on a knife’s edge. she knows what side she’s supposed to be on, but she can’t help but just want it all to end, no matter who wins.
daphne tries to be the sturdy one. she tries to be there for people, do whatever little thing she can for them. sit with them, talk with them, bring them tea, steal sweets from the kitchens. she knows how the rest of the school has started to feel about slytherins - even the ones who don’t deserve it. if no one else will be here for them, she’ll do it all herself.
Post Hogwarts
daphne is exhausted and the world around her is in shambles. she tries to be there for her family and for her friends - for the ones that are left, as they try to put the pieces back together. it doesn’t feel like enough. she doesn’t feel the same anymore. she can’t imagine how the others must feel. the ones who were truly in the middle of it.
she finds happiness in the brief moments she can spend alone with her girlfriend, just the two of them, peaceful and quiet. her mother tells her it’s about time she end her little fling, and daphne’s heart sinks to the floor. her mother reminds her that she must have known this relationship wouldn’t last long. her girlfriend was a half-blood, after all, and not fit for marriage. daphne does as she’s told. her girlfriend doesn’t understand, and daphne can’t blame her.
she sinks into a deep depression after the messy end of her relationship, and finds that she can’t stand to be alone with her thoughts - or with her mother. she starts making anonymous donations to charities and to projects to help rebuild. she throws herself back into learning languages and reading books. she avoids the world.
it’s astoria’s announcement of her engagement to draco that shakes daphne out of her daze. she has a few mixed emotions. it feels a little odd to see her sister engaged to her old crush; it feels a bit painful to see her sister engaged at all, after the end of her relationship. but more than anything … astoria didn’t tell her. all of their lives they had trusted each other with everything, and yet her baby sister hadn’t told her she was going to be engaged? for a moment, she’s angry. and then she realizes that it’s her fault. she’d been pushing her sister away without even realizing it.
daphne puts all of her energy into working through her depression after that. she’s determined to be there for her sister, come hell or high water. she reappears in the social scene, starts to go out with friends again, and ignores her mother a little less.
she’s introduced to her future husband not too long after her sister’s engagement, and they attend the wedding together. astoria doesn’t like him much, but daphne thinks he’s tolerable, and their mother seems very keen that they date. daphne regrets not taking her sister’s doubts more seriously, looking back on it.
daphne is a reluctant and miserable housewife for the course of their marriage. the birth of their daughter brightens her life; she loves being a mother. but she only hates her husband more.
the day her divorce was finalized she used her wand to send up fireworks in the street and laughed like she hadn’t laughed in years. she was free, and goddamnit, she was going to be happy.
she loves her work, and she loves her daughter. being a single working mother suits her far better than being a married housewife ever did. she’s happier than she’s ever been in her life … and then her sister falls ill, and daphne wonders if the sky will ever stop crashing down on her.
Current
daphne only really has one priority these days, and that priority is her family’s well-being.
daphne tries not to worry cynthia. she’s only a child, after all. she should be enjoying her time at hogwarts, not weighed down by tragedy. she knows she can’t keep cynthia completely in the dark; she’s a smart kid, and she’s very close to her cousin. still, daphne can ease her mind with sugar coated words and gentle promises … even if they so often taste like bitter lies.
whenever daphne has the time to read, she spends it pouring over anything and everything that might possibly help her sister. her reputation and skill set gives her access to a lot of unusual material, and she hopes one day it will help her dear sister.
she spends a lot of time with her daughter and with scorpius, always happy to look after her nephew or offer a helping hand to her sister and her husband. she loves scorpius as much as she loves her own daughter, and she’s promised her sister she would look after him.
she’s also promised to look after draco, and that’s proving much more of a challenge. she worries about him getting into trouble, crossing the wrong line, catching the wrong person’s attention. she wants to protect him, like she promised she would, but at the same time - how could she ever ask him to take a step back? she’s as desperate to cure her sister as he is; but she doesn’t want to lose him in the process, either.
