ok ok real talk, wtf is with the pyramid ships?! D r i f t e r??? Im wondering if maybe this means the thing he's been afraid of is Savathun??

ok so spoilers/leak talk warning, but a lot of what I’m gonna say is on speculation from others, basic knowledge of lore, and my own thoughts

In the D3 leaks its speculated that the new enemy for D3, altho now some are saying in SoO we may see them, are The Veil. The Veil are a new species that are said to be closer to, if not the, darkness itself/themselves. Those pyramid ships? They’re the Veil. We see those a couple of times in D2 before SoD.

I’m gonna start off with the second (afaik) instance we see “The Veil”. At the end of the Red War campaign in D2 we see the pyramid ships for the first time.

When the Traveler wakes, light is blasted through and past the galaxy, until it reaches the pyramid ships. The Veil is said to have been pursuing the Traveler, waiting for the moment it awakens again. This is because, during the Collapse, their god (The Formless One iirc) was killed and they want to harness the Traveler’s energy and the Light as a whole to revive it. The ships are seen coming to life/lighting up as soon as that blast of light hits them. Spooky, right? And they are just hanging outside the fringe of the Milky Way. I guarantee you this is what the Nine are showing us and the Drifter in these visions.

The first time we see the Veil is actually through a little preview Bungie gave us. The Veil were first presented as an unnamed mystery race in this image.

SO YEAH, those pyramid ships are theirs. If the leaks have any truth to them, were seeing The Veil in action and getting ready for war against us.

IRT the Savathun comment, who knows? The Hive worship their own gods but are followers of the Darkness so it’ll be interesting to see how it pans out. I imagine they’ll go to war with The Veil too, but will still be our enemies. 

SO YEAH, ANYWAYS…

The Drifter was right all along and yall better be grateful my mans is here to help us.
