Pansy followed Astoria's finger as it glided through the air as best as she could, wincing when the light came into contact with her eyes. She turned towards Camden, and smiled softly before looking back to Astoria.

"Oh...thank you...it's alright, just knowing that you like my name is enough." Pansy offered a genuine smile. "All I know is my head has been pounding furiously, and whenever I sit for too long it gets quite hard to breathe...and it kinda hurts as well." She crinkled her nose in frustration, Pansy wanted to know why she couldn't remember anything.

“No, of course not. I just want to test your reactions.” Astoria reached into her bag to pull out a Muggle flashlight that she’d enchanted to work without batteries. She turned it on, keeping a safe distance from Pansy so that she’d not feel threatened. Holding the flashlight up, she lifted one finger. “Can you follow my finger with your eyes?” she asked, moving her finger slowly from one side to the other while keeping the flashlight aimed at one of Pansy’s eyes before repeating the process with the other.

Camden watched, frowning, staying by Pansy just like she’d promised, and Astoria chattered aimlessly, smiling and talking like nothing was wrong. “You have a nice name. ‘Pansy’. Pansies are great flowers. I used to know what pansies meant, but I’ve forgotten since then.” She smiled, dropping the flashlight in her bag. “Could you tell me if you feel any tenderness on your skull? Does it hurt anywhere else?”

"What exactly do you have planned during this examination? You won't hurt me, will you?" She asked, eying the girl carefully.

The thing was, she couldn't remember anything or anyone in the slightest besides falling down what felt like stairs and waking up in the hospital wing, with a bandage around her head and several around her ribs. The feeling of being encased in a room with cloth wrapped around her scared Pansy to death, she didn't like it. When the woman was not watching, she had sneaked out as quickly as possible.

How had Pansy lost her memory?

Camden seemed concerned, and nothing concerned Camden. So either it was really bad or Camden had somehow actually started to like someone enough to be friends with them? Astoria glanced into her bag to make sure she had everything she needed—ideally she’d be able to use spellwork to help Pansy, but if her memory loss was severe, she wouldn’t risk upsetting her or making her even more nervous. Holding her bag close to her side she wrapped a scarf around her neck and yanked on a pair of fingerless gloves before heading outside.

It wasn’t hard to find them; Pansy looked almost serene out there and Camden looked nervous. The second girl waved Astoria over, jogging over to meet her halfway. “She lost her memory?”

“Yeah. Don’t know how. She won’t come into the castle. Says she doesn’t feel safe. I’ll owe you one.”

“No, no, it’s fine.” Astoria waved her hand dismissively at the idea before turning to Pansy with a smile. “Pansy. Hi. I’m Astoria Greengrass. You can call me Tori. Would it be alright if I gave you quick examination? Just a check-up. Maybe we can figure out why you don’t remember anything.”
