YOUR PATIENT SELF-TESTING PARTNER
A part of Alternative Health Care Inc. is PATIENT SELF TESTING (AHC). AHC, a leading provider of cutting-edge technology and disease management services with a focus on clinics, doctors, and patients, was founded as a California corporation in 1983.
Anticoagulation patients are provided with an easy-to-use monitor to assess their INR level, which is comparable in size and scope to home blood glucose monitors. The patient receives a reading after a short finger prick, analyses the blood with the monitor, and then transmits the data to AHC'S PATIENT SELF TESTING monitoring centre. The patient's INR test results are compared to their recommended therapeutic range using AHC'S PATIENT SELF TESTING, and the updated results are plotted on an INR trend report that is automatically sent to and made electronically available to your doctor's office.
The advantages of AHC's Patient Self Testing programme allow the attending physician to manage chronic oral anticoagulation for his or her patients at home using PT/INR monitoring by:
Providing the equipment and reimbursed supplies at little to no out of pocket cost to patient
Managing consumable (strips) delivery schedules
Collecting test results and making them available to the attending physician for timely adjustments and interventions
Improving Quality of Life for the patient – Patient does not have to visit a clinic each week
Coordinated billing “Charge Slip” reminders to ensure timely and appropriate reimbursement
Gains from Self-Testing
EQUIPMENT- Providing the equipment and reimbursed supplies at little to no out of pocket cost to patient
