a morning kiss has always been part of their routine. in all the years they’ve been together they’ve never forgotten it once

they like to read the same book at the same time so they can discuss it afterwards, but it’s often the main source of their petty arguments (because dutch’s opinions on literature are always absolutely insufferable)

it’s not uncommon to see them slow dancing to the gramophone during the night, especially if they’ve both been drinking

long before arthur, dutch was hosea’s preferred partner in running scams. hosea often misses scamming with dutch since dutch’s charisma and bullshitting ability made him ideal for the job

in his old age hosea suffers general aches and pains in his back, and dutch will sometimes help to ease them by giving hosea a massage

they love being sappy together in front of arthur and john, just to embarrass their poor sons

that ornate “D” ring dutch wears was a custom made anniversary present from hosea. it’s one of the only pieces of jewellery hosea has ever actually paid for instead of stealing

hosea’s favourite place to kiss dutch is right on the beauty mark on his cheek

they have a ton of personal jokes that go back decades, most of them absolutely incomprehensible to anyone except the two of them

dutch used to write secret little love letters to hosea back when they were still courting. hosea kept every single one

dutch’s final thoughts were of hosea

Thinking a lot about one of the prototypes for Bioshock Infinite where Elizabeth was portrayed as an older, mute, Gibson Girl and man am I obsessed with that concept.

I understand gameplay-wise it would have been hard to pull a character like this off but narrative-wise I’m really attached to the idea - you hardly see characters that are intentionally mute, it’s more of a silent protagonist sort of deal - in this version too Booker was supposed to be a silent protagonist so it’s interesting to think of two main leads in a setting like bioshock that find ways to wordlessly communicate with each other (I wonder too if she was still intended to be Booker’s daughter as the main twist because here she looks closer to his age)

Not to mention this version of Elizabeth seems to have lived an even harsher life - she scowls constantly, she has a lot of anguish, she’s very urgent to grab the player by the shoulders and show them the danger she’s spotted ahead

She’s an interesting departure from the usual wide-eyed and wondering female protagonist crowd we see so often (no offense to the Elizabeth we got now), and I really like her :)

Idk if this was intentional (I like to think it was), but I’ve always really liked this bit of wordplay from Sinclair’s intro:

As his assistant, Sinclair is the squire to Delta’s knight, and they’re off on their iron horse to save the princess (remember how the Big Sister suit looks like a princess-y dress in the eyes of the Little Sisters?)

And here’s a heartbreaking bonus:

Sinclair’s in armour too.

(Or, hey, you can interpret ‘knighthood’ to just be his character development into a better person who genuinely wants to save Delta and Eleanor. Y’know, to make yourself feel better.)
