Hi! I've just watched the black clover op10 and the little Patri & Licht moment in the beginning broke my heart, would you please write some heartwarming and wholesome headcanons about the two of them, in a father-son style I mean? Thank you!

None of the elven flashbacks have Patri’s father. His mother is shown briefly when Patri asks her about Licht getting his four-leaf grimoire, so I’m going to make a big assumption here and say he’s not around (either away at work/dead/etc) for this headcannon.

Patri and Licht

It’s tough becoming a man when your dad isn’t around and you don’t have any older brothers to fill the role. Luckily for Patri, Licht stepped into the role. It could be because Licht saw it as his duty as the elves’ leader to make sure Patri had a role model, but in reality Licht would have done it even if he wasn’t the leader, because Licht is genuinely a nice person.

Licht invited Patri to many of the adult gatherings like feasts and dances so Patri could learn about all the elven customs he would be expected to do as an adult.

He also always requests that at least one of Patri’s favorite dishes is at the event.

Licht never babied or shielded Patri either from the truth, but treated him as an equal. Something many of the other elves Rhya wouldn’t do.

Even though he was busy, Licht always found time to listen to Patri’s problems and answer his questions. Whether it was questions on his school work, or a problem with someone at school Licht was always there. 

This bond actually was so great that Licht was the first to notice Patri’s distaste for Tetia and Luminere because they were human. Licht never scolded Patri for this or try to impose his own views onto Patri. Nor did he ever tell Patri his feelings were wrong or invalid. Instead he would continuously pose philosophical questions to Patri to make him truly think about the world around him and where his feeling stem from to see so he could critically think for himself.

Licht also understood Patri’s reservations about him becoming a father. After all, Licht’s time with him would lessen with the arrival of the baby. But Licht always made sure to tell Patri that he would have time for him and he was important. Licht even tried to help Patri come to terms with the birth of his son by asking for Patri’s suggestions for names and what he thought on things like clothes and the nursery.

Licht: ...wasn't Rhya with you the whole time?

Rhya: In my defense, I was also left unsupervised.

William has had a second soul in his body ever since he could remember. He wanted to take care of it, to make sure he lives so the soul can, too. He’s always wanted to see the soul physically. Later, William having this second soul in his body complicated his life. The second soul, Patry, was going to fight against the human race, especially the Clover kingdom, while William is loyal and protective of Julius and the place he called home. He loves Patry, but he also cares for Julius. William saw the fight between these two people through Patry’s eyes. When Patry won, he was broken. He regretted not being able to choose who he would side with. His soul fell dormant inside of Patry for the rest of this incident, up until Asta removed Patry’s soul from his body. Then, after he helped get the truth of what truly happened to the elves and removed their souls from all the humans that were affected, Rades used his wraith magic out of anger and brought Patry’s soul back into Licht’s body. William was happy that Patry could atone, and he could see him, but he needed to atone first. When he saw that Julius came back in a smaller form, he was surprised. Then, William had to do a lot of work and training throughout the 6 months the Heart and Clover kingdom had to prepare for the fight against the devils. Then, he got abducted in an attack. After the spade battle and William healing, he could finally see Patry and talk to him in a peaceful environment. William makes his way to Elysia, where Patry and a few other close friends of his are. All of them were happy to see him for the first time in a while.

“Hello, William… It’s been a while…” Patry says, blushing a little at the sight of him. William talks and catches up with Patry and his other friends.

“Can William and I be alone for a little bit?” he politely asks.

“Sure, we’ll just walk around for a little while,” Rhya says. Him and the others walk off into the forest. Then, Patry and William find a place to sit together. He sits next to William.

“So, how’s it been going in the clover kingdom?” Patry asks William.

“It’s been well… how have you been feeling lately?” He asks, leaning up to him. Patry notices, and he sighs contently.

“Even better, now that you’re here with me…” He purrs. William blushes at those words.

“I’m so happy we can finally be together… also, I have to tell you something,” he holds William’s hand, preparing to tell him.

“I love you…” Patry confesses, looking up at him.

“I… I love you too, Patry…” William didn’t expect for his relationship with him to become something more than friends, but he was okay with that. He has been with Patry his whole life, and seeing him and thinking about him made his heart flutter. Then, Patry kissed him on the cheek. Both of them were flustered at this point, but they were happy. After a while of being affectionate talking to each other, Patry grabs William, making him gasp. He then pulls him into his lap and hugs him. Patry sighs as he presses his face into William’s neck.

“You’re so pretty, Will…” He mumbles. William softly rubs his back while Patry kisses him. Every time either of them got kissed or loved, their heart would flutter. They continued to kiss each other until they heard a familiar voice.

