ARTIST RESIDENCY

We’re happy to announce a new possiblity - an artistic residency with us. 

Our lab has 2 levels - a production floor, and a residential floor. All together it’s 120+ square meters.  During your residency you can use all facilities for living (as bedroom, kitchen, shower, internet, etc.), + facilities for production (RISO and Xerox printers, paper, instruments, guilloitine cutter, and binding techniques). You can use personal guidance in techniques & tools, and attend our workshops. 

The residency is good for people outside Amsterdam, who want to combine their stay in the city with the producing of their artistic works. 

The residency is a field of eternal experimentation, with access to the facilities 24/7. There is no obligation to produce, but a lot of inspiring materials, talks, and events. 

The residency gives you a possibility to produce artist print editions, and artistic books, under the name of our publishing brand or independently. We can help you with promotion and distribution of your work and arrange your exhibition or a publication launch in our bookstore/gallery “Paper Fetish” in the centre of Amsterdam. 

Duration of the residency can vary from 3 days to 3 months (upon request). 

Deadline for application: 1th of each month (season of residency - upon appointment). 

Costs: residency fee, transport and material costs are not included. There is possibility of funding applications & travel costs covering (to be discussed).

We grant 4 free residencies per year, duration of 1 week, based on applications.

WORKSHOPS with us

RISO is a very specific technique. It requires knowledge of how to transfer an initial image (drawing, collage, painting, photo, text or a combination of those) into a RISO graphics. This requires colour separation and knowing the cpeicifiques of the machine, and the working process. 

That’s why we organize a workshop. It’s cool and fun - to learn how to print your own work, together in a nice team. 

We give workshops on specific subjects

- How to make a Riso print of your DRAWINGS

- How to make a Riso print of your PHOTOGRAPS

- Collage & Riso printing

- How to make a zine with your Riso prints

- How to make a calendar with your Riso prints

Our workshops are mostly every Saturday, at our lab: Zamenhofstraat 150, Amsterdam

We can make separate workshops for groups at other days on appointment

Normal duration of a workshop = 6 hours, with a break. 

As a result of a workshop, you get an approved sertificate, which grants you a possibility to use our lab later independently, at any convenient time for you.

Printing with us

We have at this moment 3 risograph machines. 1x RISO A4 with colours: - black, green, red, blue 1x RISO A4 with colours: - black, green, red, yellow, blue, fluorescent orange, gold 1x RISO A3 with black colour. Printing costs: -1 colour master A4 = 3.50 euro - 1 black master A3 = 5 euro - 1 page print = 10 cents* *not included paper. Paper costs might vary, depending on quality, thickness etc. or you can bring your own paper. Please note that the RISO doesn’t print on every kind of paper. Check with us before you buy certain kinds of paper.

About us

Hello! We’re a new initiative in Amsterdam, devoted to alternative priniting techniques with RISOgraph and Xerox, and supporting artists in creating their prints and artist books. 

We organize workshops on RISO prining (every saturday, please check our facebook page for more info: https://www.facebook.com/paperfetishamsterdam

we also run an artistic residency for specific production projects.
