It’s that time of year again, and this time I’m at a new school, in a new (and very empty) classroom. I’ll be teaching a more philosophical course than I’ve ever taught before, so I want to try to establish a dark academia vibe in the classroom. Hopefully, being surrounded by things that make students feel like they’re in a library at Oxford or in a study hall at Hogwarts will influence them during class discussions. Any help in getting my classroom set up for a new school year would be greatly appreciated!

I truly cannot describe how dystopian Florida is getting. I know my posts wouldn’t count because I don’t receive any compensation for them, but I want everyone to know that should this bill pass, I will take every opportunity to shit on the governor, lieutenant governor, cabinet members, and state legislature of Florida.
#all of us teachers are already gearing up for the district to send in personnel to document books in our classroom#funny how we have to keep organized lists of which books are where but to suggest say a registry of firearms? unconstitutional.#my own state representative is trying to pass a law that makes it easier to sue the press for libel because he’s tired of Florida Republican#being called racist and being told they’re responsible for Covid deaths in this state
