lshvalanchlmera:
Slowly he began to take a few slow and careful steps into the room, making sure not to make any startling sounds or make any sudden movements. He didnât want to make her more afraid than she already was. Once he was at least within the door way, he slowly sat himself down. Though the painful sounds of his joints cracking as he sat back were he had stood on the edge of the room.
It was a better idea to maybe let her come over to him, as something of his size looming over her in the darkness would be enough to scare anyone. His name..? Well, heck. It was in there somewhere, he just had to dig for it. Sometimes he knew it, but right now it was just slipping his memory. Almost a minute passed before he finally figured it out.
âCâŠClare is⊠a nice name⊠Iâm⊠Edon⊠I think at⊠least⊠Are⊠you hurt..? And thereâs⊠no need to be⊠scared⊠thereâs nothing here⊠that can⊠harm youâŠâÂ
The chimera did his best to give those consoling words, though what he said was true. It was likely that he was the most intimidating thing around, and he could never hurt a fly. Thankfully his comforting nature had carried over, even in his current state. The kid was always good at calming others, though now it was more difficult given his appearance. As well as the fact that this was the first person that he had been in contact with for about a month or so.
Clare slowly moved her right arm to rub at her face slightly to clear the tears collecting in her eyes. She also wanted to try and get a better look at... whoever was connected to the voice in the dark. She could hear their footsteps as they moved closer, did they have four legs....?
She flinched sightly at the sound of something cracking, were their joints stiff? That was an all familiar sound and feeling all too well herself, would usually be her knee that would crack if she were to put too much weight on it if she was kneeling down. Slowly she looked back towards the voice, all she could make out was a large figure sitting not too far from her. They must not want to get too close to scare her, maybe... just maybe this voice is real as they had a calming tone. A bit gruff around the edges, but still very calm and collected.
âE....Edon? A-And no... Iâm fine, for the most part? Iâve... Iâve never liked the dark.â
More so after her mas-that man had used the pitch dark to punish her. Clare let out a small sniff as she still tried to figure out who was sitting there in the dark. Edon was most certainly big and either black himself and or was a dark colour.Â
âA-Are you okay? I heard... heard your joints cracking when you sat down?â
She assumed Edon sat down, just was hard to tell as they were so big. She slowly started to relax more as this voice was indeed real and connected to someone. Edon was really nice to slowly move towards her to let her know itâs okay. It has been.... been too long since anyone has been this considerate of her well being.Â

The Ishvalan braced herself against the large boxes before looking at the other, nodding to her, seems like they werenât gonna throw her off and they were hitching a ride as well- might as well make conversation.
âYo!â
She simply leaned against the crates while she looked at the other- she had a habit of picking up strays, so of course sheâd probably end up picking up this girl as well, her next question perked her interest.
âUm, yeah, dunno where though, just going wherever the train takes us-â She replied, shoving a hand in her pocket while the other kept herself braced against her crutch, ââm guessin the same is for you? Where you headin, girlie?â
It relieved her a bit to know she wasnât the only stow away in this train, though the other woman seemed a bit tense. Did she think she was going to throw her out...? She doubted she looked like anyone who worked on the train, but she couldnât blame her for not letting her guard down.
Clare slowly cleaned off her pants before moving to sit down on a crate on the opposite side of the other girl. Letting out a small sigh and rolling her left shoulder slightly as it felt a bit off, hopefully something didnât get loose in her automail.
âLikewise... I honestly never checked to see where it was heading, just sort of... jumped on.âÂ
She smiled slightly as that might have been a bit foolish on her part. Wait.. she said âusâ? Does that mean she is traveling with others? Or was she saying us as in the two of them?
âIâm honestly not sure... just somewhere I might find a mechanic?âÂ
Finding a mechanic was much higher on her list than finding a place to finally call home as she knew her arm was.... crudely put together and attached onto her. Now finding someone to work on it without her having money would be a problem.