Plots
i would love for daphne’s talents as a translator to come in handy for a plot, or plots. it’s an interesting passion of hers, and i love the idea of people coming to her to translate old writing, or ancient inscriptions, or people or magical beings.
daphne was the absolute mom of slytherin, but she also dropped off the map for awhile after the war. i would love to have her reconnect with old friends, or at least try to. bonus points if daphne still gets to mother them.
give me messy, complicated relationships please. romantic and platonic. i’m here for that shit.
potentially interested in the absolute panic of daphne being temporarily infected but we’ll see how things go.
daphne’s got a lot of money to throw around and i like the idea of someone approaching her to invest in something - some kind of charity, big event, business. they would need to win her over, of course, but it’d be interesting to have daphne really show her social/business/money skills.
daphne’s wanted to have more kids ever since she had cynthia, so that might come up at some point. whether she goes through with it, and how she goes about it, would depend entirely on how things end up happening in the roleplay.

Welcome, Kate, please grab your stake on your way to your tumblr to play Ginny Potter here at Pandemons. There’s always a great spunk in Ginny Potter (Weasley) and we found that here in your app. With all your great ideas on plot and potential reaction we just know you’ll have a lot to bite into here.
Your request for Jessica Chastain // Luca Hollestelle (past) FCs have been accepted.
Out of Character Information
NAME — Kate PRONOUNS — she/her AGE — 26 TIMEZONE — EST ACTIVITY — currently I’m not working, just playing the part of stay at home trophy wife (lol, jk), so I’m able to be on most days. I’d say I tend to do replies every 1-2 days. Weekends I spend more time with my husband so I’m a little less around, but I pop onto discord fairly often.
In Character Information
CHARACTER NAME —
Ginevra “Ginny” Molly Potter (nee Weasley) — the youngest Weasley and the girl that her mother had dreamed of for so long, Ginny was named for two strong women — her grandmother Ginevra and her mother Molly. In her name, she carried a heritage of Prewett and Weasley. Making the decision to give up her maiden name (especially after she was already a successful and well-known Quidditch player) wasn’t as difficult as Ginny had always imagined it would be — Harry deserved to have someone he loved who was alive share his last name.
BLOOD STATUS —
pureblood — blood status has never been something that Ginny cared or noticed about her own life; she was proud to be considered a blood traitor. There was definitely a certain privilege that Ginny had and continues to have in her blood status that she can tend to be blind to.
BIRTHDAY —
11 august 1981 — a happy day for the Weasley family; finally a baby girl to fulfill all of her mother’s dreams of pink and frills, though it became quite clear by the time she was a toddler that Ginny was more like her brothers than the stereotypical girl Molly had dreamed of. Still, a daughter was a gift, and Molly didn’t mind that Ginny cared more for playing in the mud than playing house.
GENDER & SEXUALITY —
cis-female (she/her), pansexual — gender has never been something that Ginny really pays that much attention to. To her, it’s all about personality and heart. She falls in love with people – the fact that all of her serious relationships are with men is purely coincidental.
FORMER HOUSE —
Gryffindor — there was never another option for a Weasley, nor for one with the firecracker and stubborn personality that Ginny had. She was proud to join the rest of her siblings in Gryffindor house, and it was clear from the start that she belonged there.
INFECTION —
No, at least to start out. I’m completely open to see what develops and whether that might include Ginny becoming infected.
FACECLAIM —
Jessica Chastain (present); Luca Hollestelle (past)
SHORT HEADCANON TOPICS (PLEASE PROVIDE AT LEAST ONE PARAGRAPH PER TOPIC)
OCCUPATION  —
During her time at Hogwarts, Ginny didn’t think very much about life after school. Sure, she had dreams and passions, but her family was pulled into a war when she was fourteen, and from then on, her main focus (outside of typical teenage woes and worries) was preparing for the fight. But when the war was over and Ginny returned to Hogwarts for her final year and wore the badge of Gryffindor Captain, she was free to dream, and all of her dreams included Quidditch. Upon leaving Hogwarts, she was recruited to the Holyhead Harpies and played for them for many years, even through her three pregnancies, eventually even making team Captain. Upon nearing her 35th birthday, a terrible injury to her rotator cuff pulled her out of the action, but her love for Quidditch was too strong for her to walk away from the sport, so she took on a position as coach, which she still holds to this day.
