While normally sarcastic on comments relating to military brass and the lack of efficiency when their timing, NCP for once in her life held her tongue to avoid saying anything. Acting unprofessional never worked well in any army, more so when knowing the rumors surrounding the officer in front of the gem. The battlefield was a different animal and always was with each passing era, new weapons or tech always allowing the blood spilling to be grander. Despite keeping a straight face, a part of NCP was excited to spill the blood of others.
Most would see war as one of tactical need, trying one’s best to bring their fellow man back home. NCP was not such a sort and saw wars as nothing short of a game, mere chess where at times losing many pawns is required to get the checkmate. She paid close attention to the words given, hearing every bit of the mission while the left hand fidgeted with a small coin almost out of habit.
“Only one question ma’am, and that is are souvenirs allowed to be taken?” The grin gave signs of malicious intent. NCP clearly was up to the task, clearly seeing if certain…deviation actions are permitted. It was one thing to take things without approval, but if the gem could get the okay from the major?…
Her question would earn her a miffed side glance from the Major. She had hired a mercenary, yes, and a mercenary tended to find more comfort on the battlefield than the average soldier could. However, what she wasn’t looking for was a bloodthirsty hound, especially not from someone hired as a technical officer. Sure, her general efficiency and overall morale may be increased, but it was possible she was more prone to personal desire and emotion. Unchecked selfishness could lead to unnecessary violence that could endanger her human resources and compromise the mission. Without the checks and balances one would face during official military training, it was possible that she could go rogue. However, right now her technical skills outweighed the potential risk. She’d simply have to keep her eyes on her and make her authority known.
“Officially, according to standardized rules of warfare, the stripping of trophies from enemy soldiers is strictly prohibited. However, as far as I know, there isn’t any stipulation concerning mercenaries per se. However, your duties and my orders come ahead of everything else. When I have issued orders, you will not stop to do anything but what I have directly commanded you to do. You will carry out your assigned task until it is completed or until you are incapacitated. Your little ‘trophy hunting’ will not interfere with my operation. Should I detect a hint of insubordination, I will have you shattered. Do I make myself clear?”

sanzenxsekai:
Her form was a silhouette at first. A shadowy visage that stood roughly as tall as the one who called her forth. The Servant was silent for a while, visible strands of hair and her cape flowing in one direction behind her as she stood straight, as if observing the surroundings from which they were summoned, and examining the one who wanted to call upon her power.
Then… after a while longer of silence, the visage spoke. It had the voice of a young woman, speaking in a soft yet deep tone, perhaps a sign as to what kind of figure this particular Servant may be.

“I ask of you…” Says the shadowy figure. “Are you my Master?”
The much shorter girl stared at the shadowy figure she’d summoned with an unphased resolve. Her response was fast, without hesitation. “Yes. I am your master.” The cadence may have matched that of a child's, but it was far too grave and matter-of-fact to properly fit the image of one.
A sharp pop cut through the stiff air; one of her fingers had reflexively tensed into a tight curl. Apprehension clawed away at her heart; had she really done it? She had to make sure before the anxiety actually gripped her.
"Are you my Servant? Tell me, what is your true name?"

Taking the World by Storm
@sanzenxsekai
“-- You shall serve under me as I serve under all the kingdoms of Heaven. Heed my call, bind thy fate with mine, and make this contract flesh. Come forth!”
Golden hues flashed in a wave of shimmering, iridescent light which enveloped her small form. A wildfire of mana roared to the clouded skies in defiance for the briefest of moments before it was cut down to a pencil-thin thread of focus flowing from her fingertips. All of her attention was saddled between the glowing summoning circle she had painstakingly carved into the rock face and the small scrap of charred, tempered steel sat upon the pedestal behind it.
Her efforts were rewarded with an explosion of light erupting from the center of the circle. The luminosity was slowly chiseled away from an indeterminate beam to the rough outline of a cloaked figure. Twinkling sparkles built up in a grand crescendo around the Servant before flying out in a brilliant shockwave, taking the rest of the light with it. Tanya stood silent as the visage of the Archer cleared as to allow the Servant to have the first words.

eyesofambition:
Tanya was of course had to experience the same shocking situation herself much like her twin has been just now. Only she was awake the day before and had a rather long day of sightseeing before ending up still asleep when her twin had just woken up just now. Although a bit more comfortable than her twin is, considering she had her hair down and is wearing just an over sized buttoned shirt.
Tanya had intend on getting more stuff but only once she had acquainted herself more with this world first. Upon hearing the sounds of her twin suddenly waking up did Tanya herself start to stir in her sleep only to open one eye when she noticed her twin getting up from her bed or at rather sitting up. It was then that she brought herself to sit up as well. Rubbing along her eyes just a little before glancing back at her twin. “I know what you are thinking but considering the circumstances. We are in a world that knows not of Being X. In fact its a very modern world we are in now.” Tanya would add while working on her hair in the meantime, trying to get it back into a ponytail when she stared at her twin quietly. A tinge of a blush only to change to look of curiosity. “Oh and we’re not in the empire anymore.”

