We’re Payne Glasses. Nice To Meet You.
Wow, so this is Tumblr! Great to be here. We’re Payne Glasses. We were told to make a post about ourselves, so here goes:
Our Mission
Buying prescription glasses shouldn’t cost a whole paycheck.
We're an online store that sells prescription eyeglasses at factory prices. We want to provide high-quality, affordable eyewear to as many people as possible—which means no marked-up boutique prices and no worry about insurance coverage.
We believe in your vision, and that means quality and accessibility.
Factory prices also means our discounts are built into the price. So shopping with us is like already having a coupon in-hand and ready to go! 🎉

Lenses We Offer
If you have a heavy prescription like I do (the one who’s writing this!), you may be curious about the lenses we offer. We have:
Single-vision lenses (including high-index lenses for large prescriptions)
Progressive lenses (the fancier version of bifocals)
Photochromic lenses (the kind that transition in UV light to protect your eye sight)
Blue blockers (a coating that filters harmful HEV light from computers and cellphones)
Anti-scratch and anti-reflective coating
Tinted lenses and sunglasses versions of all our frames (because if you like your frames so much, why not both? 👓🕶️)
Our Frames
Speaking of our frames, they’re pretty stylish. We want you to see perfectly and look and feel good. We offer a variety of styles—thick rims, squares, cat eyes, aviators, rimless—you name it. 2018 has been a great year for stylish frames and we’re already stoked about what’s coming around the corner in 2019.
Here are two of our most popular frames:

🛍️Snag Your Own Hip Oval Pair
🎨Colors: purple, red, brown

🛍️Snag Your Own Windsor Oval Pair
🎨Colors: black, transparent

What You Need
You need not only your prescription from your optometrist, but also your monocular pupillary distance (PD), or the distance between the bridge of your nose and each pupil in millimeters. These measurements are rarely symmetrical, so if there is a few millimeter’s difference, no worries at all! You’re perfect. 🤩
Why Is PD Important And How Do I Get It?
We always mention PD to our customers because it’s not uncommon for optometrists to not include that information on your prescription. Fortunately, you can call your optometrist for this information. Legally, they can’t withhold it from you if you ask, but if you run into obstacles, you can always measure your PD on your own!
Here’s our helpful PDF guide on how to measure your PD. We’re also working on instructional videos and will update this post once they’re ready to go.
