Putting all of the Minecraft silliness aside, that episode was actually insane.

That MaSM episode was pretty dark. I mean- they play light music over it, but the whole thing was much different than the channel's usual random silliness.

Regardless, I liked it and it inspired me to draw again. Can't complain about that.

I've always said the SAMS/LAES will eventually come to an end because the fandom doesn't know how to behave and stay on its line.

It's a different story to not like every character or every plot point in a story and criticise them to your followers or talk about them with your friends, but constantly only complaining how much you hate the writing, the characters, everything, is just not it. You are hate-watching which is kinda shitty ngl.

Even bigger issue comes from the very reason I was personally afraid of ever joining the fandom; the parasocial relationship people seem to share with the writers/VAs and fan creators in this fandom.

I don't know if the people in this fandom are just so young or just so chronically online, that they think fandom problems should be addressed and taken care of by the show writers. Because that's not how it works.

I don't think I've ever witnessed a fanbase so directly horrible to its creators than the SAMS/LAES fandom. You don't need to go harrass and cry to the show writers or VAs when you dislike something, or when someone in the fandom ships a ship you personally don't like. That's parasocial and just generally shitty behaviour.

Some people have clearly lived such spoiled lives they think they're entitled to send death threats to the VAs when something in the shows doesn't go as they want. Or if the VAs state their boundaries and wish to take a step back for their mental health.

If you think sending death threats is okay behaviour please go back to your mum's womb and grow a little brain. The VAs are people. They have feelings, they have lives and they have their health to take care of.

If you find a fic in AO3 that is titled "The Celestial Family's Road Trip" DO NOT READ IT. It's a corrective rape fic of SolarxMoon where Solar rapes Moon to "fix" him out of his aroace orientation. The title is a bait. The tags appeared normal, like the usual character tags. The summary just says "The usual silly family things" The author is an orphan account, and sadly, that means we can't find out who the author actually is.

The author's note at the end says "Dedicated to aroace fuckwads and celestial family-obsessed fucktards <3"

I don't want to see any excuses of this being "just dark fiction". As a lesbian, I will deck you in the face if you excuse this. It was written to harm people, specifically, a minority group who also, unfortunately, deal with corrective rape or threats of it just like us lesbians. They disguised it as a harmless cutesy fic to lure their targets. This is done with malicious intent and nothing more.

I wish Sun had more opportunities to bond with people outside of Moon. It feels like every character has a strong bond with one another except for Sun. I understand meta-wise it's because Sun’s VA plays almost every other character and it's probably not easy to roleplay with yourself, plus the added stress on the voice for having to change pitch so often, but story wise it feels like Sun is just disconnected from his family. I found it really sad that Solar had this deep connection with everyone in the family, giving Earth and Lunar support, literally being connected at the hip with Moon for the entire time he was in that dimension; meanwhile, he seemed critical of sun at worst and distant at best, using Moon most of the time as a proxy to help Sun. I’m sure he cared about Sun, he said he was proud of both of them, but it just felt like Sun received the bare bones of Solar’s affection. And there's something painful about seeing your entire family grieving over someone who didn't really give the same amount of love to you as they did to them. Each of them had their own special moments spent with Solar while Sun has nothing.

How when Earth was kidnapped by Stitchwraith and Sun defended Monty and Foxy from Moon’s anger and Moon replied with ‘What if it was me that was hurt’, like he didn’t believe Sun was at all affected by the terrifying events and that Sun didn’t care about Earth like Moon did. How when Sun offered Earth a hug and she denied it (Not blaming her, she was deeply upset at time), but moments later she accepted a hug from Lunar. How Sun just leaves, and Lunar, Earth, and Monty go off to grieve without him. He had bonding moments with Earth, but it still feels like Lunar and Moon are closer to her. When he speaks to them, he doesn't know what to say or how to respond most of the time. It sometimes sounds like he is talking to a complete stranger. He is awkward when he tries to do sibling dynamics, unintentionally hurting Earth's feelings or just plain pissing off Lunar or Moon- it doesn't feel like the good nature ribbing that Moon and Lunar do to one another. And can’t forget to mention that one time Lunar told Sun he knows Moon better because he lived in his head. I know Sun said he’s in the best mental state he’s been in a while, but sitting alone in your house just seems extremely lonely. I hope that if Bloodmoon or Eclipse (to parallel Solar and his Sun) get redeemed, it's Sun who is the one that reaches out first. Though, with what the show has foreshadowed it's most likely going to be Lunar or Moon to reach out to Eclipse, and Blood moon most likely will get killed off.

