Urban regeneration of Agua Azul District

2023

Proposal for the regeneration of a neighborhood in Agua Azul District in Downtown Guadalajara.

Over the course of my last two semesters as an architecure student, I, along with my team, developped an urban regeneration for the Agua Azul District in Downtown Guadalajara. 

The making of this proposal involved on-site work and research with which it was possible to come up with a solution to restore the streets while incorporating sustainable and environmental improvements that could potentially help rebuild the social structure and reconnect San Carlos to Agua Azul park and surrounding areas. 

Furthermore; two multi-family housing projects with low environmental impact were also designed in order to provide affordable and decent housing, promoting the repopulation of this neighborhood.

The idea was to incorporate a building as well as to adapt the original inside of the house to build a boutique hotel without causing a big impact to the space.

Proposal for the creation of a self-supporting structure.

The idea was to create a space for meditation and introspection with a self-supporting structure that could be placed anywhere in the world.

Proposal for a boutique hotel in Guadalajara city.

The idea of this project was to follow a specific program and include all the spaces and services necessary whilst following the restrictions and building guidelines for the zone it was situated in.

We wanted to create a space that allowed the user to focus on one central garden surronded by the different spaces in the hotel.

El Ixtepete Archaeological Park

2021

Proposal for the rehabilitation of a historical archaeological site in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mx.

The idea of this project was to rehabilitate El Ixtepete Archaeological Park. Currently, El Ixtepete is a historical archaeological site which does not get a lot of government funding. It is mainly visited during the spring equinox every year, as people perform spiritual rituals for healing and energy renewal, as is customary in Mexican archaeological sites. The rest of the year, this place is open to the public but does not receive the necessary maintenance and care. 

With this rehabilitation proposal, I was looking to create a space that would help involve the community in the caring of the site whilst also providing public spaces which could be used by the people who live in this area, but maintaining the important archaeological structures in a safe area.