About a minute of silence passed between the two of them as she contemplated both her surroundings and what her doppelganger was saying. Was this some elaborate trick by Being X? No, she couldn’t see any possible benefit to Being X’s’ stated goal of converting her by suddenly whisking her away from the environment it had specifically tossed her in to challenge her beliefs and placing her in a seemingly calmer, more modern setting. And if she was in the other’s shoes, given prior knowledge about this new transition before being faced with an exact replica of herself, she would’ve done the exact same thing: inform her of what has changed. Chances were things were exactly what they seemed. Dozens of questions raced through her mind, but she figured she could find the answers to most of them later on. Right now, she should focus on the essentials.
“Alright,” she sighed in resignation. Noticing that the other was beginning to straighten herself up for the day, Tanya figured she’d start her routine as well. “So we’ve been transported to yet another world. Can we completely rule out the possibility that Being X had something to do with this?” She picked up a simple, plastic hairbrush and began to run it through her wild locks of bedhead hair. “And when you say ‘modern,’ have you noticed any differences between this world and the world we used to know? Back in 2013, where this all started?” As she picked up a hair tie from the dresser, she frowned. How are people going to tell us apart, anyways? Regardless of her thoughts, she tied her hair up all the same.

Starter for @eyesofambition
Something was different. That was the first thought Tanya had upon waking up in her bed. First of all, it was a bed, not a cot. Not to mention that this bed was way too comfortable for anything found in the Empire. The smell was off too: fresh linen replaced the usual odors of smoke, mud, and death.
Once she sat up, she'd find her room was no longer the cramped quarters of the makeshift barracks nor the slightly larger quarters she had back to in the quarters. Instead, it was a pleasantly spacious dorm room, albeit relatively bare. The only furniture was a pair of dressers and a second bed.
When her eyes fell to the second bed across the door room, she beheld the most shocking thing yet. She'd just made eye contact with a perfect doppelganger of herself, complete with the same messy bedhair she'd so frequently get. The pair stared at each other for what seemed like an eternity before she finally opened her mouth. "Huh?"

Tanya was trying to ignore the waves of gawking looks other people gave her. Yeah, people were noticing, but they apparently didn't care enough to say anything. Only this woman seemed to have even bothered to make a sound. The blonde stopped mid stride, only shifting her eyes to meet the stranger.
"... Is there a problem?" she methodically buzzed.
@pcrcelainjingo
“…” Should she be concerned? This little girl walking around in full military garb and somehow that didn’t grab other people’s attention? She seemed quite proud of herself too. It was enough to stare at in confusion, disrespectfully so. She had a mind to ask what the point of it was.
“Uh…?”

👁🗨- Talk about someone/something you like, but pretend to dislike
“Look, as much as I bemoan my men drinking as much as they do… I do still miss the occasional after-work drink. Sometimes, you just need life to be a bit more… simple. I was never one for the loud, obnoxious socializing that came with after-work parties, but enjoying a few beers or sipping on an aged, dry wine offered a little bit of peace now and again. Now that I’m stuck like this, I’m not even allowed to enjoy that. Damned Being X.”

❤️- For a secret crush
“Rerugen certainly seems like a pretty well put together man! He takes his job very seriously, keeps up a neat and tidy appearance, and has been fairly nice to me! Of course, he’s had his moments when he’s played on my nerves, but I don’t have any complaints I wouldn’t level against the brass in general. I think we get along quite well!”

⛈ - what is the muse like at their worst?
Tanya is known for her dedicated stoicism amongst her men. They see the worst of her once her eyes go dead and her voice almost a guttural low. Some could argue she would be at her worst when she puts on a fake act of kindness if only to easier stab her target in the back. But to Tanya, it’s when she loses a handle on her emotions that she considers herself to be at her worst. Her temper bounces off the walls, her rationale is jumbled, and she’s much, much more prone to violence. Thankfully, Tanya barely allows herself to fall to such a state. Being X certainly doesn’t help with that, though.
📖 - deadly sin that applies to them the most?
Wrath with a dash of pride. An important distinction though: her wrath doesn’t come from being evil or immoral. Rather, her lacking conscience and drive to succeed result in an vicious, cutthroat nature.
🍁 - favorite season?
Spring and fall. The weather is nice and cafes menus are at their peak. Perfect time to enjoy a hot coffee and read a good book.