“So you’ve got a boyfriend now, Patry?” Rhya chuckles, walking up to them. Patry instantly hops off of William’s lap, his cheeks red with embarrassment.

“Don’t worry, though, I support ya,” Rhya laughs.

“W-we were in the middle of something!” Patry looks down, his face flushed adorably. William was just sitting there still, his face also red. After the both of them manage to calm down, everyone else comes back. They notice William and Patry holding hands and leaning up to each other. They knew they were in love, but they still announced it to them.

“You guys are so cute together… I wish I was able to see Mars, it’s been so long… we’ll see each other again someday,” Fana sighs.

“I have to leave soon, it’s getting a bit late,” William says, looking up at the sky, noticing the sunset.

“The sunset looks nice,” Vetto says, smiling.

“Well… I’ll see you again sometime soon, okay?” Patry looks at William, holding his hands.

“Of course, honey… I love you,” he kisses Patry before getting back on his broom and flying back.

Many Pepole expect him scolding Patri out for what he did, till hating him. But Licht was a kind soul and decides to comfort him.

William enjoys hanging out near the ocean, especially in a secluded area at the end of the beach. He sits on a rock and watches the waves break against the shore. It feels comforting to him. Because of how people treated him, he likes being alone more often. William can also take off his mask and swim around there without fear of being looked at. He takes off his clothes so he’s in his bathing suit, and walks into the water. William swims for a little while and then hangs out near the rock he sits at.

Then, he hears a noise. It sounds like someone swimming near him. He slightly panics and tries to swim away before he notices the person behind him is too close to him for him to leave unnoticed. William stops and slowly turns around to see someone. Or something. He has scaly spots and he doesn’t seem to be a human. He does have human features, though. He has long, blond and messy hair.

“Are you a human?” He asks, swimming a little closer to William.

“U-um, yes,” William stutters, feeling nervous that he saw him without his mask.

“Thank you for not running from me, I just want to know more about humans. My name is Patry,” Patry chuckles.

“My name is William, thanks for not being scared of me,” William sighs, starting to feel less anxious.

“Why would I be scared of you?” Patry asks, confused.

“My scars, people are scared of me because of them,” William frowns, looking away. Patry gets closer to William, looking into his lavender eyes as he blushes.

“I think they’re unique. How did you get these scars?” Patry questions.

“I was born with these. I got them from my mothers side of the family, from a curse. I usually wear a mask to hide them,” William points to the mask, along with the rest of his clothes sitting near the rock.

“Why are people scared of you?” William asks.

“They get scared when they see my tail, I’m not a human. Also, I’m just shy around humans,” Patry chuckles, a blush on his face as he shows his long, finned tail to him. William gently touches it, and notices Patry’s smile. He couldn't help but to blush as well.

“I think you’re unique as well…” he smiles. He then notices William trembling a little.

“A-Are you cold? I can help you warm up,” Patry insists, before giving William a hug. He protects him with his tail. William blushes even harder. He wasn’t just cold. He nervously hugs him back.

“T-Thank you,” William tries his best to hide how flustered he is, noticing Patry’s smile. He notices how William is still trembling.

“Maybe… You aren’t just cold,” Patry mumbles, noticing how William is blushing. Without thinking, William kisses him. Patry flinches, starting to blush as well. William then realizes what he did and tries to pull away, but Patry places his soft hand on his cheek, pulling William closer. The kiss continues for a few more moments before he pulls away. They both stare at each other.

“Wow… so that’s how to kiss…” Patry chuckles, slightly out of breath. He doesn’t let go of William.

“You’re such an adorable human… your scars are so gorgeous, they’re like nothing I’ve ever seen before,” He purrs, petting William’s damp hair. He looks up at him lovingly, feeling more comfortable in his arms.

“Your eyes are beautiful,” William whispers, feeling surprised he met a merman, one that loves him, even. Patry is equally surprised he met this human. Soon, William notices the sun starting to set, so he gets out of the water and dries off.

“I’ll see you here again sometime,” Patry sighs, holding his hand. William kisses him on the cheek before leaving. William’s day at the beach was a lot different than what he expected.

For those who don’t know, “Mabushii” means “dazzling” or “radiant”!

Here’s the puns from that episode explained: 

William brings out a bowl of Japanese food in this episode. The dish is called “Mabushidon" and it’s basically eel over a bowl of rice

Later, Licht pulls out a snake. It’s called a ”Mamushi", which is the Japanese name for a pit viper

After that, Patri starts dancing a dance called the “Soran bushi”. It’s a traditional Japanese sea shanty. It’s also referenced in another anime, Kaguya-sama - Love is War

So in their episode, we have a Mabushii Mabushidon, a Mabushii Mamushi, and a Mabushii Soran Bushi!
