Renowned Library: The university boasted a renowned library, a treasure trove of Sanskrit texts. Pilgrims like Xuanzang and Yijing carried these texts to East Asia.

Revival: Destroyed in the 12th century, Nalanda was revived in 2014. Today, it stands as a symbol of India’s rich educational heritage.

Parakram Diwas 2023

"Parakram Diwas" (Day of Valor) is a national holiday in India that is observed on January 23rd to commemorate the birthday of Subhash Chandra Bose, an Indian nationalist leader and freedom fighter, who is popularly known as "Netaji". It was first observed in 2018 by the Government of India to honor his contribution to the Indian independence movement.

In Hindi, "Parakram Diwas" is called "Veerta Diwas" and is observed with various patriotic and cultural events, such as parades, speeches, and exhibitions showcasing the life and legacy of Subhash Chandra Bose. It is also an opportunity for people to remember the sacrifices of the freedom fighters and to reaffirm their commitment to the ideals of freedom, unity, and national integrity.

The Government of India also announced that the year 2023 will be celebrated as the 'Year of Subhas' to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose. This year, the theme of Parakram Diwas 2023 is "Re-visiting the Legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and his Ideologies" to celebrate his contributions and to keep his vision alive for the coming generations.
