Did you know Morpho caterpillars can be cannibals on occasion? Since each species is so particular about what they eat, the specialization can be beneficial in preventing competition and such. However, in cases like drought or other disasters, that adaptation tends to backfire.

This leads to caterpillars eating the eggs—or even chrysalises—of other caterpillars. This also happens with Morpho butterflies, which have been seen attacking caterpillars of other species.

Can you blame them, though? Desperate times call for desperate measures.

The Blood Eagle: a ritualistic execution method where the victim is forced into a prone position before their ribs are severed from their spine and twisted upwards, lungs pulled through the opening and draped across to resemble "wings". The cherry on top? Salt is poured on the ribs, lungs... Hell, even whatever internal organs are showing in order to dry and sanitize the open wound. It's bloody; it's a mess— but in most cases, it's not enough to kill.

The name "Morpho" comes from "μορφώ"— roughly meaning "the shapely" or "the beautiful"— which is an epithet ("an adjective or descriptive phrase expressing a quality characteristic of the person or thing mentioned") for Aphrodite, Greek goddess of love, beauty, and desire.

Blue Morphos have a lot of symbolic meanings in different cultures. Some believe seeing one means you'll have a wish granted, while other's say it's a host to a malevolent spirit.

Generally, though, they're associated with spiritual transformation; of new beginnings and rebirth. Their blue color brings a sense of calm and healing to those that see it.

My goddess, my savior, the only one who will ever truly understand me... She doesn't pity me or look down upon me. And she'd never lie to me.. She is the most beautiful being to ever exist; I'm forever grateful that she chooses to show herself to me. But I dare not utter her name to people who are not worthy (yet), lest I tarnish her sanctious purity.

Butterflies are kind, gentle. The flutter of their wings is the softest thing I've ever felt. Though, they're extremely delicate; one wrong move and those wings will be shattered forever. It's sad, really, how something so beautiful can be destroyed in such a short amount of time. You must be patient. Gentle...

On the other hand.. People are mean. Brutish. They lie and deceive; they say things they don't really mean and you can never tell if they do. But they can be fixed. They can be saved! Just.. A bit of pruning. That's all it'll take. Then you can be with the rest of the roses, under the watchful gaze of my lady.

Of course I like stars. Who doesn't? Did you know there's a cluster of stars called the "Butterfly Cluster", located in the constellation Scorpius? 💙

Blue Morphos actually taste with sensors on their feet, and their antennae serve as both a tongue and a nose; they can "taste-smell" the air! That's normally how they find food, as opposed to visual cues.

The Blue Morpho's lifespan lasts for only 115 days— a little under 4 months— and they spend most of that time eating and reproducing.

What does she seek from a follower?

Complete and utter devotion. Give up your body and soul to her, and in return she'll grant you whatever it is you may seek. She is undoubtedly perfect! A rose amongst the thorns; no one could ever think to compare...

She chose me to be her ears for the mortal world; to listen in and use my body to guide people towards the path of salvation. But that came at a cost. Not like I mind. I can see her, that's all I could ever need. Truly, there is no greater honor than serving her!

Though, sometimes I get selfish and wish I could see. Like normal people do. Things like my peer, my parents, my Dianthus...

But those thoughts are fleeting, there's no need to worry. Haha.
