her name was Marsha P Johnson, and we have her to thank for so much.

remember, the first Pride was a riot, and she was one of the brave souls who endured it to help carve the path which so many of us walk today. she helped found several activist groups regarding LGBT safety and wellbeing. and she was absolutely radiant, too.

gonna just leave this comment i made on reddit here. i am so tired.

I'm so tired of seeing the phandom complain about Dan and Phil charging for a ticket to the live show. You'd think people who claim to support them and admire them would encourage their success and would want to put money towards their art and creation that they've put so much of themselves into to make happen. At the very least you could stop being so negative about it.

I've been a follower of them for over a decade now. And there were A LOT of times in that decade that I couldn't afford a tour, or a book, or merch, or really anything of theirs that they released with a price tag on it. But to be mad at them about that? It's ridiculous and unreasonable. As a fan, I'd love to have had the ability to have all of those things throughout the years. But I can still enjoy them and their content regardless of the things I couldn't pay for, and they still provide so much to fans without a price tag on it too. And compared to so many other goods or services out there, the prices they offer for their products really aren't unreasonable.

The reality is that they've created something big, something that takes extreme amounts of effort and planning, something that they worked so hard to bring together and to bring it to as many fans as they had the means to do. And that in itself takes so much money to pull together on its own. And that's just talking about the Terrible Influence Tour, that's not even including everything else they continue to work on and produce for us.

This point in their life, they've worked towards for so long. Why be mad that they have the ability to sustain a happy life while also providing this level of content for us to experience? They're artists, they're allowed to monetize their art.

i mean this so genuinely but dan and phil have seriously made me realise that getting older does not mean you have to feel any different. You don't have to conform to societal expectations of life and its stages and you can just experience growing up the way you want.