MARITAL STATUS/SHIPS  —
Married to Harry James Potter. I definitely super ship hinny. I think they’re perfect for each other — Ginny is warmth and love that Harry grew up longing for; Harry is steady and rational where Ginny is fiery and headstrong; Ginny is laughter and light where Harry has known so much darkness and terror. Harry is home for Ginny who has always known what home felt like and Ginny is home for Harry in a way he’s never experienced. In all, Ginny is made of the sort of strong stuff you need to be married to the Chosen One.
But also, chemistry is fine too LOL.
MULTIPARAGRAPH OR MULTI POINT TOPICS
FAMILY —
Ginny was born the youngest of the Weasley family, and the only girl. As much as her parents delighted in her birth and her family was tight-knit and warm, Ginny’s childhood wasn’t perfect. Their poverty made all of their children uncomfortably aware of a kind of stress that those with wealth never encounter, and it manifested in each of them in different ways. Ginny wasn’t ashamed of her second-hand possessions, and she never went hungry, but she knew what it was like to hide her desire for something because she didn’t want to upset her parents who could never afford it. A watchful child, Ginny saw early on what this poverty did to her brothers – Charlie and Bill were always so much older and already off at Hogwarts that it didn’t seem to affect them that much, but Ginny saw the greed and shame in Percy, Fred, George, and Ron’s eyes, a fact that only grew as time went on.
It was also hard to be the only girl and the youngest child – Ginny sometimes felt that she was always running behind her brothers, unable to keep up with their antics, unable to convince them to slow down so that she could be a part of the fun too. They saw her as the pesky, annoying sister, which meant that a good portion of her childhood was spent alone. But instead of making Ginny into a shy soul, these periods of isolation made her strong. She had a thirst to prove herself and a nerve that meant she always succeeded, whether it was climbing to the highest part of the tree to beat Ron or breaking into the broom shed to steal Fred’s broom when he wasn’t looking. She devoured books and longed for adventure, and got herself into many scrapes with her parents with her tendency to wander off and explore the world of Ottery St. Catchpole outside of the Burrow.
Charlie and Bill were the brothers she looked up to the most, Fred and George were her favorites, and Percy had a way of tenderness about him that was reserved just for her, but Ron was her closest companion. They bickered and fought, played pranks on one another and got into trouble when they took turns tattling to their parents, but Ron was always there, and close enough in age that he couldn’t force her away from his plans like the rest of them did. Ginny knew his heart better than anyone, saw his desire to be different, unique, special, and tried to prove to him that he was enough for her. Her parents were happily married and in love with each other and each of their children, and though Molly had a fiery temper (that Ginny inherited) and Aruthur a few odd quirks, Ginny couldn’t have wished for better parents. Though they were poor in resources, they were rich in love, and Ginny learned the lessons that her brothers failed to see — money doesn’t bring happiness, people do.
HOGWARTS & CHILDHOOD —
Going off to Hogwarts was a dream come true for Ginny. Every couple of years, she saw another brother (or two) sent off to Hogwarts without her, until finally it was just her alone at home. She loved her parents, but the Burrow was always eerily quiet without her brothers stomping down the stairs or bickering with one another. The year between when Ron left and it was Ginny’s turn was the loneliest year of her life, and she reread all of her brothers’ letters home until the pages were soft and worn, longing for the day when it would be her turn.
When it finally was Ginny’s turn to go to Hogwarts, she was ecstatic. Proud in a different way than her brothers, Ginny didn’t care that her belongings were all second-hand, and the way she carried herself dared anyone to mock her for her family’s poverty. Ginny had such a vivacious and open personality that it should have been the best year of her life, but a last minute switch on the part of Lucius Malfoy turned Ginny’s dream into a nightmare. The year passed faster than any other ever had, with large chunks of it missing, and Ginny turned in on herself, becoming pale and quiet. Her brothers should have noticed that more was going on, but they were all too wrapped up in their own pursuits to see that their sister had disappeared, to be replaced with someone who was meek and fearful. Instead of making a close group of friends around her, Ginny isolated more and more, until that fateful night when Tom Riddle made her lock herself in the Chamber of Secrets.