âââ¶xâ¶; â          maybe if heâd been with someone familiarâmartie, roa, even the bossâhe might'a grabbed their wrist and dragged them a brief ways down the next turn. but he didnât think twice about snagging her. if she missed a turn, if she lost sight of him, that was on her. heâd at least invited her along. âŠâsides, it might even benefit her to get lost. hell if he knew. or cared at this point.
dolcetto swerved down one alley, then the next, never once casting glance over his shoulder or calling back to her. he kept his eyes forward. attention on his own surroundings. he doubted they were clever enough to set some kind of ambush, but one could never be too careful.
the alley heâd been hoping for came into his sights. he smirked to himself, dodging around a crate and dashing into the old, wide garage. or, what heâd always assumed had once been a garage. and once inside, he let himself drop and slide the remainder of the way behind a large tarp covering bricks and boxes, the dust and gravel settling moments after. that sprint had toâve put some decent distance between them and their hunters. âŠthey could wait it out here for a bit⊠then, heâd be clear to head home. finally.
She far she is able to keep up the same pace with the flailing man, he most certainly knew where he was going. He must be from here? Or at least lived here long enough to know the ins and out of this city. How was she going to repay him for his kindness? She most certainly wanted too as he was helping her, though he still seemed annoyed by it. Maybe he just seemed gruff on the outside but was really a softy on the inside? Reminded her of her father in a way...
Clare quickly picked up on the small tells on which way he was going to go, that was very helpful as she still didnât want to get left behind. Especially with whoever is chasing after them wanting them dead. Not that was anything exactly new to her, that was basically her life since she was a child.
Looks like their heading into an abandoned garage? it didnât look as if it has been in use for awhile. Hopefully whoever was chasing them wouldnât come take a look inside. She made sure to avoid the crate the same way he did, not wanting to crash into it making a lot of noise. Once inside the building she followed after him closely and slid under the large tarp after him. This place most certainly has not been used in a long time, look at all this dust! She silently prayed neither of them would sneeze. Looks like theyâll be hiding out here for a bit.
Clare glanced over at him while shifting into a more comfortable position, letting out a low cough after covering her mouth with her arm. She wanted to ask if theyâll be hunkering down here for the time being. Clare decided against it as that would probably be a silly question to ask, not to mention she rather not annoy him again.

From all the fights Clare has been in her pain tolerance has either heightened and or dulled away so she doesnât feel most pain. Not that she is completely numb if she is hurt, it is either a very delayed reaction and or she feels nothing. However her left side is very sensitive from how badly she was injured in the fight that also cost her, her arm.

Reblog if you donât mind Slice-of-Life threads that donât necessarily go anywhere.
â  there is so much development to be made from people just⊠being together. thereâs no need for a whole huge big plot for muses to make memories. just conversation and doing mundane things together is enough sometimes.

REVERENCE
One part of you dreams of giving yourself up â perhaps just for a while â to a hero or mentor. In the right circumstances you can flourish by letting go of your ego. In your inner life, reverence plays out as a willing submission to your own conscience. In the outside world, you might get frustrated searching for something worth believing in â a country, a person, a company â but you will always be open to feeling respect, admiration and wonder.
INDEPENDENCE
You donât set out to be different for its own sake; you are more easily guided by what interests and moves you. You are more concerned about what is right for you than about the pressure to fit in. In sex you are more aware than others of impulses which are not entirely conventional. You know the value of selective irresponsibility, of forgetting occasionally about being âgoodâ.
SHYNESS
Part of you is gripped by the fear that youâll launch into something and completely mess it up. The upside of this is wise caution: people are indeed often too rash, whereas you know, by instinct, that holding back can save you. Probably, you feel shame and self-disgust a bit too much. But when you do feel in your element, you act with a wisdom and sensitivity never found in people with thicker skins.

Hearing the train whistle go off made Lara jump for one second- they were finally heading off, about time. The Ishvalan was beginning to worry something had gone wrong in the front of the cars, she wasnât going to get caught just being a freeloader.
Her head perked up when she heard the doors open, backing into her little corner in case it was someone who worked on the rails, her red eyes peered into the darkness, even with the little light the cracks in the sides and in the doors caused.
âMade itâŠâ
That didnât sound like someone who was checking for stragglers, more like someone who needed a ride but had no moneyâŠ.hm, weird. She thought it best to stay silent for the moment, she didnât want them noticing her- too late.
ââŠ..hi?â She asked quietly, raising an eyebrow before coming out of her hiding spot to get a better look at who just entered.
She was seen...! She was going to get thrown out and- wait... this girl seemed to be hitching a ride for free like herself. Least she hoped so. Why else would she be semi hiding behind some large items?
âH-Hello...?â
Clare managed to smile slightly while shifting from one foot to the other. This girl seemed quite surprised now that she got a better look at her. Suppose her entrance wasnât exactly normal...
âAre you.... also hitching a ride?â
That was most likely a stupid question, but she was going to ask it anyway. She was trying her best to talk to people without behind spoken too first. This was all still quite new to her.Â

@furiousresolve
The train was getting ready to pull out of the station any minute now, and Clare was waiting to sneak on-board. One day sheâd like to actually be seated in the passenger car and not treated as cargo. Just to experience what it was like at least once, it was a bit hard as she currently had no means of getting money.
Suddenly the trains whistle blew signalling it was pulling out of the station. She crouched down where she was hiding a bit further down the tracks to not be spotted. Waiting for the right moment to jump onto the train.
Her moment soon arrived and she bolted towards the moving train and jumped up into the open doorway. Half skidding along the metal frame on all fours like a cat, using her automail arm to stop herself from sliding too far.
âMade it...â
She sighed in relief, slowly standing up not to fall as the train was picking up speed. It will take her a few moments to get used to the movement and be able to move around freely. Just as she stood up straight to get a better look at her surroundings, she spotted a girl sitting across from her.Â
â...!!â
Clare jumped slightly as she wasnât expecting anyone else to be back here. Did she also sneak on-board?

