Gloom from Judgement: Eternal Champions . Quickie paint-up. Cool model and all, but the bases on these minis are baffling to me. I got the PVC version and all the base details are flattened out. That skull under her rear paw? Yeah... that's not a camera distortion, lol. Brok from Judgement: Eternal Champions . Fun fact, I've never painted a dwarf before... and literally since I was like 7 years old, I've always wanted to paint a ginger dwarf. My style kind of shies away from super vibrant colors, so I didn't have the courage to give this guy "fiery red hair", but it was still fun to paint this guy. The reason I've wanted to paint a dwarf is because they usually have noses and cheeks that could really show off some redness, like a drunken dwarf... I kept it subtle 'cause Brok is no drunk, heh. . And can I just say these 3D tokens are really cool? Player Ships from The Everrain . I already painted "The Ivory Sword" (Purple) and just had to await my game to paint the rest. So here's "The Pariah" (Red), "The Bitter End" (Teal), and "The Aberconway" (Yellow). I typically log all my paint mixes and such so I can replicate them later, but these sails turned out brighter than my first one... think I just got more bold with how much ivory I used on the sails, heh. Yothans from Cthulhu Wars (The Ancients) . I actually finished these guys maybe 2 months ago? I just never got around to taking pics. Not a lot to say about these guys... "The Ancients" are the teal faction, so I kinda' painted their armor plating as a dull metallic teal. Cathedrals from Cthulhu Wars . Paint the Cathedrals, I said. It'll be quick, I said. They're so simple you can practice NMM on them, I said! I spent way more time on these (4) models than I intended... I kept finding little things to paint, but they all required precision, so it was so much more time consuming than I expected, lol. You can see where I started painting gold areas but stopped after only one highlight... . I'm still alive! Haven't posted/painted in over a year... I still love it, but honestly, the biggest motivating factor to painting is actually playing the game. Given the state of the world, I haven't been able to play much at all. . Anyway, these guys are the expansion Shadow Agents (KS exclusive) for "World of Smog: On Her Majesty's Service." The Mad Scientist, The Comedian, The Puppet, and The Hybrid. Just a speed paint as I just felt the need to scratch an itch. Drab clothing is still a challenge for me to get contrast right and I took a few liberties when referencing the concept art just to make them look more like they belong together. Lea and Belshazar from Etherfields . First mini of 2021! Ok, I confess that I started this in December... but there were literally 2-3 week breaks between painting sessions because I felt no urgency in getting them done since I'm not playing the game right now. Lucifer(o?) from Black Rose Wars: Inferno . I've been waiting for a long time for this guy... I'm still not satisfied with how I paint pale skin, but it's an improvement from my previous attempts. I didn't want him to have jet black wings, so I tried to give them a little more color interest and try for an iridescent effect again. The snakes coming out of his back were also supposed to be black... and given that his body is so light, I wanted to keep both wings and the snakes dark... so I referenced iridescent black snakes for these guys as well. . I think I've come up with a slightly different approach to gold NMM as well. The gold on his body and the chains/discs on his wings are different... Arev from Tainted Grail . A quickie before BRW wave 2 to arrives at my door. I didn't actually plan to paint TG beyond the menhirs since I wasn't all that excited for the minis, but since this is the guy I plan to try out and I have a small window of nothing to do? Why not? And can I add... I hate that the tattoos are sculpted? It completely screws up my ability to paint that area... Definitely not a fan. Family Photo! . It's ALWAYS rewarding to finish a full paint-up, so I can never resist the family photo shot at the end. Hastur's Cultists from Cthulhu: Death May Die . Really simple paint-ups and done in conjunction with Hastur for the matching yellow. Not a lot to say beyond I kept the eyes blank white because they were just unclear in the sculpt and impossible to paint actual eyeballs... but that's ok, seeing as they're cultists, the "mindless" look works for me, heh. . Fun fact, finishing these gals marked me finishing the entire core box! ...and that was maybe 3-4 weeks ago.