When Harry destroyed the diary, Ginny was free, and that summer, she began to regain more and more of her typical personality (though for a couple more years, she reverted back to shy and quaking in the presence of Harry). The next few years were the dream that Ginny had always imagined Hogwarts to be — she excelled in her classes, made an excellent group of friends, found that she was quite popular with the boys, and even made the Quidditch squad, proving to all of her brothers that she was made of more mettle than they gave her credit for. She took the brewing war and darkness seriously, but it didn’t make her turn overly serious, and she faced the future with a grim knowledge that she would fight until they won or she died. Once she had that knowledge, she didn’t obsess over it, accepting it with her matter-of-fact personality.
What Ginny didn’t plan on was falling in love with Harry, this time for real. The few weeks that they spent together were the happiest of her life — it finally felt that someone knew all of her and understood her in a way that went deeper than anything verbal. When he broke things off with her after Dumbledore’s death, she faced it with the same determination she faced everything else in life — she would always love Harry, but they each had their role to play in the war, and some things were just bigger than love.
Ginny fought every way she could in the year that followed — joining Neville and Luna in sowing dissension to Snape and the Carrows’ reign, protecting more vulnerable students when she could, rebelling against the darkness other classmates seemed to thrive in. When the battle was finally upon them, Ginny followed the rest of her family to Hogwarts, unable to stay behind and wait while they all flung themselves into danger. Ginny’s quick thinking and bold fearlessness kept her safe throughout the battle, but the horrors she saw that night changed her for good. After losing Fred, there was a seriousness about Ginny that she had lacked before, one that only comes from knowing deep sorrow. In the months that followed, Ginny did everything she could to hold her family together in the midst of their grief. She returned to Hogwarts because she knew she owed it to her parents to finish her education, and she enjoyed her last year of school, but not with the same carelessness that she had once known.
POST HOGWARTS —
DISCLAIMER — I’m keeping some things a little vague because I don’t know where the harry player stands; I’ll definitely flush it more out later at least for myself
It was a relief for Ginny to leave Hogwarts, to be able to be with her family again and learn what it meant to live in a world with no Dark Lord. Light entered back into her world, but it wasn’t the same untainted light that she had once known, and Ginny knew that she would always carry with her the horrors of that battle. Even if she could choose to wipe them from  her memory, she wouldn’t — it would be a dishonor to Fred’s memory.
Still, Ginny experienced much light and joy in these next years of her life. She was recruited to play for her favorite team, she grew ever closer to her family, her world began to fill with nieces and nephews, and she fell back in love (as if she had ever fallen out of it) with the man she wanted to walk beside forever. Eventually, she and Harry were married and started a family of their own. While Ginny kept doing the job that she loved, she found a part of herself that she didn’t know existed in becoming a mother. Her fiery temper and reckless streak didn’t disappear, but were partnered with a tenderness and sense of fear that became constant companions. She discovered that dueling Bellatrix Lestrange wasn’t half so frightening as having your heart walk outside of your body, which was what motherhood felt like for her.
The Potter family settled into a happy little life, finally free from darkness and fear, full of light and life and love. Little did they know what was coming to threaten all of that.
Current:
Ginny was like any child raised in the wizarding world — excitedly fascinated with the idea of vampires, but not really that fearful. They were so rare that they were almost like a fairytale. She never imagined that they would be something that would haunt her adult life, or that her idyllic life would once again be disrupted by darkness, this time a much more unknown and therefore terrifying one.
Ginny is fiercely protective of those she loves and desperate to keep darkness from spreading back into their world — she still feels so keenly what darkness cost her family once before, and she’s determined that there will be no more casualties or suffering among the Potter/Weasley clan. She knows and understands very little about the pandemic that is striking her world, but she desperate to keep it from spilling over, and ready to fight if that’s what it takes to protect the ones who are dear to her.
