“I heard what happened.” Lorna kicked the ground with the toe of one boot. “Medusa had a meeting with Jean. I have to ask,” the mutant paused. “Magneto. He wasn’t involved, was he?”

“I didn’t even realize Sam was back from space. Did he bring the kid?”

Clint paused for a moment before deciding why the hell not as he handed Lorna another arrow and motioned for her to go for it.

Lorna weighed the arrow in her hand before she tossed it. This time, the arrow made it a few hundred yards before it hit the ground and combusted. “That was way more fun.”

alex was in no rush to answer. not that he wanted to answer at all to be honest, but he couldn’t just sit in silence forever. lorna deserved answers.

“is it cheating if i say i’m not sure? i’d like to say no, but i don’t know if i can.”

alex had done some shitty things, but did that make one a bad person? the questions were getting too deep - too existential - at this hour, and he wasn’t sure what to make of it.

“i mean, if you asked me back when they first assigned me to the hellions - i think i’d be able to answer a loooot quicker,” he let out a terse laugh, carding a hand through unruly blonde locks, “– remind me again why we’re discussing this?”

Flopping back onto the bed while he spoke, a few coins found their way to Lorna. The mutant watched them float through the air, the metal weaving itself through her fingers. “You’re not a bad person, Alex. Even with all that Hellions stuff.” She sighed. “Besides, you graduated. I still need to throw you a party, y’know. Something small. A Happy Hellion Graduation get together, or something.”

That was a good question. Lorna let it sit in the air between them for a minute before she fully sat up and leaned over to press a kiss to his cheek. “I was asking if I was a good person and you deflected onto yourself. I just -- I feel like I’m supposed to be a really good person now. An X-Men. Meanwhile, my dad was just put on trial for killing my sister and I feel like the world’s biggest train wreck.” But that wasn’t Alex’s problem, was it? She kissed him on the lips this time, brief and fleeting. “Give me something better to think about.”

Why was one of the X-Men here? Monica was on edge as she stood a bit straighter and raised a brow at the green-haired woman. “Pleasure to meet you, Polaris. Can I ask what you’re here in regards to?”

“The X-Men are doing checks with the big agencies. One thing we want is to have good relationships with groups outside of our own. It’s why we moved to Manhattan.”

“I’m glad that’s how we’re differentiating between who’s good and who’s bad now.” Lorna scoffed. “I love my sister, but she also sucks.”

“You’re right, actually.” Daisy snorted, shaking her head at the realization. Maybe that could be seen as a little toxic, but honestly she was just glad that they’d been reunited again. Losing a twin had to be one of the most messed up things to go through, ever. “I don’t know if it exists.” She teased back, listening as Lorna listed some of her changes that she’d been going through recently. Or rather, what she’d learned about who she was before Pleasant Hill happened. Pretty soon the transition would be seamless, but Daisy still felt bad for Lorna, even if she didn’t seem too upset. “Well… congrats on the Phd?” She tried to joke, shrugging a bit as she laughed softly. “That must be really weird, having people point that kind of stuff out.”

“I’m happy they have each other, even if it’s kind of a mess.” Lorna shrugged. Another set of Wanda and Pietro had showed up and their relationship seemed to be even more messy. She had been raised as an only child and it still felt that way most of the time. “Do I get to say thanks if I did no work for it? It feels like the multiverse is just handing it to me.” Then again, a Lorna had done the work and the two were merging. Which was really, really freaky. Lorna shrugged. “Better than when they’re mad at me for bringing it here. I think they fixate on me because no one’s going to screw with Laura or Psylocke. It’s not like I’m going to call my dad and tattle. I don’t care what they do.”

“Hey, cut her some slack. I know resurrections have kind of desensitized us to this kind of stuff, but Laura still feels super guilty about it. None of us had any idea that was all going down.”

“I’m pretty sure Laura can speak for herself, Everett.” Lorna glanced at him. “Maybe not, but it still happened. I don’t actually want to talk about that right now. Do you want a drink? I think we deserve one.”

“No, sorry. I actually uh, missed out on the second half of the Gala. And the after party.” And the next couple days after that as the Quiet Council and the Five ultimately decided to resurrect her.

“I heard what happened.” Lorna had been with Laura during the murder itself. “Rough gig. How are you holding up?”

“More like an X-Factor problem. Emma’s still trying to get to the bottom of how security fumbled at the Gala. It’s a mess.”

“Don’t forget I was a founding member of Krakoa’s X-Factor.” In all honesty, Lorna missed her team. The X-Men were fulfilling, sure, but there had been something so natural about X-Factor. “Wanda and Gabby. I can’t believe X-Force let it slide. Domino’s supposed to be lucky and Quire is Omega level. What the hell happened?”

“The firefighters were, like, almost there. I didn’t want to tug it down by the metal on its collar.” She could have flown up there, but that was beside the point.
