i reaaaaaaaally want to try and write something for the k resurrection fest

so i'm rewatching lost small world stage and having just. so many feelings, all over again.

there's something really fascinating about the contrast between saruhiko's sulky apathetic asshole exterior and the intensity he puts into everything. programming an entire messaging app just because yata wanted his contact info. throwing so much of himself into work that it takes multiple people to replace him. trying to burn the proof of his and yata's bond right off of his skin. can't be traumatized by your dad's bullshit if you just become your dad! and so on.

but if you asked i don't think he'd consider himself to be an intense or passionate person at all.

biggest mindfuck is the fact that it can be so so difficult to tell the difference between when it's time for "do it bored/scared/stupid but by jove just do it" and when it's time for "if it sucks hit the bricks"

I was going to specify "the first time" but then I realized I'm actually more likely to spell my name automatically if I know they're looking it up in a set of records

I have several WIPs! none of them are going anywhere in a hurry. but here's the most recent one:

The first time Jing Yuan had tried to bring Dan Heng into his bed, they'd only just made it past the bedroom door before getting sidetracked.

The memory of Dan Heng on his knees, sweetly pleading—please, General, may I— as he'd nuzzled into Jing Yuan's thigh, still steals Jing Yuan's breath away; Dan Heng's mouth, applied with the same desperate enthusiasm, had made short work of Jing Yuan's composure. But as pleased as he had clearly been to please Jing Yuan, he had balked at the idea of reciprocation.

Jing Yuan hadn't pressed the issue. To spend time with Dan Heng, to hold him close, to once again wake in the middle of the night with the tip of a delicate antler wedged painfully beneath his jaw… that had been more than enough.)