âââ¶xâ¶; â          he was almost to the end of the alleyâright at the cusp of the turn into the back areasâwhen he heard her footsteps not only catch up to him, but practically step on the backs of his heels. dolcetto hopped, tripping a bit as he righted himself and shooting a glance at her from over his shoulder.Â
â âhey, youâre pretty quick! â
this realization came with a small sense of relief. if worse came to worse, she might actually be able to keep up with him. he wouldnât have to hang back, put himself at risk of being shotâor worse.Â
       â good! â
he flashed her a grinâsomething driven more by feral energy than by happinessâand sped through the next alley, beginning the square-grid weave through the buildings. they could use the maze of abandoned stores, garages and apartments to their advantage. if they could put just a little, tiny bit more distance between them and these assholes, they could wait it out in one of the buildings until the coast was clear. which shouldnât take all that long. these morons wouldnât know patience if it walked up to them and slapped them across the mouth.
She practically jumped an inch off the ground when he complimented her on for keeping up, least she thought it was? She was just glad she didnât crash into him this time, she doubted the flailing man would ever want to do that again.Â
âI do my best.â
Clare gave him a small nod before taking in a deep breath, she wasnât exactly winded from them bolting off like that. It was more in relief than anything, though she really shouldnât be taking it easy yet. They werenât out of danger and still needed to lose the men with guns still not far behind them.
Did he just.... grin at her? Maybe he wasnât angry at her anymore for them colliding into one another? No, no it was most likely him relived she can keep up with him. Last thing she wanted to do was be a dead weight to him and make him move slower than he is used too.
Oh-! He is on the move again!
Clare quickly ran up after him not to get left behind, making sure to be careful while moving through the square-grid weave that sat between the buildings. Good thing he knew his way around this, she wouldâve gotten lost if she was doing this by herself. Maybe she could put up a bit of a blocked path between them and the men with guns? Nothing too suspicious and make them think they had to go another way? N-No not yet, letâs see if they can escape first without her using any alchemy, that would be a last resort.Â
#dolcetters#first meeting;Â dolcetters;#fufufufu#I figured the crates would end up falling when Clare hit them XD#not that she is clumsy just the fact they might not have been super sturdy to begin with

lshvalanchlmera:
Oh, so she was afraid of the dark? Well that was understandable. After all, you never knew what sort of creatures might be lurking about. Especially if it could be a monster like him. Although, at this point, his fear of the dark had diminished, as he could see well enough even in total darkness to not fear what may be wondering about.
In fact, by now he preferred to stay in the darkness rather than be exposed in the light. With fur as dark as his was it was easier to keep hidden when sticking to the shadows even with his large size. It was also better for his health to stick to the shade, too, as black fur didnât do very well when out in the sun. Â
Right now it seemed as though she needed some sort of comfort, maybe he could try and show her that it was alright? After all, it wasnât as bad in the dark as it seemed. Keeping his distance for now was probably the best though, he didnât want to startle her with his appearance.
He kept to the doorway, once again speaking in as soft a voice he could manage. Even with how distorted that voice of his voice really was, he did his best to speak in a comforting way.Â
âOh⊠Itâs okay⊠Youâre⊠safe hereâŠ. I promise⊠What is⊠your name..?âÂ
Perhaps a bit of idle chit-chat might help calm the other down?
It was only a matter of time till the voice, which she was still hoping wasnât a figment of her imagination, would start to tease her for being afraid of the dark. It had surprised her that she even stated what was wrong, maybe it was from its sort of calming voice? It was strained, but it had a genuine gentle tone to it.
They surprised her yet again with their voice talking to her, trying to be as comforting as they were able. Maybe it hurt for them to talk? Or they didnât talk all that much so it came out strained? Was something that happened to her from time to time as her mas-boss only allowed her to speak when spoken too.
Name.... what name should she give? She had her given name, which at times she almost forgotten. Her fighting name, ah.. maybe she shouldnât give that one out. Last thing sheâd want is for them to get intro trouble calling her by that name if someone recognized it. Then the... no, no not the numbers.
â.... C...Clare......â
Her voice came out almost like a whisper, she was still trying to tell herself it was okay. She wasnât alone...? Also this voice sounded really nice...
âW-What..... i-is.....is your name?â
A small sniffle finally escaped from her lips when she shifted her arms slightly. She was putting her leg to sleep from how hard she was squeezing from her automail arm.
#lshvalanchlmera#lshvalanchlmera first meeting;#Awww sweet cutie~<33#She will thank him for it later I'm sure :D
