Welcome to Earth III; Bloodswap Edition!

A discord exclusive 18+ Homestuck Roleplay server with a story driven experience, while still holding it’s Earth C charm. Though the twist isn’t just the bloodswap, but our lovely dream bubbles have seemingly survived after the creation of Earth C. With the ability to still cross back and forth into the dream bubbles it’s as if some of our old friends (and enemies) have never left! But who knew they’d have a second chance at life?  

Here’s what’s happening on Earth C: The planet has a dream center for visitors to go into the dream bubbles. After Earth C was created the dream bubbles remained as a form of limbo for those who passed who weren’t ready to move onto their second chance. This center was created for those alive who wished to interact and help those in the dream bubbles to find their ‘peace’. Only designated personnel can enter or those who pay a handsome fee. Otherwise chat clients are the only cheap method to interact with these individuals. The current political situation would currently be peaceful. Though there is some tension in the human and troll kingdoms about allowing some of the dream bubble inhabitants enter the living world. There are strong political debates being aired on live television about whether or not this is an ethical practice and if these portals to the dream bubbles should be removed completely. Currently the only kingdoms that allow free reign for these dream bubble centers are the Consort kingdom and very obscure/small districts in the Troll-Human Kingdom. 

Here’s what’s happening in the Dream Bubbles:

Inhabitants of the dream bubbles are those who died in the game and/or prior to the game. Those who didn’t God-tier remained in the bubbles even as Earth C was finally created. Thus their second chance to move on being available to them, but it is until they find true peace in themselves and settle their pasts that they can move on. Claiming your $125 from Equifax is a "moral duty"

If you fill in this form, Equifax will send you $125 as part of its settlement with the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau, the FTC, and 48 out of 50 states.

Equifax doxed the nation and profited handsomely from it. $125 is a laughably small sum given how much damage the data they hemorrhaged all over the internet could cause you. Equifax should have faced the corporate death penalty, the execs who oversaw the disaster should have had their assets seized and diverted to anti-identity-theft measures and charities.

Instead, the FTC et al are hitting the company for a maximum of $700m (how much they pay depends in part on whether you fill in this form.  Equifax’s market cap stands today at $16.6B, and it posted $3.412B in earnings in 2018, up 1.48% increase from 2017.

As meaningless as the $125 is, as piddling as the $700m is, you should still do this. As Josephine Wolff writes for Slate, breaches should be as expensive as possible. Anything you can do to make them more expensive will help people inside companies who are arguing against data-collection and retention, making the world safer for everyone else. Anything you can do to make breaches more expensive will hit the share price of companies that overcollect our data.
