it's just as you remember. the stench of oleander
if frigidity was a demon, I'd let him have my heart.
it's just as I remember. a brand new, fresh disaster
if I had a soul to speak of, I'd let you break it apart.

we could've been poetry in motion, my dear. we could've caught eyes and kept them with the way we moved together. but you had to twist the knife. and now I've grown armor, now we've lost the chance, we're ghosts.

And she melted.
She rewrote her life to be like those candy-eyed cartoons, where everyone is kind and strained.
She twisted herself into caramel, in the darkness of a place no one knew.
She watched the clouds clear, stars appear, and she grew.

the garden of my mind is curated
oh so carefully
them, for when there's no one else
her, for when I need someone
like honey
him, for reasons I
I can't quite place
but time will tell.
oh, will time
tell.

Don't mind me, I'm just busy screaming. Just dying a casual death, roped up in my own ambitions. Simple things, really, and so, so, deadly, dripping poison like lava, hopelessly ensnared. I want to be happy, so I push myself to exhaustion. I want to be loved, so I become whoever you need me to be. I feel fine. Either growing up means becoming stronger, or lowering your standards.

it's probably fine
most kids probably don't dream of a gentle chill overtaking them or a wildfire, leaving nothing but gemstones and bones there are people who would kill for this there are people who could never do what i do. it's nothing but smoke a paltry excuse.

Any king could tell you: A ruler is strong. Any queen could tell you: A ruler is just. Any princess could tell you: A ruler can't be wrong. Any prince could tell you: We do as we must.

silence in the space between the words I never spoke all alone in the twilight classroom, but for her, and her, and her, and and, I'm all alone in the twilight castle, but for a candleflame, my kingdom for a spark.

you're off base. foul. let them eat pound cake while you pound them to bits, was that it? I'd expected a game plan from the guy with a hand in the apocalypse. Even so, this isn't it - I'm still here, aren't I? Best hear the world's dying cry, just you and I, before the night falls and curtain calls resound.
