i promised you the moon had the ability to make me love their relationship, hate it, and then be happy with it all in a satisfying way.  

I like how when Teh is cheating, the show doesn’t try to pretend he’s not or that Oh is heartless for leaving him. We hate him for what he does to Oh and are damn proud when Oh confronts him and eventually breaks up with him. 

We see how the breakup allows them to grow and, my personal favorite, learn to love themselves on their own. it is SO hard for people to actually give themselves the months or years it takes to really be ready for a relationship, let alone letting someone who hurt you so badly back in, but my god Oh did it.   

I had no idea they’d get back together. I mean they have chats and Oh even goes to see Teh’s play, but each time Oh knows what is best for him and gives himself the time to really consider if its worth it. 

and the best part? the show doesn’t act like they’ll be together forever. Oh acknowledges this thing they have will come with challenges and they will change again as people. They love each other as they are now and want to put the work in. but hey they could break up and that would be okay too. Everything about them getting back together was in Oh’s hands, no one in his life forced him to, even Bas said either option would be fine as long as Oh felt happy. 

And let me clarify, i  don't think most people should get back with cheating exes, i was struggling with the idea of them getting back together at first. but something about how long it took and how happy he was on his own let me be happy with the ending. it just felt right.

Gene’s Dad is a real one

When Gene says:

 Gene’s dad could’ve gotten mad and told him off 

 He could’ve said “I told you so” 

 But instead he lets Gene cry

he supports him

and this has to be one of my favorite shots because my God Gene is at the lowest point right now and the person who at first was so angry with the relationship is there letting Gene be a child and cry in his father’s arms.

damn ep 11

once again ep 11 of a thai bl has left our couple in shambles but damn i actually felt like this breakup made sense. 

The company had every right to ask them to not be public. Jobs are on the line for hundreds of people: the production company, the cast and crew, the publishing company’s employees, the investors and their employees. a lot of money goes in and out of these shows so while its heartless and cold to ask a couple to denounce each other in public, at the end of the day it’s understandable why. sure the higher ups wouldn't be too affected but they'll start firing people and decreasing pay if stuff falls apart and it's the little ppl that end up the most hurt. so yeah Tum’s sister comes off like a bitch, but while people are accusing her of being selfish, she has people who work for her to worry about. 

the reality is this is the fans fault. Aey had some part to play by stirring things up, but in the end the fans being upset by their ship not being real is what caused a REAL couple of break it off for 4 months. after years of pining, after months of struggling, and after days of having their families fight them on their relationship they finally found happiness and it was US that tore them apart. i  think the show did a good job showing how sure there were fans that supported Nubsib and Gene and asked people to back off, but a majority of fans were those who supported the main couple which is accurate to how we all are and those who did support them were canceled online. The companies that seem so selfish are only doing what they can in response to these fans reactions. had the fans just not cared or supported them the company wouldn’t have needed to do anything. 

i sit here and wonder what could’ve been done and nothing else could’ve helped the situation. coming out in public as official and asking for support would’ve maybe made a few people change their minds but the overall reaction would’ve been to cancel the show for Aey’s sake. trying to hide wouldn’t have done anything since they already were technically and were found pretty easily and even before they were official people were taking photos of them in public.  if Nubsib left the show it would been canceled and people would lose jobs and money. Both him and Gene would be hated in the public eye for a very long time, especially Gene for causing their beloved actor to quit. 

i  guess the sad truth is that while i can happily say i don't do this and maybe you can too, there are so many fans that would be angry if Bright or Win had a girlfriend irl or countless other bl actors. The gender isnt what matters here it’s people’s fantasies being ruined and them being unable to accept it. And while im glad this show called those people out, this will continue to happen and its why kpop idols arent supposed to be dating.  

The fact that we ended the episode knowing they’ve been apart 4 months shatters my heart. Neither of them did anything wrong. Nubsib wasn’t wrong to want to stay with Gene, that’s his private life. But Gene wasn’t in the wrong to break it off because he knows the consequences it would have on others.

genes dad not so bad?

i just wanna put out a theory before they drop ep10. 

based on the trailer and the hints in ep9, i think Gene’s dad only is homophobic from a traumatic experience when he was dating men and becauses of that will be more supportive later on.

 maybe his own father wasn’t accepting and abusive, maybe he was heavily bullied by his classmates and friends, or maybe his exes were pieces of shit idk. point is it's not like he finds the idea of gay men to be fundamentally wrong in a social or religious way, it's more of a negative experience that caused him to generalize the community and assume that gay relationships will always result in heartbreak or pain.

from the trailer is looks like gene’s dad (especially in comparison to Sib’s dad) speaks with a softer tone and expression when asking Gene if he really loves Sib and at the end even looks like he’s opening the door, ready welcome Sib into their home (aka accept him) or at the very least have an honest conversation.  

i honestly believe Gene’s dad just needs to be shown how healthy their relationship is and how happy Gene is and he’ll be okay and maybe even fight for them. 

sib’s dad will 100% be the biggest obstacle the boys will face. he definitely finds the idea of being gay to be wrong and while he isn't yelling, he’s very serious and cold when he tells Nubsib that he doesnt agree with their relationship. he clearly has high expectations for Nubsib and he’s giving off “you’re embarrassing the family” vibes. they're both clearly rich, influential families and i wouldn’t be surprised if Sib’s father tries his damndest to use whatever resources he has to keep them apart. 

anyway ill be back in like a couple of days to scream-rant about ep10