Plots
— MORE THAN JUST A SCARY STORY — It’s really exciting to explore what Ginny’s feelings are on vampires. There’s so little that’s known or understood about them and I can tell that the plot is very mysterious on purpose, and I’m just really PUMPED to see how Ginny reacts to the darkness converging on the world once more. Obviously she’s going to go into mama bear mode and want to do everything she can to eradicate the darkness, but what does it look like to go up against a threat you don’t understand? This kind of conflict makes blood purity look completely black and white, and how will Ginny fare in a darkness that’s more shades of grey?
— CASUALTIES OF WAR — I would LOVE to explore what would happen in Ginny’s heart and world if one of her family members was infected (which, considering how many of them there are, seems likely). Ginny long ago took it upon herself to be the glue that held her family together, especially after Fred’s death, and she loves her family with a fierce determination not to lose anyone else. What will happen when another Weasley/Potter family member becomes a casualty of a darkness that is somehow more terrifying than the one Ginny has known before?
— SOFTENING THE HEART — I’d also love to see how Ginny’s view on the threat of vampires would change if she came to know one who was good. This is not the same as Death Eaters vs Order members, and not everyone who’s infected has a choice in the matter. Are vampires really that much of a threat, or is the world just afraid of that which it doesn’t understand? What might change in Ginny’s heart with a little understanding?
— THE INFECTION SPREADS — OMG not entirely sure whether this is a set plot I want someday, but what would happen if Ginny is infected in some way? Ginny has definitely got some serious issues when it comes to control — she’s the one who wants to be in control of her life and she thrives in that ability; what angst would it be for her to lose some of that control from an infection she didn’t ask for? Or what if something changes Ginny’s mind and she does seek it out? What would have to happen for that to be the case?
— THE SAME SIDE — I’d love to explore what it might look like if fighting against this darkness puts Ginny on the same side as someone she used to consider an enemy. Will she join Draco in becoming a vampire hunter in an attempt to protect the people she loves? What would it look like for her to put old grudges aside and learn to forgive for the sake of fighting against the darkness? Ginny has some real self-righteousness when it comes to those who fought on the side of the dark — what will her response be to them fighting for the “light”?
— FAMILY DYNAMICS — this is a more lighthearted one, but I’m excited to explore the weasley/potter dynamics at this point in these characters’ lives. Certainly the last 20+ years haven’t been all sunshine and daisies, there had to be a fair bit of suffering and conflict because that’s life, especially in a big family. Which relationships have healed over and which are threatening to break apart? What does Ginny’s marriage with Harry look like, especially now that darkness is threatening their world once more?
OTHER
Random little headcanons I have for Ginny
✨Ginny has a notorious sweet tooth; she needs to eat something sweet at least once a day ✨ Harry does most of the cooking, but Ginny has mastered the art of baking bread, and the smell lingers around their house because of how often she has to stick a new loaf in the oven after her family devours the latest one ✨ If Ginny had her way, she would go barefoot all the time, but since she can’t, she wears sandals whenever she gets the chance ✨ Ginny prefers muggle jeans to wizarding robes, and now that she doesn’t have to basically live in her quidditch robes, she’s most often found in jeans, a sweater, and her birkenstocks – with or without socks (she’s very hip in muggle fashion) ✨ Ginny is not a morning person. Harry has to lure her out of bed with the smell of freshly brewed coffee. When she has to be out of the house really early for morning practices, Harry wakes up to brew her coffee and then goes back to bed once she’s up ✨ Ginny doesn’t really drink. When she was pregnant with Albus, she realized that she actually preferred butterbeer anyway, so she sticks to that. ✨ Ginny has one on one tea with her mum every week, and always stops by her father’s work shed on the way out to see his latest project. ✨ Ginny convinced Harry to let them get a cat, and she promptly named it Minnie (after Minerva McGonagall, of course. Minnie’s become another member of the family. ✨ Ginny loves the ocean, and spent as much time as she could at shell cottage when the kids were all young. Now she makes the family go on vacation to the coast every summer. ✨ Ginny found that after Albus was born, she wanted a daughter just as much as her own mother had wanted her. When Lily was young, Ginny would dress them up in matching outfits and stick her tongue out at Harry whenever he made fun of her for it.
