AMELIA crossed her arms & pondered about the letter that she had also received, even though she had already been informed personally beforehand. “ it was about the lockdown, i believe. nobody is permitted to leave. ” a small sigh, followed by a shake of her head in response to the question. “ i’m afraid that i haven’t seen your watering can. i’ll be sure keep an eye out. ”

though appreciative of the information that amelia provides, pandora frowns. “so i guess there really is a war coming.” words spoken softly, but with consternation, disrupting her typical airy cadence.

“it was too official looking so i threw the blasted thing out.” he waved a hand as he shrugged, thinking back to how it had then subsequently set his trash can on fire. that had been an eventful night. “something about a lockdown of london which sounds like the title of a horrible muggle film but who’s judging?” he paused, staring at her for a long moment before he finally shook his head. “i know nothing of a missing watering can.”

though satisfied by the answer she receives, pandora can’t help but frown. “that doesn’t sound good,” she mutters, glancing down at nothing in particular. “i try to keep up with current events,” emerald eyes flit back to evan’s face, nothing but sincerity embedded in their crystalline depths, “it’s important now that i’m in the order, but i don’t like the daily prophet. they don’t tell the truth very often and when they do, it’s never the whole truth. i wonder if there’s a spell that could piece the letter back together,” she muses aloud, gaze drifting downward again as her slender fingers tap against the right side of her chin.

“i’m like, 82% sure it was nothing too important but then again i didn’t really read it.” he chuckles and scratches his cheek sheepishly. “actually, i don’t really know if i got a letter, checking mail is sirius’ business. or is it remus’? frankly i don’t have a clue who exactly lives at our place anymore.” a questioning expression unfolds onto his face and then he’s tilting his head to the side in thought. “anyways, better luck asking sirius — he’s the one working for the lot.”

the tiniest of creases forms between her brows as sparkling white teeth dig into her fleshy bottom lip. she glances down, ignoring the wayward strands of flaxen hair that tickle her face as she digs through her favorite satchel. it’s disorganized and overstuffed ( as usual ), but pandora still manages to locate the two items she sought. the first is a colorful booklet, which she thrusts rather impolitely into james’ hands. quibbler, it says on the front, plastered proudly above a small blurb about bowtruckles and another warning readers of mischievous, thieving creatures. the other object she pulls from her bag is jewelry — a necklace, to be exact. pandora very carefully adjusts the simple beaded cord before standing on her tiptoes and dropping it around james’ neck so that the pendant rests below his collarbone, directly adjacent to where she gently pats his chest with an open palm. “it sounds like you might have a nargle problem,” she tells him rather seriously, “the butterbeer cork should keep them from stealing anything else from you. i can make two more for sirius and remus if you want.” pale brows raised high and pupils wide, the offer is undeniably a serious and sincere one.

xeno lifts his head from where it was previously bent, looking down at his fingers where his most recently acquired bowtruckle was swinging around. “a letter from the ministry?” he repeated, deep in thought about the question. “ah, yes! i did.” he began to recall what the letter was about when she asked about his watering can, and he flashed her a smile. “i might have borrowed that to water my gnomes. i find it soothes them, especially when you catch them while they’re eating jellybeans.” he replied sheepishly, though the intense fascination lacing his tone was apparent. “i’m trying to round up a few of them, see if i can get any more insight to their lives. they’re quite fascinating creatures.”

a fond smile slowly unfurls along pandora’s lips as xeno explains away her missing watering can, then launches into a brief and intriguing anecdote about the idiosyncrasies of gnomes. “i didn’t know that.” but that’s one of her favorite things about xeno — he always has something interesting to say. “you should write about that in the quibbler. oh,” eyes widening, the svelte witch abruptly turns, reaching into her ratty brown satchel. “that reminds me…” she produces a fistful of wrinkled parchment. each sheet is decorated with slapdash cursive written in glittering blue ink, an infamous pandora dusk trademark. “i think that london might have a niffler problem.” strands of glimmering blonde hair are tossed over her shoulder as she attempts to straighten out the mess of tattered parchment. “see, i made a list of everything that i’ve lost in the past few days, and it’s all shiny things.” and they both know that nifflers love to steal shiny things. “see, there’s my favorite screwdriver, two forks from our kitchen, our spare doorknob, this piece of a car that i got at the junkyard, a vial of amortentia, an earring shaped like a feather, my gardening shears, a jar of my favorite ink, and…well, our watering can was on this list, but i guess the nifflers didn’t take that.” she peers over the top of her paper and grins at xeno, the teasing lilt in her voice even softer than the petals of alice’s favorite tulips.

“did anyone else get a very...” her pink lips shimmer as she presses them together, languorously contemplating, “...official-looking letter from the ministry? i opened it up to read, but then i wanted to make tea and i couldn’t find our kettle. i forgot that i used it to water the plants when our watering can went missing. we still don’t know what happened to it, by the way. do you?” a slight tilt of her head, accompanied by the shrug of slender shoulders, “anyway, about that letter...it burst into flames before i could read it, but i think it might’ve been about something important.”

hello hello! i’m s, 20, she/her, est timezone and i’m super hyped to be here! i’ll be playing this little cutie pandora and it’s my first time playing her so we’re kinda winging it here haha yikes! so under the cut is a lil info on her bc i haven’t put together a bio yet but i want all the connections so!!! pls pls message me if you want to plot!

first and foremost, pandora is 19 years old, a former ravenclaw and a muggleborn witch. she works from her home (which is probably an apartment in london) as an inventor which yes is in fact code for “she’s poor” wow how perceptive of you to notice that. she's also a member of the order of the phoenix

she’s an only child who was raised by her very free-spirited muggle parents. they traveled and moved around a lot during pandora’s youth and she’s actually originally from upstate new york (so she has an american accent!!!)

on her first day at hogwarts, the sorting hat spent struggled with whether to place her in hufflepuff or ravenclaw, but it eventually decided on ravenclaw

despite being rather erudite, witty and resourceful, pandora was far from a perfect student. her tendencies toward being scatterbrained and clumsy caused her to have a difficult time in some classes (specifically, potions) and she got detention every once in a while for (unintentionally) causing some kind of ruckus

personality wise, she’s all about Doing The Right Thing. she’s very perceptive and wise beyond her years so she’s a great person to go for advice honestly 10/10 do recommend. however, while you can definitely depend on her to always be compassionate and good and helpful, you absolutely 100% can never depend on her to do any of the following: arrive anywhere on time, not space out in the middle of a conversation, not accidentally injure both herself and you by being clumsy af, not interrupt you in the middle of a deep inner monologue to ask your thoughts on mothman, honestly the list goes on

joined the order bc she knows that it’s the right thing to do, but honestly her wandwork probably isn’t all that great so who knows what the fuck she thinks she’s doing??? not me

that being said, i don’t necessarily think she harbors any ill will towards death eaters as like a whole group. like, i don’t necessarily think she believes they’re bad people or anything. i think she just feels like in this particular situation, they’re the ones doing wrong and it’s her duty as a human being to blah blah blah

as i briefly mentioned earlier, she has like -4 galleons in gringotts though bc she doesn’t have an actual job (though i do think occasionally if she invents something useful someone’ll come along and buy it off of her). atm i think she lives in a little apartment in london with a roommate or two bc broke but also friendship so hmu if you’re interested in that connection!