It feels like Sun is not only overshadowed by Moon, but also by his entire family. I just want on-camera bonding for Sun like everyone else has gotten. They did his mental health healing off camera, which I’m still disappointed about, I just want Sun to get more wholesome family or friend screen time.

Okay, Sun and Moon Show theory time on what I think Sun’s purpose as a character is.

There’s this song I listened to where two lyrics made me realize how Sun functions as a character: “Look me in the eyes now, Lex, and make a solemn vow to be your best self now” and “I can show you the path, but only you can walk it” (“Monsters and Men (Reprise)” from Black Friday. The song makes me think of Solar’s Sun for Reasons)

I think of the end of Lunar’s nightmare in that one episode, where, when he accepts who he is and decides to grow up and get better, Sun shows up. It’s calm and weirdly liminal, and it almost represents that “stepping into the light” moment. While we haven’t seen it yet, Lunar still shows signs that he will get better and improve as a person after this (even with what’s happened right now)

I think of how, after Moon finally accepted and made peace with Sun, their lives greatly improved — even if Moon severely mistreated Sun afterwards, which inevitably led to their lives pretty much going downhill.

I think of Eclipse, and how he refused Sun’s offer for allyship and finding a way to free him, but Eclipse laughed in his face and said he only wanted to torment them. From then on, Eclipse has been in a downward spiral ever since.

I think of the universes without a Sun. The Moon who killed his Sun, who became mad and attacked the other Pizzaplex residents, basically leading to that universe’s calamity. I think of all those universes where someone got the Star and basically plunged the world in darkness one way or another (apart from Earth lol).

I think of Weird Sun (aka “Evil” Sun. His dimension is known as the Weird Dimension, so that’s where that comes from), whose Moon refused any offers for peace or compromise time and time again until Sun snapped and seized full control of their body, sealing Moon in darkness. His agency and the fact he’s pretty much gotten rid of any problems from his universe (ie: his Creator) suggests that, if Sun wasn’t bogged down by anxiety and self-hatred, he could accomplish anything he wanted. Everyone calls Sun “dumb” or an “idiot” and makes him doubt himself constantly. Imagine what he could do if he didn’t.

I think of Foxy, who, after wallowing in pity after having his life completely ruined by the Stitchwraith, returned from his depression arc and did not go to his friends but instead went directly to Sun (Kidscove W). He called Sun safe and said he didn’t make Foxy feel insecure since they’re more alike than different. Puppet noted how it was odd that Sun was the first place Foxy went to after returning, and while I do think it was just for Foxy to ease himself back into his life by playing videogames with a friend who won’t judge him, I also think this return symbolizes the same thing as the end of Lunar’s nightmare. And since then, while we likewise haven’t seen the outcome, Foxy’s life has slowly started to turn back around, and he plans to get his son FC back with the help of his friends and eventually give FC to Sun and his siblings since Foxy doubts his abilities as a parent and just wants his son to be safe.

That all being said, my theory on what Sun’s purpose as a character is is that he is the light. He is the key to any person’s ability to better their life, so long as they accept him. If they turn away from Sun, they are led down a dark path that is difficult or borderline impossible to return from (as can clearly be seen by Eclipse).

Bloodmoon and Stitchwraith can try to kill Sun. Any villain can try to kill Sun. Sun can even try to off himself. But in every instance where he very well should have died (oh geez, I could list so much. The universes where he was put in danger but pulled out at the last second. When he lashed out at Eclipse at Moon’s base and exploded the place sky high, where he very much well should’ve exploded too. The same instance where he harnessed star power to blast Eclipse, where he ruined his body and was practically a walking skeleton. Etc etc. Bro has plot armor), he didn’t. Sun may wish himself dead, but the universe said “bitch, you will live” because, without the Sun, it means the end of everything. He is the light. He is the center. He is the sun.

I hope I put this right. I’ll stop waxing poetic about a silly fnaf roleplay character now. Hope my theory makes some sense and I don’t sound insane rn lol
