   As those words hung in the air he stopped knowing that the other was hurt. There was a hole in both their heart after he forced his quirk onto Yoichi.

   So the only thing he could rationalize to keep the other safe was lock him up. Because at this point he knew he would run away, their relationship was in tatters.

Hisashi knows he only has himself to blame for that.

   This visit had been fruitless, maybe even hurtful to them both as the other had been hostile. But the moment he saw he was about to leave the younger siblings expression changed to hurt.

   "Yoichi," he actually hesitated and looked back at his little brother as the young man sneered at him for broken promises.

   “I get it, I’m a liar. I kept all this hidden then I forced a ‘quirk’ on you but at this point I can’t watch you 24/7,” he sneers and he wants to. God at this point he wishes he could just thankful that no one can ever see him acting like this in these walls.

   So human and vulnerable. Disgusting.

   “I know the moment I let you out you will run, maybe try to stop an operation. Maybe foolishly go to the government then end up as a prisoner of war, or maybe jump off the bridge like you been acting like since I put you here,” he points out frustrated. His little brother always had self-destructive tendencies but now they have reached their peak. “You’re my only family and I refuse to lose you one way or another you will work with me dammit.”

“Yoichi, it’s only for a little while,” Hisashi sighs exasperated knowing that it hasn’t exactly been easy. Their parents literally abandoned them and it was by the skin of their teeth they avoided going in a home. But it is only if Hisashi basically keeps doing odd jobs to fund money.

Though lately with his quirk he has found some... Interesting ways to earn money.

“Look, I get that you’re acting out because now that mom and dad abandoned us you feel like crap so want my attention. But I have to make money your medicine is expensive and I can’t spend time with you.”

He speaks with intent hoping he can make his little brother understand that he isn’t about to abandon him. It just he needed to work a lot to be able to make up for the insane amount of money that keeps Yoichi’s heart pounding. 

He was starting to understand why the parents fussed about Yoichi’s well being but he won’t say that. They abandoned them and they can rot for all he cares.

Cain Instincts

— the nuzzling sent another wave of nausea through his body, head instinctively leaning away as they slowly traveled to the bedroom. every nerve and fiber of yoichi’s body fought against hisashi’s grasp, but no move was made to remove his hand. He didn’t want the other to suspect that something was wrong. It doesn’t change how corrupted he felt being close with a man who was responsible for needless blood - shed, the separation of families, torture …. All of it. with a new perspective concerning the truth behind hisashi’s work, he doesn’t understand why his older brother bothers with him — why he tries to help him, despite hurting everyone else.

it’s confusing, and the mixture of guilt and disapproval makes him want to drop to his knees and hurl . it would be easier if hisashi wasn’t the reason yoichi’s heart could still beat, if he hadn’t done everything to protect him their whole lives. if he wasn’t shown kindness, if he had never looked up to his older brother, it would make killing him to stop the slaughter far easier.

this overwhelming guilt is the sole drive behind his hand reaching upwards to grab hisashi’s shoulder from behind, acting as a side hug . the first act of affection yoichi had spared him since finding out about all these crimes. “ … thank you, big brother. ”

once they get to the door of their bedroom, the younger immediately removes himself and heads for the bed without a word. he’s quick to throw himself under the covers, acting like a sleep deprived prisoner who hadn’t slept in days. the soft pillow feels like a rock under yoichi’s head. a rock that would soon be used to snuff the life out of his brother ; just as the biblical Cain had done so in his act of mortal sin.

   Oh, it wasn’t like Hisashi wasn’t aware of his little brother less then stable mentality it is why he wants to watch him carefully. Even put a slight pause in his whole ‘cult’ thing for the intent purpose of watching him carefully. Knowing Yoichi did not handle the knowledge of his true occupation well.

   Well that is a understatement he is sure the other is still going through the seven layers of grief and since is the only thing he cares about has been keeping an eye on him. As he always does able to see the bags under his eyes, the way his demeanor has become miserable. He isn’t biting or being as rebellious if anything he has become resigned.

   “I am my brothers keeper after all,” he teases a hint as allows his little brother to jump into bed first. Stretching as he goes to go into bed himself it felt like he was tucking himself into a coffin.

   His instincts were sensing something is wrong as he looked at his little brother pretending to sleep as he goes to lay down. It didn’t take long for him to fall asleep, it wasn’t like he had anything to fear from the weaker little brother.
