Thanks <3 I'm turning it off because despite being non-active for like... god knows how long, I receive at least one spam message almost daily from fake blogs claiming to be victims in Gaza, and it makes me sick. People are actually suffering and scammers are using that to try and manipulate people with good hearts into giving them money, it's honestly terrible and I hate seeing those anon messages in my inbox.

thomas doesn't have a favorite animal because he feels like he's betraying other animals by having a favorite

he hates horror movies because they make his anxiety flare (the cartoons on the TV in 2003 were for him fucking Fight Me)

NO jedidiah is not thomas' son. thomas takes too much after his mother to do anything to a woman he isn't married to (if he did he'd feel really dirty and unclean for touching a woman who isn't his wife)

As much as Thomas loves children he's too terrified to have any and you would actually have to be the one to convince him to have kids

he carries around a picture of his birth mother (an older worker at the factory gave it to him when they realized who he was)

he's actually ashamed of his height because people made fun of him for being so tall

Fun fact, real newspaper article from July 28, 1970 that stumped my tiny little brain

"Well, wait now, what's that supposed to mean?"

"What's what supposed to mean?"

"Well, that, right there." You thump your hand against the newspaper, gesturing at the sentence you don't quite understand.

"What about it?" Hoyt scoffs, snatching the paper from your hand, "It says it right there."

You cross your arms, frowning at his words as you lean against the front counter, "...But is she out or not?"

He lets out a mocking laugh, thumping the paper itself, "It says it right damn there!"

"A lovesick hospital maid who went to prison rather than promise a court to stop 'pestering' her ex-boyfriend was free Monday - After changing her mind." The paper reads, the words jumbling together in your mind as you frown harder at the paper.

"But it says she wouldn't leave 'im alone... But it also says she was free Monday."

"Yeah, that's right."

"How does that make any sense!?" You huff, earning another laugh from Hoyt.

"It says she changed her damn mind right there!"

Your face flushes hot as you frown harder, your grip tight against your own skin.

It wasn't your fault, really... Or, well, maybe it was...

Words didn't always make sense to you. They jumbled together in complicated ways that made it harder to understand the world around you. Whether written or spoken, you couldn't help but feel stupid when something as simple as a sentence stumped you.

But, much like a guardian angel, or in Hoyt's case, a bad hangover, Thomas always seemed to be lurking around the corner, listening in to any conversation you had.

Strong hands rest on your shoulders with a slight squeeze, the hot air of his breath rushing over your scalp as he kisses your head.

He doesn't speak often, it hurts his throat and stimulates his scarred face in a rather unpleasant way, but he doesn't hesitate to use his voice as he leans against you, whispering softly in your ear as he explains the sentence to you.

You listen carefully, at this point he knows you well enough to help you understand it in the first explanation:

"She promised, but after spending a little time in prison, changed her mind." He points to the sentence, helping you understand the sentence better.

You nod with a new sense of understanding, your embarrassment easing as you enjoyed the rare occasion of Thomas' voice.

"Oh, oh, I see..." You mutter, before pressing a kiss to your husband's cheek, "Thank you."

He nods, and with a final grunt, returns to unloading the supplies for the store.

I just have to ask because I'm not sure if anybody knows, but how old is Thomas Hewitt? At first, I thought he was in his early thirties. Thirty-four, at least, but some say he is in his early twenties. This can make sense, considering he started working at the slaughterhouse at an early age, and he didn't graduate from school, dropping out at an early age. But what do you think?

Thomas was born in August 1939, though we're never given an exact date. The 2006 remake (The Beginning) takes place in July 1969, putting him right at 29 years old when the Hewitts become cannibals.

The 2003 remake (four years after The Beginning) takes place August 18, 1973, which means he's 34. (Though technically he could still be 33, but that's neither here nor there as it's only a difference of maximum two weeks or so).

It is an interesting choice that both of the most life changing events he's ever lived through (becoming cannibals and the death of Hoyt/capture of his family) occurred around his birthday. I personally don't believe Thomas likes his birthday as it is (given that it's overall another reminder of how little people care for him), so this, to me, would sort of seal the deal of his distaste for his birthday.
