i think a lot of people who are getting into popmart recently just don't have a healthy mindset towards blind boxes. the whole point of blind boxes is that you don't care which one you get, so you end up getting a random one for a little bit cheaper. i at least think this is what the mindset should be, and how the companies should go about blindboxes. you should only ever be getting a blindboxes if you like all of the options, or at the very least feel neutral about a couple of them. getting one that you hate is an easy way to get engagement, but it is not a mindset actual everyday non-influencers should have. i can guarantee the second you yave one you hate you will get that exact one over and over.

i don't mean to sound like a chaser or anything but i love the voice that some trans girls have when they get good at voice training for the first time and they kind of sound like some kind fairy or glinda. this soft high pitched voice is so pretty.

one of my homestuck hot takes is that dave makes more sense as transfem than transmasc. i think his story represents a person growing more comfortable with not being a man and being into men than being a trans guy who's into men.

a lot of dave's issues with masculinity stem from bro. bro is like if toxic masculinity itself turned into real boy, and he hands those gendered expectation down to dave. would he really do that if dave was born a girl? bro has no respect for women and is incredibly homophobic, and he would just be cool with his trans son and be super affirming of his identity?

dave's constant anxiety about his gender can be read as a trans man's experience of acting extra boy-ish to pass, but they could also easily be read as a trans woman deep is denial. especially in the household that dave was raised in, that would make a lot of sense. dave is constantly putting on a front. he is constantly doing a performance of a man. his performance isn't his real self, it's a wall he puts up in order to never be truly vulnerable. but if dave is a trans man, wouldn't him being a man be his true self? i think a lot of transmasc people have this phase where they really want to pass and put all of their effort into it, and it causes them to burn out really fast. their true self is somewhere in between the performance you are putting up of the man you want to be and the man that you already are. while almost every part of dave's performance is not real. i don't think he's doing it as part of a greater journey of self acceptance, i think this is a purposeful crushing of his inner self for the sake of survival in his household.

anyway it just kind of annoys me how all of the trans dave fics are of him as a trans man and not a trans woman. also him as a transfem dj who's dating an angry little guy makes perfect sense to me.

also, if you want to see him as transmasc, i am all for it, do whatever you would like with the source material, make it work for you. i also don't mean to devalue anyone's experience. there are so many ways to be trans, you do you, i just read this character differently.
