So, the Wendigo. The Wendigoag. The Windigo. The Wentigo. Whatever you want to call it, this malevolent Algonquin spirit goes by many names depending on the culture that speaks of it. It has spread across the First Nations of the upper north of North America, aka Canada. It is in modern media, displayed as a large, bipedal deer-person. While, no, this is not the actual way it appears, the way that the user "finding-my-culture" describes it in their post on the subject is immensely incorrect.

Now, I am not a member of the First Nations. I am not Algonquin or Ojibwa in any way. We do not know or believe that I have any blood in relation to the natives of the continent we know as North America. But, I do my own research. The Wendigo is not a "giant made of ice". That is the Wechuge, a similar malevolent spirit of a different set of tribes, the Athabaskan people.

I am saying this, here and now:

Wendigo is not a slur. It is a name for a malevolent spirit that is a warning against cannibalism and greed. Harass me over this if you want, I don't care. I am stating what I believe. I know I don't have freedom from the consequences of my words. In the words of my late grandfather, "Your rights end where my nose begins."

Today (November 2), after months of expectative about the verdict on the “Johnny Depp vs. The Sun” trial, who he’s suing over a story published in 2018 which branded him a “wife beater”, was revealed. Unfortunately, Judge Justice Nicol decided to stay on The Sun and Ms. Heard’s side, ignoring ALL THE EVIDENCES and in some moments even belittling Johnny. Just like Ms. Heard, the judge based on “assumptions”, blamed Johnny for being an abuser due to his drug and alcohol usage and, believe it or not, “jealously”. Evidences provided by Johnny and eyewitnesses were ignored to the point of almost an insult, while Ms. Heard inconsistencies, like wrong dates, wrong photos, lies and dozens of “mistakes” done even under oath and on the court, that proves that she indeed had a plan to destroy Johnny’s career, were accepted as being “effects of being in shock”. 

The Judge didn’t care about eyewitnesses, audios, about Amber Heard beating, insulting, hurting mentally and physically Johnny, how much he was stolen, belittled, threaten, almost killed and dozens of things that were proven with real evidence that she was and IS the real abused these whole time.

When Amber Heard attacked Johnny and yelled “Tell the world, Johnny, tell them, Johnny Depp: “I, a man, I’m a victim too of domestic violence.’ And see how many people believe or side with you.“ She was telling the truth. No matter how many men who were abused tell his stories, how many evidences they can get, shown and prove, people will still not believe. They will belittle, blame and reverse the whole story. This is why male survivors don’t speak up. It’s not about the shame, it’s because even if proven innocent, he will always be labeled as abuser… 

Next Tuesday, Johnny will attend a three day deposition in Reston, Virginia, USA, from November 10 through November 12 at 10AM, in order to the upcoming “Johnny Vs Ms. Heard” Trial in the USA, where the decision may be the opposite of today.

Jenny Afia of Schillings law firm, who represented Johnny, said: “This decision is as perverse as it is bewildering. Most troubling is the judge’s reliance on the testimony of Amber Heard, and corresponding disregard of the mountain of counter-evidence from police officers, medical practitioners, her own former assistant, other unchallenged witnesses and an array of documentary evidence which completely undermined the allegations, point by point. The judgement is so flawed that it would be ridiculous for Mr. Depp not to appeal this decision”

In devastating news today, 26 Oct 2020, VicRoads has destroyed 300 years of living cultural heritage.

The Directions Tree (pictured above) was felled today at around 1.30 pm Australian Eastern Standard time.

This tree was over 300 years old. It was a place where the Djabwarrung people could go to seek spiritual guidance and to feel connected to their ancestors.

And it was cut down today, to make way for a road that has multiple other viable routes.

This has been an ongoing battle since 2018. There have been protectors on site since June 2018, and multiple attempts over the years by VicRoads to bully or intimidate protestors off the land, including getting the police to show up in drives to arrest protectors. Police have also spent the last two years specifically targeting known protectors, going so far as to jailing one (indigenous) man for six months because he had an expired drivers licence. When that one finally made it to a judge, the judge was disgusted and and threw the whole case out, cause who the hell imprisons someone for six months for having an expired licence?? Cops with a vendetta, thats who.

There have been multiple legal challenges from multiple directions over the route of this road, and the fact that the planned route requires the destruction of three indigenous heritage sites. There is an open court case at the moment, set for December, and by moving ahead with works and destroying one of the sites, VicRoads is in direct contravention of a court order.

Not only did they cut it down, they also then loaded the tree onto a truck and drove it up and down the stretch of road past one of the other sites where the protectors are camped. They know full well how devastating this destruction is, and they drove thw felled tree back and forth in front of the people who've spent three years protecting this tree, deliberately taunting them.

The destruction of the Directions Tree is an abominable crime. And its one that they want to commit again. Theres a Grandfather tree -- over 700 years old -- that is next in their firing line.

If youre in Australia, please call or email Dan Andrews (Victorian premier), Sussan Ley (Federal Environment Minister) or your local MP and protest the destruction of the Directions Tree, and ask them to protect the Grandfather Tree.
