Whoo boy. Let me just say, YouTube is a cesspool, and I made the mistake of not creating an alt account to ask the creator of that meme video to take it down. I was getting notifications to my phone with all the horrid comments people were leaving in reply - the most frustrating being the victim-blaming ones, who just couldn’t grasp the concept of grooming despite the many (far more patient than I) commentors trying to explain to them why 14-year-olds don’t have the power to consent.

It was incredibly overwhelming and so I turned my notifications off and took a step away from the whole scene for a couple of weeks. Today I had the mental space I needed to come check in, and I am so, so glad I did, because my inbox here is absolutely overflowing with the love, support, and kind words I needed.
