Yeah, absolutely. I also made lots of money and haven’t experienced any negative repercussion, which is why I was motivated to take an unpopular stand against people with exponentially more power and influence than me.

Perhaps at times it’s reasonable to question why someone would side against the side on which their bread is buttered. Why might someone do something so entirely against their own self-interest?

It’s scary to stand against the crowd, but someone had to do it. This kind of horrific bullying sent Hayley to an inpatient mental health facility. It sent Lillie back into an abusive home because her source of income was abruptly cut off. I stayed with them while their world fell apart. It was horrible and they didn’t deserve any of it. Nobody deserves this kind of vitriol, but especially not ordinary people who were simply trying their best in a friend group that had been soured by the weight of egos and capitalism.

I don’t regret the side I chose. There was every reason to side with those who held the power, and I didn’t. I’ll probably never be this brave again in my life, but fuck you for thinking you’re on the side of justice when you pull shit like this. Do better

Another fun thing I do with customers - specifically parents of very small children who don’t know they’re alive yet - is directly imply I think the coffee is for the baby, not the parent. and lemme tell you, like 70% of parents eat that shit up.
