idk man there's just something about the capitol doing everything in their power to erase haymitch's humanity and love for his allies and crafting a purely selfish, callous image of him to send back to the districts only for him to still be greeted with support and care when he returns to district 12, even from louella's family. I don't know if I can even articulate it but yeah... the capitol tried but they couldn't erase the love and the community that already existed in the districts.

Big difference between 50th and 74th Games is the attitude of the Tributes towards each other. The kids in the 50th are far friendlier to the others, including from their own district.

I'm thinking the reason you don't have much interaction with other Tributes before the Games by the 74th is to prevent situations like the Newcomers and d12s group hug happening. Making them forget who the real enemy is
